https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/apr/25/trump-e-jean-carroll-rape-civil-new-york-case What will happen if Trump loses the sexual assault case? If the jury finds that Trump did rape or otherwise assault Carroll, it is likely to order him to pay damages. It will also mean that for the first time in US history, a jury will have found a former president is a rapist. Political scientists say it is unlikely to do much damage to Trump’s run for the Republican presidential nomination next year because his more ardent supporters regard the various legal cases against him as a conspiracy. But it will add to his already considerable political baggage in the general election and prove a further obstacle to re-election as president.

Trump to sit down with CNN in implicit dig at Fox
ThailandRyan replied to onthedarkside's topic in World News
I do not have any idea where you obtain your information from. Here are some links to show you even republicans as well as independents do not want him to run. Democrats on the other hand do and here is why: https://freebeacon.com/politics/trump-2024/ Barry Goodman, a Democratic donor who served on Biden's national finance committee during the 2020 campaign, recently told the Washington Post that he and many other party donors are "praying that Trump runs." Because Trump is an existential threat to democracy, Goodman argued, American voters "are not going to put that despot in office one more time," no matter who Democrats nominate in 2024. If that sounds familiar, it's because some Democrats made the exact same argument in 2016. https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/trump-should-not-run-for-president-in-2024-majority-of-americans-say more than six in 10 Americans do not want him to run in 2024, according to a new PBS NewsHour/NPR/Marist poll. https://news.yahoo.com/independents-saw-urgency-ousting-trump-115535818.html?soc_src=social-sh&soc_trk=tw&tsrc=twtr “I’ll get to the polls and get everybody out to the polls too,” said Copeland, a 67-year-old retiree who said she was aghast at the possible return to office of the 45th president. “It’s very important that Trump does not get back in.” -
Annual Covid-19 booster shots planned for Thailand this year
ThailandRyan replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
As off topic as this is regarding vaccines in Thailand, here is the information to correct your statement that Australia has banned AZ, they have phased them out not banned them. https://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/health/health-problems/astrazeneca-vaccine-discontinued-by-federal-government/news-story/b917f53dfbefa9342e9c3218724c58f8 The AstraZeneca Covid vaccine, sold under the brand name Vaxzevria, has not been available to the Australian public since March 20. The federal Department of Health and Aged Care confirmed the news in a statement to news.com.au, saying although the vaccine remains provisionally approved in the country, AstraZeneca has decided to “formally discontinue Vaxzevria in Australia”. According to the spokesperson, the last batch of pandemic supply stock expired on March 21, 2023. As far as Covid boosters with vaccines here is some news I found this morning if your in Bangkok, not the newest vaccines probably. https://www.nationthailand.com/thailand/general/40027083 Deputy governor Tavida Kamolvej on Friday officially opened a temporary vaccination unit on the 6th floor in Zone D of the MBK Centre shopping mall. -
As I said it is his MOU or SOP, Standard Operating Procedure, and the Memorandum of Understanding he has with his attorneys working for him. As my old partner in LE used to say, Throw enough feces at the wall eventually something will stick. Trumps attorneys lately have been falling short in getting cases stopped, folks kept from testifying and well to be honest he has a lot to loose.
-
He could ask for anything and everything as it has been his practice to stall cases for years and years. It is the tried and true Trump MOU when it comes to him and his lawsuits, string it along, throw tantrums, obtain continuances etc.....It will not work. He will then appeal to a higher court to have the case thrown out, or wait has he not already tried that.

I just saw where he appeared at a diner and gave an already jailed and released insurrectionist a hug, signed her back pack and indicated he supported her. How much deeper can he dig his own hole. Trump hugs convicted Jan. 6 rioter who called for executing members of Congress: report - Raw Story - Celebrating 19 Years of Independent Journalism Former President Donald Trump met with convicted January 6 Capitol rioter, Micki Larson-Olson in New Hampshire Thursday, praising her and giving her a hug before signing her backpack, reported The Washington Post. "Listen, you just hang in there. You guys are gonna be okay," Trump told Larson-Olson, a Texas woman who was sentenced to 180 days in jail for resisting police orders last year. Larson-Olson is unrepentant for her actions. And in an interview with Hillyard last year, she called for the execution of anyone who certified the 2020 election. "[Members of Congress] were domestic terrorist inside our Capitol, and I'm going to prove it in my trial," said Larson-Olson. "Our Congress that's been stealing elections for a very long time. Our country's been under admiralty law since 1871."

+1 on your post. I lived through the same situation, but luckily I was young enough to start again and had a Plan C. My half Thai/American daughter lives with her mother in the US with the man my now ex cheated on me with. He has now also built a McMansion next to the house I had built in Issan, and the ex's parents are now living in our old house which has been put in the daughters name. Luckily, the ex only obtained the minor assets here in Thailand and not in the US. Does not sound like the OP has indicated if he has anything to fall back on, and I feel bad for him because starting over at his age after you thought you had it figured out is tough.

The media's 'Biden Protection Program' is back
ThailandRyan replied to Social Media's topic in World News
I know it is hard for people to understand, but a President is always managed to one degree or another. It is when they do as they please and go off script that it causes issues not only for the country but for the staff as they try and do damage control. -
Annual Covid-19 booster shots planned for Thailand this year
ThailandRyan replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Why not, one in one arm the other in the other. https://www.cdc.gov/flu/prevent/coadministration.htm You can get a flu vaccine and a COVID-19 vaccine at the same visit if you are due for both vaccines. This is an option. -
Annual Covid-19 booster shots planned for Thailand this year
ThailandRyan replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
As I surmised nearly a year ago that we would be seeing an annual booster shot for Covid just like we do for influenza, it appears I was correct. I already obtain an annual Flu jab, which I did this past month. Waiting on a true newly developed booster to be developed and shipped out before I obtain another Covid booster. -
Thai Unemployment Rate Dips Below 1% in February

Please explain the many other folks who are not working now or in the previous jobs where they were paid under the table as they are still closed, or better yet those folks were never reported as working. -

It is not being recycled. It appears that a poster found the OP and added a post which then brought it back on-line, and then many like yourself keep adding to it , just like I just did. A pool is a pool and dependent on what size you want it may cost more than the neighbors, especially if you have features added like a waterfall. Dual pricing? I have not seen it in my neck of the woods.

Does your Thai partner know much about history outside of Thailand?
ThailandRyan replied to sharksy's topic in General Topics
Just spent the last hour with the large World Globe on the Kitchen table and the GF's daughter and I playing find the Country. She was able to find all but Green Land. As a student who attends a Wat School, she is far above the rest of her classmates when it comes to Geography, Math and English. Her close friend asked her why she was learning about the world, and the daughter told her "So I know where I want to travel when I am a doctor to help people" -
The media's 'Biden Protection Program' is back
ThailandRyan replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Well to be honest, while working a protective detail for a now former Senator, we traveled to over 15 places in 20 days, and I could not remember where the next to last place had been. Biden is not the first or last person to loose track of where he/she has been in a short period of time when many locales are visited. -

Does your Thai partner know much about history outside of Thailand?
ThailandRyan replied to sharksy's topic in General Topics
Changed to remove historical stories because of new found evidence and then to remove from history the illicit deeds like slavery and so on. To change history to meet a political agenda is wrong on so many levels. Learning from history is how we change things moving forward. Burying the unwanted history just allows for it to resurface in another guise. -
As far as I can see, unless you have a Work Permit or or are on a Diplomatic passport for your country and meet those exceptions being a foreign resident is not what a LTR Visa gives us as we are not considered to be a foreign resident. To be a foreign resident in Thailand you need to have applied for Permanent Residency through the Thai Permanent Residency program attained through the Royal Thai Immigration Commission. https://www.thaiembassy.com/thailand-visa/permanent-residence-thailand

With all of the reported information over the last several days of declining tourism, high flight costs, etcetera, I find the numbers they are predicting to be a wish and a hope, but then maybe the new start-up airlines will ferry millions into the country.
