  1. Nailed it...good succinct write up.
  2. The basterdized version it would appears draws in billions of tourists and gazzilions in money.....
  3. I expect to take 2 dumps a day, so if each traveler does so, well then the sewers will be overworked....font need the sewage spilling out onto the beaches after the buffets have been decimated...
  4. In HH proper they did, out here south of town where we live, about 15km south, it was great. We drove out to the beach at Khao Takiab beach where we could see the fireworks back in HH. Other than that it was nice. The traffic up on Hwy 4 was busy as we headed south afterwards as well as during the day yesterday and it's already starting this morning as people leave from south of us and drive into HH to return to BKK. The Train would have been the ticket for some, but then it is slow. Here's a station not far from us. Not many use this Station. It is new.
  5. It seems that Trump knew his fan base and others did not believe it until to late. That's why he was able to spout his rhetoric and incite the people to do as he wanted. The mans a true conman and yet folks still don't believe it.
  6. Exactly, I thought that everything from Prayut and Prawits mouths was Top 10 fake news.
  7. Try again, since China, is still, and has, been testing inbound and there own citizens going outbound. In China it has never truly stopped.
  8. So your saying the US started all of this new testing? That's laughable. Tell me how and why....
  9. They say that one day you look into the mirror and say "Holy crud, I am my father". Looking back at my fathers life I definitely do things, well certain things, and have certain mannerisms which are identical.....sigh.
  10. Ouch, and glad I decided to stay here at the house in HH/PKK and not head to the condo until next week.
  11. Into bed by 9pm, read a little and by 9:30pm the lights are out. Awake at 6am after 8 or so hours of sleep, refreshed, grab a cup of coffee from the Expresso machine, and by 7am out of the house for a 7 to 10 km walk to the Beach, around the lake and then back home by 8:15 am or so. Work in the yard to clean up the fallen leaves, and then clean the pool. Eat Breakfast by 9:30 am and then at 11 take a nice long swim by doing my 40 up and back laps in the 14m x 6m pool. Life is good when your well rested. Not yet at the stage like my father where he would go to bed at 7pm and wake up at 3 am.................................
  12. Your funny. Integrated into Thai society by marrying a Thai and having a half Thai daughter, learned the language, I read the local papers, I watch the Thai news and the only interaction I had with another foreigner the first 10 years I was in the outer Issan province of Udon Thani, Nong Saeng, was when a friend would pop in and we would play checkers once a week. Father in-law was a Phu Yai, BIL was a Police Lt. Col. Neighbor was the local Thai Post manager. I involved myself in my community worked on projects with the locals and helped where I could. 12 years later I divorced, but still keep in touch with the family as I have a half Thai daughter. I have lived on Phuket (in Rawaii and Chalong to be exact), Lived in Chiang Mai, Lived in Udon Thani towards Wang Sam Mo, and then towards Nong Bua Lamphu, Lived in Nonthaburi then moved to Bangkok Where I own a Condo, I also split the time between it and PKK where we have a house here in Southern HH/Pranburi. Far from the honeymoon phase I do believe, and after many of extensions of stay for a Non Imm-O and O-A, went and obtained the new LTR-WP 10 year visa, so no more online 90 day reports for me which were pretty eeasy to do as well as going to CW also painless, now I have a multiple entry in and out for the life of the Visa, and as we travel all over the country and in and out life is good. I have properties in the US that I rent out and will never tire of Thailand like you seem to have. Some folks let bad experiences define them, others like myself and those I know let it roll and moved on. Life is too short to be bitter, I retired at 52, still had my own company which I have just closed. Enjoy, you sound like someone who can not let the past go and move forward.
  13. Yep you'll get a tick that never goes away and you either will twitch uncontrollably or be sucked dry of your blood and money....no thanks.
  14. Negative on some of Thailands things that are not completely true and yet you give it a broad brush and make it as completely true. Have you ever traveled outside of Pattaya and Bangkok. Apparently not. You posted: "Though, it does have it's pitfalls: too hot most of the year, bad air pollution, destroyed nature, fake people, racism, bad food n drink, deadly roads, difficult government ministries to deal with (immigration, work) etc etc" The nature in many areas are unspoiled, the beaches uncrowded, never seen a fake person, food is great and so are the people, the air pollution is only bad in certain locations (current PM 2.5 here in PKK is 2 at the house with blue skies birds singing etccccc.) and then no issues with the government ie. Immigration or others. YMMV, but your very misinformed. On the other hand the US has turned into a feces hole.
  15. That's a sad sight and they either have a problem or it's the only social activity they have.
  16. You are not Correct. If he shows up with his new PP and the old passport, where he was only given a few months on the extension due to the passports expiration, they will re-stamp his new passport for the full term of the original extension. I just went through this with my housekeepers extension as her passport expired in November and her 1 year extension would have been dated until March 30th of next year. She obtained her new passport, we went to immigration and they stamped her new passport with all of her previous stamps and the new extension which ends on March 30, 2023. No issues.
  17. Do you do stand up comedy for a living. You can be prepared for another pandemic, which no one was ready for this one. The devastating consequences were from Covid spreading and trying to keep the hospitals and infrastructure from being overrun. Please tell me who is not concerned or obsessed about there health and welfare and I will show you a fool. You really do not understand anything about human nature it appears and definitely fail to see why we are in the land of a repeat occurring because of Chinas failure to disclose meaningful information. Without this information, proper fail safes can not be put in place and even updated vaccines (much like annual flu jabs are updated) can not be created without knowing the variants that are running about. This may be of no concern to you and if that is true then you are definitely a fool to believe your immune system and lifestyle will keep you healthy as things break loose.
  18. Sounds like they are heading towards the way Thai Elite runs there Elite Visa program....
  19. Why would your funds run out as you enter your 60's and later on. Do people not have pensions to live on from their home countries? or are those that are skint and living satang to satang that way because they worked very little, lived off others and then <deleted> it all away? I understand that not everyone prepares for the waning years, and some have had a hard life, but if you can not make it in Thailand then you sure as hell can not make it back in your own home country.
  20. Will someone just pinch these simpleton and wake them up from this dream they are having.
  21. Nothing your hero the Donald does is a conspiracy theory, it's all the truth according to Trumps Maga followers.
  22. Mandatory Interlock system for the drivers vehicle with mandatory alcohol intervention classes for the driver and then 30 days of assisting the families of the innocent killed by a drunk driver. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ignition_interlock_device
  23. Welcome to 2023 a feeling of reverse time travel is creeping in. My kids in the US all have Covid and are down sick for New Years. They all went to my ex's house for Christmas dinner and she was sick but did not tell anyone. She is also a covid denier and Anti vaxxer who has had it 3 times now, the first time she was hospitalized for a month......
  24. Could place your Hero Trump on the moon base as its first President.
