  1. Maybe Iran's supporters are thrill seekers who enjoy the idea of being stoned for adultery, or thrown off the top of buildings for same sex relationships.
  2. Oh dear. If you feel the need to respond kindly do so with a modicum, at least, of knowledge and intelligence.
  3. Yes indeed. All we have so far is the opinion of some highly dubious 'experts', plus Mr. Macron.
  4. This will result in a huge loss of tax revenue. How do Labour intend to replace the loss ?
  5. It's a perfectly fair question, nothing whatsoever to do with the blame game. Having lived and worked in West Africa I can assure you there are African families who remain wealthy to this day from trading fellow Africans as slaves. Additionally, there are very few, if any, Western people alive today who have been involved in slavery. Why should they be asked to pay for the actions of their ancestors, especially when it was many of those ancestors who brought about an end to slavery ? If there was a case for reparations Brits would have legitimate claims against, among others, the Romans, the Vikings, and the Norman French. The fact is there is no case, whatsoever.
  6. Not sure if age is the factor which affects the way we respond on AN. More likely most people simply react to issues with which they have become familiar during their lifetime.
  7. It would be good if this is to be a peaceful protest allowing a free expression of views. The current situation in Thailand is awkward, to put it mildly, given that the PM appears to be mainly a mouthpiece for her father and his questionable objectives.
  8. I doubt that given that DJT has now demonstrated a command of the English language which dates back to the 15th century and, in the process, probably earned himself a few million more votes when he runs for a third term.
  9. If Catholics are offended they should perhaps be reminded that worshipping an image is idolatry.
  10. Only smoked one joint in my 83 years of life, in the UK in the late 1950s so your suggestion is irrelevant in my case. However, I have no objection to others doing so, in public if they wish, and I do not find the aroma unpleasant.
  11. The Biden family have a lot to answer for.
  12. No evidence that the UK makes any attempt, feeble or otherwise, to catch the incoming hordes. They are assisted ashore by the so-called border force, then given free hotel accomodation, and then given a host of other benefits.
  13. Sounds like Crystal meth+alcohol+depression. His behaviour suggests that he should not be travelling, and should be under care/supervision in his home country.
  14. Yes indeed. You must smell it differently to others. Strange.
  15. If the driver was not told by the customer before accepting the ride that she had no cash, and if he was subsequently kept waiting for 30 minutes at the end of the ride while the customer tried to obtain cash, then my sympathy is with the driver.
  16. The scent of smoked cannabis is far better than the smell of cigarette smoke.
  17. Somsak clarified that 'the current measures are not politically motivated'. I wonder how many people believe that.
  18. Well done the USA. A well planned, well implemented exercise. A credit to all those involved.
  19. He did indeed create Red bull, but he is not famous.
  20. Intelligence is not easy to quantify. In my lifetime I've known highly qualified people who are not very bright, and uneducated people who are very smart.
  21. Won't happen. Today's Brits are spineless. The UK is descending into a hell hole.
  22. General Douglas MacArthur offered to nuke China during the Korean war. He was refused.
  23. A good move by the USA. There are risks, of course, but they are outweighed by the potential reward of preventing the current Iranian regime from arming itself with nuclear weaponry.
