  1. Happy gangsters. If these new regulations are implemented they will be able to resume their underground business.
  2. The RTP are delighted at the prospect of re-criminalisation. They will be able to both hit the shops for tea money, and renew their relationships with the underground dealers.
  3. Strictly speaking, sincere regrets for my serious error.
  4. Disgracefully late but at least the initial cover-up is now being uncovered.
  5. Ever since the fear of climate change began to be forced upon us weather people have started to adopt a dramatic tone when forecasting on TV or radio. All rather pathetic.
  6. 83 years old, enlarged prostate but otherwise ok. No health insurance. If and when I become terminally ill I have told my Thai family under no circumstances to seek medical help. Just keep me at home, on painkillers if necessary, until I expire.
  7. Strictly speaking it's an annual extension, not a visa renewal. Personally I prefer to leave 800k baht in an SCB account, untouched for many years, and to front up for an annual extension at CW without any recourse to an agent. Usually takes a couple of hours, wiith no hassle.
  8. The low season so not entirely surprising. However, the Thai govt policy of favouring high numbers of low spending tourists was always going to result in a decline in a profitable nightlife
  9. Red light districts of any major city tend to be rough.
  10. Labour look like a bunch of clueless beginners. Having said that the Tories who preceded them were also useless. Lord help us Brits !
  11. Good to hear from you and from Bday Prang. We have 6 cats and 5 dogs at our place in Rayong. We have a walled garden but the dogs and the younger cats often take off when the front gates are open. We have never lost one of them in over 10 years. In Bangkok we have a female Tabby, Tiger, who mainly lives outside. Some years ago she lost a rear leg in a roof fan but is still doing well. My advice earlier was really for those who live in busy, built up areas, with traffic, where the dangers to pets are numerous. A TB.
  12. Should she have known that she was about to be hit by a bus speeding on the wrong side of the road ?
  13. Absent the customary report that the cobra was returned safely to the wild.
  14. A very sad occurrence for the little cat and it's owner. If your cats, or other animals, get outside their chances of survival are slim. You either need to be 100% sure that they are confined indoors at all times (which most cats don't like), or that a secure space is constructed for them outdoors, preferably within a high walled garden. Care for our animal friends can become an expensive exercise, best not attempted without full security measures being put in place
  15. Ignorant nonsense from beginning to end. As for your description of Amsterdam as a 'criminal, scum infested, cesspit of a place ' I suggest you should withdraw that comment at your earliest convenience.
  16. Good food, friendly people, warm weather, warm women.
  17. The govt is in chaos. There is a strong possibility that the new regulations will not be implemented.
  18. Illegal businesses ? I don't believe so. Also, drug dealers investing in transport and mules is not what is being discussed here. Perhaps you should read more on this subject.
  19. 'Fortunately my wife was never a bar girl' you say. I have friends who have been happily married to former bar girls for many years. Your comment is deplorable.
