Thailand reports first case of Omicron BA.2.75 sub-variant
ThailandRyan replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
How is it promoting panic. Just like the weatherman telling the forecast. You guys amaze me. -
Guess you do not check the links in the OP to get the entire story. It is not Clickbait as you like to say. From the link: "He added that the talks of collecting money from tourists is not true, and it is not to be implemented yet. “This issue has been pushed off ‘indefinitely’ we have been trying to access why do we need it,” he said."

It is however a great location as far as being retired with a family here. It is why we chose PKK. Close to BKK as it is only 2 hours and 30 minutes away, and it is nice and quiet. Not for those single guys who need the nightlife. Plus when the issues with Myanmar get better, we can always head over the hill to Myeik, Which has great beaches. Just need to use Mawdaung Pass off of AH12.

Pegasus spyware scandal returns to haunt Thai govt

Complete Orwellian government now on par with China and others -
So basically, what your saying is that you pay whatever is charged without ever questioning whether the price given was the price marked on the item, good to know you have more money than brains. People do not stay in the money by just throwing it away and not watching what they are charged my friend. Thai's shop by prices knowing what they can afford the majority of the time and if priced higher in one place go to another. Must drive you mad to see this.
-
God forbid a Thai woman gets overcharged while her foreign husband stands by, Have you ever listened to the wrath laid onto a cashier or staff by the Thai wife/GF. If you have you would not be throwing out your boring bastards moniker. One must always be on there toes with a Thai woman, you truly belief that life is boring for them with a foreigner, well you have not lived with a firebrand of a woman before.

Attrition
-
What has being overcharged at Makro got to do with a relationship unless your concerned the bargirls will be getting prices negotiated and bargained for as they are overpricing their products as well.
-
Surely a mistake to put the planned tourist tax on the back burner, or did they just up the dual pricing at National park's and elsewhere to Triple pricing. Enough is enough, and 10 million tourists by years end is a little far fetched with airlines canceling flights due to staff shortage and air fares rising. I saw yesterday that BA has also moved the restart of flights to Thailand into next year before. My Family just priced there trip here for December for 2 weeks from the US over the Christmas period and by staying with us for the two weeks the cost is the same for them as it was in 2018 with them staying in a nice hotel on the beach in Phuket for the 2 weeks. Instead they will be heading to Hawaii. Many more friends who would travel on a regular basis are now making just one trip for the 2022 year and rethinking plans for 2023.

Head to MBK Mall and look around, many shops have what you may want.

Not that far of a drive really from PKK, and a great weekend getaway, stop along the way in Krabi and you can make it a week trip.

NBTC Considering Use of Spam Blocking System among Phone Carriers
ThailandRyan replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
True has such a system, as I have been notified many times that a suspicious call or SMS has been marked as spam. -
Did not know you could shop in Makro without a card, actually I did. There are rewards given if you buy something they have some kind of special on. Additionally, the parking is free as they will scan your parking card at the register and off you go, no payment at the gate kiosk when leaving the parking lot, well in BKK at least.

Where have I disrespected you or anyone else in our discussions herein. I think your reading into the post way to much. Nobody has said anything about winning or loosing except for you. You do like to try and scrutinize everything which is good, but at the same time do not try and twist what I have said, just for your own edification. -

Your issue is you believe everyone including myself is fearful, we are not. Information overload seems to be your issue, not mine. I like seeing the updated Information. If it's too much for you then stop looking at it or making negative comments. Yes we need to move on, but Covid variants are a concern still, not out of the woods yet my friend. In fact the BMA just opened up two field hospitals to treat those with symptoms not requiring a hospital stay to reduce the numbers starting to build up on the covid treatment units. Just left a big hospital here in BKK and they were unloading new covid patients from a few ambulances onto the special acceptance area, all were PPE suited. Nice to see care is still being taken unlike elsewhere in the world. -

It matters to you so much to believe it only affects the older people who have comorbidities. You people amaze me. https://science.thewire.in/the-sciences/ba-2-75-sub-variant-new-covid-19-wave/ -
I thought after the great floods Bangkok had where the city was under water for days in some Area's the drain system was repaired, apparently not. Looking down from my lofty perch this morning I saw the new Hotel being developed near the Aetas Lumpini had all of the pilon holes filled with water and the workers using pumps to drain them so they could get the work completed before pouring the cement....
