Security Check Before Flight.
Happened to me once about 10 years ago, flying NCL-DXB-BKK. They were doing a lot of construction at the time so assumed that was the reason. Flew the same route a month ago and no security check in Dubai.

6 Border Checkpoints & 10 Cross-Border Trade Points with Cambodia to Close Amid Tensions
Consensus on the current climate is that questions may be asked, directives spouted, or even entry refused when flying in on a 2nd consecutive 60 day VE. I was taken to the 'naughty corner' when I flew back in on my 2nd VE last year. After that, spent 6 months in the UK. Flew back in a month ago and was given the 3rd degree at the immigration desk; can't risk being denied entry if I fly back in after a week in PP again. All this crap because I wanted to take a year off after working in China for 6 years (stuck there for 3 years during COVID) to visit my family in the UK and have an extended holiday in Thailand.

6 Border Checkpoints & 10 Cross-Border Trade Points with Cambodia to Close Amid Tensions
I've checked the main 2 visa run companies and nothing on their websites as yet. The checkpoints that they both use are going to be closed. Rather annoying but personally I'll be OK for a couple of months so hopefully it won't last that long. This on top of spoiling my week in Phnom Penh. Can't even fly back in without paying exorbitant bribes to corrupt officials.

Norway Halts Income Letters at Thai Embassy; Retirees Affected
The ฿800k is not a 'bond'. It is to ensure that a retiree has enough funds to pay for living expenses for the duration of their permission of stay; a period of 1 year.

Anyone bought a (decent) office chair from Lazada?
Finally gave up on chairs and stole my stepson's weightlifling bench. Still going strong. The padding is still quite comfortable after a few years. Rated at 300kg Tried a cheaper alternative. Not so strong but good enough for a large Thai wife. Even then, you can hear it creaking all the time. Rated at 200kg I think. Considering buying some of these for the kitchen / shop area. Just search Lazada for 'park bench'. All just north or south of ฿1000.

Anyone bought a (decent) office chair from Lazada?
Looks very similar to the one my wife bought me about 10 years ago. ฿4500 from a shop on the top floor of MBK. Unfortunately, although it looks sturdy, the wheels joints are very weak. After a couple of them snapped, we got the local chang to weld them in place but after the others went it became unmovable. Something to think about if you're on the heavy side.

Cambodia Outshines Thailand in Race for Chinese Tourists
Remember the story of the Chinese tourist, who was extorted by the police for vaping, that went viral in China? There are about 300 million smokers in China with vaping becoming more popular by the day. If only 10% of those switched to vapes then that is a potential 30 million tourists that Thailand has lost due to it's idiotic, draconian, protectionist anti-vaping laws; just another nail in the coffin.

Anyone bought a (decent) office chair from Lazada?
Don't buy this one. ฿380 and supposedly rated for 800kg. Collapsed when my 75kg fat wife sat on it for a few days.

Motorbike for a 16 year old?
When he's older, more mature and can afford his own motorbike. He'll also realise the value of working for something. If you buy him it, he'll just do the Thai thing of not taking care of it and will try every which way but loose to destroy it.

The burning question is 'Is it worth either price?' I'm not familiar with this beer 🤔

Controversy and Cancellation Loom Over GB News’s ‘Headliners’ Comedy Show
This show was a breath of fresh air when it first came along. Some real insight, with a dose of humour, given by the likes of Simon Evans, Nick Dixon, Leo Kearse, Josh Howie, Cressida Wetton and many more. Lots of controversial Jewish comedians on there which is probably the main reason the libs hate it.

Old police shows
He flourished after he was mentored by another great character actor. The late, great Ronnie Barker. You can really tell the difference when you look at some of David Jason's earlier efforts. This one isn't even listed on his Wikipedia page 😂

Tax-Free Wine Boom in Thailand Spurs Costs and Controversy
If there are no tariffs on imported wine, how come I can buy a bottle of Yellow Tail in China for less than ฿350? I remember the price because, a few years ago, China whacked a 200% tariff on Australian wine in revenge for them joining the AUKUS defence pact. I had to resort to Chinese wines like the awful 'Great Wall', which was similarly priced, or even worse...French wine 🤪

Tax-Free Wine Boom in Thailand Spurs Costs and Controversy

While we're on the topic 🤪 Have you (or anyone else) tried Coles Mayonnaise? It's on sale at Tops ATM, 525g for ฿95 and comes in a squeezy bottle as well.

Sodium ion batts arrive on the scene!
What the article doesn't mention is the low energy density of the sodium-ion batteries. This is due to sodium having an atomic number / weight of 23 vs lithium's 7, so the batteries will have to be over 3 times heavier to deliver the same power; not ideal for moving vehicles 🤔

Sodium ion batts arrive on the scene!
Nope. Sodium-ion batteries are less prone to thermal runaway due to their more stable chemistry.
