    For the arrested workers this is more a violation of visa and work permit laws than an infringement of regulations regarding cannabis. Remains to be seen if the Thai business owner had the necessary permits to process cannabis.

    Going back to 1962, when I first arrived, rules regarding foreigners in Thailand were always enforced.

    83 years old, and living mainly in Bangkok for over 40 years, and until recently a cigarette smoker (now down to 1 small cigar per day), so far so good. No lung issues.

    In happier times. a long time ago, immigration officials, if requested, would visit the homes of sick and disabled foreigners for the purpose of granting extensions of stay etc.

    If you are seriously trying to pretend that successive governments in Kyev did not harass and intimidate Russian speakers in eastern Ukraine you are kidding yourself. Know your subject before you sound off about it.

    Good question. I would suggest humans will survive the animals but will then turn on each other.

    Agreed. In a natural world their numbers would be limited by predation. As it stands humans are replacing wildlife in many countries.

    Very few people care what Khan thinks about a Trump visit, or what he thinks abou any other issue for that matter.

    Ukraine is one of the most corrupt countries in the world. Millions of dollars contributed by foreign countries in support of Ukraines's war effort have disappeared. Over the years Kyev governments have treated Russian speakers in eastern Ukraine with brutality. These, and other issues, are conveniently played down by most people in the western media. Worth bearing this in mind by those aiming to negotiate a cessation of hostilities.

    Very strange that successive British governments are negotiating to reward Mauritius, over a thousand miles distant from the Chagos islands, if latter agrees to a leasehold type deal for Diego Garcia. Surely any negotiation should be with the Chagosian people ?

    Now 83, I retired to Thailand in1993 having lived and worked in Europe, the Middle East, West Africa and East Asia. Thailand, while far from perfect, is a good place to live by comparison with most other countries. Friendly people, good food and warm weather. As to your reference to a lack of 'soul', you will generally not find it unless you form a close relationship with a Thai person. Thais are not habitually demonstrative in that regard.

    Too many polls these days. In this case, popular or not, labour has a huge majority and will serve its' full term. Polls are irrelevant at this point and, anyway, are quite often inaccurate.

    I reckon Richard Tice has a broader appeal to voters than Nigel Farage. The major issue for Reform, though, is how to overcome the first past the post electoral system. They have won millions of votes but only have a handful of seats in parliament. It will take a huge, unprecedented swing in their direction for them to win outright power.

    In my case 83, first arrived in Thailand in 1962. Less cranky than I once was according to my wife.

    Foreigners were much better behaved 25 years ago, and even better behaved 50 years ago.
