My mate back in the UK has a leasing firm of his own. He said that one of his rentals hadn't been returned and they couldn't contact the person who rented it. He contacted the police to report it as stolen, and within one hour they had stopped and arrested the driver and seized the car. My mate isn't a big fan of the old bill back home but even he was impressed. Don't think he'd enjoy reading this story.
So glad all my work is online and that reputation is everything.
Yeah everything online is squeaky clean, just like Face<deleted>.
I trust you are joking?
We will see if this case disappears or if the DSI do their job?

Ah, great, another Thai expert.
All the reports I have read from NASA etc aren't sure when or where yet as it is out of control.

Random? Why not regular and random?

Always a last minute decision, but it will be on as Thais love football.
The time is the problem (as you say), and I don't see bars being able to stay open that late. However many games will be on Thai TV in hostels, hotels, etc but getting a beer could be a problem and enjoying games with others is unlikely.
I am thinking of a holiday in the west... Two weeks in Poland?

And which law covers this little announcement?
His driving tips would be a start but it will not last as all the BiB seem to have semi inactive posts 11 months of the year and only do their job when there is a profit in it.
The daily road death toll is evidence enough. Over Songkran week and New Year it hardly changes from the usual carnage.
As for the katoys (err Kamoys), will they be fined or jailed?
The LBGTi lobby can moan and bleat all they like, reality is the fact they are a menace.
For a few thousand baht you can do more than grope girls in Pattaya and that will not change for a week due to water throwing.
When will they wake up and stop smelling the baksheesh.....?

SM is to express an opinion, not for what it all too often becomes: A witch hunt.
Both the restaurateur and the reviewer's names should be reported to the police for investigation of "threatening behaviour and possible libel action".
Of course we can expect the RTP to "jump to it" immediately and press charges on the least wealthy side...

These app blood suckers wouldn't be necessary if the regular taxis stuck to the rules.
But as normal nobody enforces them as there's no money in it.
A new license for shove-halfpenny and skittles next week?
-
Some posters are forgetting that it is all regulated by brown envelopes, not the law.
The "General" government (army) are in it as much as the local authorities and the BiB.
It is all about money
Don't forget: there is NO prostitution in Thailand.
Licenses for dart boards is the latest shake down.

Why not just give all the prostitutes an uniform with a couple of medals or ribbons each? That would make everything legal.
Good comment. I always say the mafia are easy to spot in Thailand as 99% wear (or used to wear) a uniform.

If someone went to the Basilica in Vatican City and hung their coat on the alter cross, does anyone think it would cause a SM frenzy?

I really doubt that she meant to be disrespectful or even knew that there was a chance that she could cause all this negative reaction.
You could be right, but she is ignorant and stupid non the less and deserves punishment for disrespect.

5000 baht each for as good as desecrating one of Thailand's major religious sites?
And a year in jail or 100,000 baht for dropping a cigarette end on a beach?
Thai law is upside down, even when it is enforced.
There is no excuse for Eastern Europeans (or anyone else) to not know the laws and basic cultural respect before they travel abroad.
Ignorance of the law is no defence.
They, and the two bum (showing) boys should have got a 5 year ban from returning also.

"a month in jail"?
Seriously?
Well not really, a night in the slammer and a 100,000 baht fine (like smoking on the beach) for sure.
It is extremely disrespectful after all.
What would she get in Arab countries for this type of offense, a 100 lashes or 10 years in jail?
Cheers, I hope you are well.

Can anyone confirm the Rice Gruel is translated as 'Jok' and not 'Joke' as I may have been writing it incorrectly for months.
It just shows up the Thai comprehension of English.
Puns are a good joke in Thai, just that this one doesn't work with their own pronunciation.

What are war weapons? These are only used by falangs? But reserved for the Junta?
The sort of weapons you can buy in any US Mall.

Problem is that very few fat pax have the sense to do it. They feel entitled to a piece of your seat.
Yep, discrimination has no bounds in these PC days.
I wonder what airlines do when a slimming club books a holiday flight for 150 obese passengers?

The one I always remember is hydrophobia, fear of water, cos it's so distinctive.
So Songkran will see this all over, as the dogs will drop dead?
I trust this was a bad joke...
As the infection progresses, someone infected with rabies may develop any of these symptoms:- irritability.
- excessive movements or agitation.
- confusion.
- hallucinations.
- aggressiveness.
- bizarre or abnormal thoughts.
- muscle spasms.
- abnormal postures.
Meltdown.......

The article says Harry had regular Thai insurance to ride the bike.
At his age he should have taken out a UK based travel insurance policy too though.
Motorbikes are dangerous machines, I know I've ridden bikes for many, many years in Thailand and elsewhere, but only had a few close shaves never a serious accident.
I wonder how fast he was going. If he is inexperienced in how bad Thai drivers are he might not have expected the lorry to pull out and caused the problem himself by not being able to stop or maneuver around the truck thinking he had been seen and that the driver would let him pass.
Sad story. Prosthetics are amazing these days so I hope he can live a fulfilling life when he recovers.
I wish him a speedy recovery...
And a big Well Done to the Immigration Department.

#MeToo
I've been molested at Songkran by men dressed as women, just like J K Rowling...
I have also been molested by genuine women in skimpy wet clothing...
What a load of rubbish. Don't get involved if you think you might not enjoy what happens.
The PC idiots want to take the "F" out of FUN.

I wonder what the PC LUBGT lot have to say?
Such nice honest people.
Just what a family resort needs.
And where were the BiB? Sat in a bar drinking for free?
TOT will have a problem spinning this along with all the other incidents and road carnage.

I agree plenty of on-line scams when it comes to the Thai girls, I've had more than a few try it on over the years.
When I wrote I look after her when I'm over there doesn't mean splashing the cash, I walk past gold shops not into them.
I know her mother has ongoing plans, tried to convince me to "buy" land in a mid north province from her brother, all that confirmed was that the TG's discuss their Farang guy and the family gives them advice on how to squeeze value.
I'm in no hurry to relocate, just considering it all as maybes, certainly never marrying again and risking my asset base; I don't want any dependents.
You sound clued in enough.
Remember to stick to safe sex though.

i don't mean payout as in cash but it's best to have 1st class insurance on your motors and yourself here. the mandatory 3rd class insurance that most have here i guess covers pretty much nothing as far as i know. serious accident or health problem and no money then your on your own. if there's any place to put insurance above all else this is it IMO
Have a look and you will see.

probably. 3rd party insurance here certainly isn't paying out a million baht
Pay out wasn't my point, but you are most likely right.

Err, you don't read the news then, or are just having a laugh...?
The latest is it will drop almost anywhere between latitude 65N and 33S.
Sarcasm is not easy to write.
It is a good bet it will drop in the water though... better odds then getting killed on Thai roads every day.
