Kuwaiti Motorcyclist Slams into Power Pole in Pattaya
Moonlover replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
You can kill yourself on any motorcycle, no matter what the make or model is. The Forza BTW can top 130kph -
In the nine years that I've been on this forum I've read of just 2 and in both cases there was a back story which went beyond simply living abroad. Do you have a back story to tell?
-
Good to hear it @essex boys. Motivation is key. It doesn't matter where that motivation comes from, be it from@Mark Nothing's god or in my case my Qigong instructor, acting upon it is what counts. Good luck.
-
Well done. If only more kids got such attention from their parents.
-
A lot of people think that, but there's been no evidence to support it.

I can't advice you regards your property, (my ex wife took care of that for me!) but I can tell you that leaving the UK does not imply losing UK bank accounts. Many of us here still have accounts in the UK, including myself. I've lived abroad for some 30 years but still have both bank accounts and a credit card account. They all have my local address here and it's never been an issue with them. Good luck with your endeavors. Make a decision and get on and do it.

Exhibit A is a jug or jar, which is what I assumed you were talking about. Exhibit B is an electric kettle which is what I now use. I also have a good old fashioned whistling kettle which I can stick on the gas hob for when the power fails.

How much does a Retirement Home cost in Thailand?
Moonlover replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It probably wasn't necessary and most certainly wasn't desirable! My ex neighbour, a now deceased German lost a leg due to diabetes. When his renewal came due, his wife went to immigration and explained the situation. They accepted the application from her and made a house call to confirm that he was indeed infirm. The same happened the following year. There was also a story on this forum recently about a lady who was sick and couldn't attend the office. Imm officers also made a house call. P.S. Getting a hospital bed into an ambulance must have been a bit of a challenge. -
Your recommendation of using a school is a sound one. That's how my wife learned in Udon Thani. It was a one stop shop from training through to the test, in house and the issue of the license at DLT. She has also turned out to be a very careful and sensible rider, I'd suggest you look into this idea @Cricky The school provides the bike so there's no need for you to buy one until the kid has his license and has had some professional training.

The gauge is not relevant as regards to these projects in the O/P. It's correct that domestic lines are metre gauge, but the new high speed lines that will connect through Laos into China will be standard gauge and are separate projects. They won't be running HS trains and domestic trains on the same track.

What's the best way to get a kid to do something? Say 'No you can't!' Far better to have some input and control rather than to have them go behind your back. Because they will, peer pressure will insure that they will.
-
Yes of course they do. Kids under 18 years are limited to 110cc so they obviously produce machines for that market. The Honda Moove is one that I know of at 108cc. The Honda Wave also has a 110cc variant. P.S. This is the answer you'll get if you put your question to chatGPT: 'In Thailand, you need to be at least 18 years old to legally buy a motorcycle'.

It sounds to me that you don't do any 'targeted' exercise that could help you with your condition. Walking is good of course. It is after all our basic and most common exercise. I advocate and do at least an hour per day. (I live in the country so it's easy for me) I wear a smart watch which lets me know when I reach my target of 7,000 steps per day and it also sends me a reminder to 'get up and move' every hour. If you can try to avoid sitting for too long. You may have heard the saying, 'sitting is the new smoking' and it's true I'm sure. It's all too easy to settle in a comfy chair and idle the hours away, but it's not good for us at all. In the last year I've lost 20kg without dieting, simply by adopting a modest increase in exercise. No gym involved by the way. Small changes in our lifestyle can bring about noticeable changes in our health. Go for it. ????

Haven't you heard, they've left the building? I wasn't aware that they made electric jugs anyway. Back on topic, I've had the same experience as you @giddyup. I finally gave up on them and bought a common or garden electric kettle instead. It works just fine and I'm sure that it's more economical to use as well.

How much exercise do you get @essex boys? That should be the question to ask yourself before seeking medical intervention. There is plenty of advise out there on the web. I'd suggest you go do some research.

Scottish man becomes latest victim of Thailand’s perilous roads
Moonlover replied to snoop1130's topic in Krabi News
What an arbitary statement to make @balo! Providing one is fit and healthy and has good eyesight, there is no reason why one cannot continue riding a motorcycle into one's 70s & 80s. In fact I'd go as far as to say that riding helps to keep you fit, both physically and mentally. (see link below) I always feel refreshed following a nice ride out in the countryside and even after mixing it with city traffic. I cannot say the same for driving a car. I'm 77 now and I intend to continue riding and enjoying life for as long as I'm able too. https://motorcycleshippers.com/2016/01/health-benefits-related-to-motorcycle-riding -

Witnessing is not the same as experiencing. Did you get to ask the rider what his experience was? -
There are not 14 million electric scooters. He said 14 million scooters (overall) If the demand for EVs were to increase then, obviously the number of available batteries would increase pro rata. I think it's a great idea. It would surely help with the air pollution problems in the likes of Bangkok.

Yes indeed. It came about during Big Joke's tenure and was his bodged attempt to curb the illegal activities of the agents and rein in the corruption. Sadly it backfired rather badly.

I much prefer to live in a rural setting, despite the material disadvantages. We enjoy 'excellent' or 'satisfactory' air quality for just about every day of the year. (according to Air4Thai) We get get fresh, unadulterated food from farm to plate and I can be out walking in the countryside, which I like to do daily, within moments of leaving my front gate. I do not need the 'trappings' of urban life to keep me happy and I find cities a very stressful environment, even for a short visit. I have plenty to do out here that keeps contented with my life.

Obtaining FETs from your bank
Moonlover replied to Moonlover's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
The exchanges rates just about the same as Wise, mid market and there is no receiving bank charges. The only factor I don't know is the charge, if any for the FETs. -
