  1. Thank you @Pib I know many have been waiting to see what help these agents can give them with the needed paperwork and acting as a go between. Folks need to remember that these agents will be held to the letter of the policy which BOI has for issuing these Visas.
  2. Well as usual unless you can post a verifiable link which supports your view, "that they will be taking there masks down" if wearing them, then we shall agree to disagree and I will move on instead of reading the unverified non scientific information you are providing. In fact looking at a few news articles such as the one linked below it appears that Covid monitoring will be continued even in the US as well as other countries surrounding us here including Thailand. https://www.stltoday.com/lifestyles/health-med-fit/cdc-monitoring-of-covid-19-will-remain-a-priority/article_e6d225ef-6cfd-5f9b-903b-93d243a048ce.html, "Monitoring the impact of COVID-19 and the effectiveness of prevention and control strategies continues to be a public health priority during the transition from the emergency phase of the COVID-19 response to routine public health practice," Silk and colleagues write.
  3. Just because it was not discussed today does not mean in another week as cases seem to be moving upwards that it wont become a possibility. At the school today almost all of the parents were wearing masks along with there children. Since they have been away from school now for almost 8 weeks and away from each other it made sense to me and why we were masked up. BTW so was the school staff.
  4. Picked up the daughters new school uniforms today at her school in preparation for class starting on next Tuesday. The School director and the nurse were present and it was explained to us that they would still be providing hand sanitizer and washing stations as well as doing thorough class room, bathroom and eating area cleanings daily. No mention of masks were made.
  5. Wow, may he RIP and my condolences to his family. The police should be able to trace the GPS signal from his phone if they have the information for it. Lets hope the girl is found and the case solved.
  6. Succinct and on-point. Thank you for the concise post.
  7. Unless I am going to a high end event my watches, which I got from a dead friend, stay in my safe, and I only wear my cheap digital watch which measures my steps. My phone costs the same as some of the higher end cheap watches.
  8. Guess he did not utilize a lock box, I wonder sometimes how folks can be so Naïve. My guess is she did not live in the condo but was a guest of someone else and he caught her on her way out originally and obtained her contact info. Just supposition on my part. Why travel with high end watches or even wear gold out and about. Prime targets. And a shower in the middle of the night? Did he mean when they got in from being out, or he just always gets up and showers in the middle of the night, I am a little confused with this part......
  9. I know we where hoping to see the new curriculum rolled out at the Wat School the stepdaughter goes to in BKK but as the article says it was not. The Government Education Ministry program has had plenty of time to find new books and move forward. My view is that they want to keep it as it is and not let the students truly learn what the world truly is about. Students need to learn about world geography and world history, not just learn about the old Thailand and everything within the countries borders. The internet has opened up the step-daughters eyes and she readily asked questions and watches stories about the different countries. Happy she will be starting class next week finally as she will keep her teachers on there toes with questions, or maybe they will try and close her eyes and ears and tell her what she has seen is all fake.
  10. Yet in another OP running the revenue department is retracing its words.....oh what a tangled web which has been weaved.
  11. Sounds like someone got caught with there pants down after telling folks about the proposal. Hard to not post a retraction, but whose head will now be on the chopping block for letting this out. Someone is tip toeing around the story and trying to save some FACE it appears by blaming a law passed 40 years ago.
  12. Left scratching my head on this new proposed policy. One wonders what the finances in the country truly are and how much is left in the coffers. Should be someone who has the information to step forward with the info and a reason a true reason, why this policy is being discussed. The more that stuff like this arises, at least to me, it makes tourists in my view just shake there heads and choose to go elsewhere. Soon there will be no Visa Exempt arrivals if they keep going this way.
  13. You must be in Hua Hin, because I did that here in December. I had to return to the little office in the back as I got to the car as she had given me another persons certificate of residence in the envelope she gave me. My mistake for not checking it as she handed it to me. The amount of paperwork needed here is amazing.
  14. I have yet to see the country fully and truly return to peace and happiness. Thailand's been caught in a cycle of conflict during its last several decades. Somehow they need someone who is capable of uniting the masses including the old-school folks and the younger folks. This country has been divided not only in its politics but by a long standing not spoken of class system.
  15. As a side note to the above referenced video, the information is from the beginning of the new LTR Process. Within the past few months the BOI has codified how the shortfall must be covered, and many are finding they need to purchase the annuity or to use property (Condo) as the backstop. I would caution one to rely only on information they obtained from a BOI representative, in todays time frame, to ensure they have the right information. @Pibis a good source of information as he does have his finger on the pulse for this class of Visa.
  16. I am filled with sadness to hear about the passing of Ubon Joe. He was a great man, and was very helpful throughout all of my trials and tribulations with Visa related issues, questions and of course how to navigate the 90 day on-line application. Looking back through all my PM's with him, I found we connected no less than 30 times over the past many years. In each of the PM's he was on-point with all of the information he gave and was always a true gentleman. When I had to change visas from a Non-Imm O to an O-A visa he directed me as to where I could find all of the new requirements which were arriving in 2019. Without his guidance, and Thai Visa at the time as it was then known, I would have been completely lost. May Joe RIP and my sincerest condolences to his family and friends.
  17. Can you please show me where I can find the information which can corroborate your last 3 lines. Finding it hard to find any links to verify your statements, or are the last 3 lines a personal view? I mean I am truly interested to see the truth behind what you have written. I am no fan of the man, but my view is that he did more for the country and moved it forward where the current folks have set it back at least a decade.
  18. Never underestimate the social networking which is being followed closely and arrests made by this government over those posts, or have you not been paying attention to the news etc....over the past 5 plus years.
  19. Yet you just hit the proverbial nail on the head.
  20. Please tell me how, sans a full scale revolution that would have been ended quickly by the government in power, that what you say could be accomplished in this country. I guess you did not see the arrests of the protestors and charges laid for things that took them out of the spotlight, with a few still being in jail, yet not convicted.
