Thaksin suffering “fatigue and stress” in hospital : Paetongtarn
Scouse123 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Nobody is interested except his immediate family and cronies. They are trying to keep his profile newsworthy. The way the Thais play smoke and mirrors, I could well see him regretting his return to Thailand. As far as his Covid and stress are concerned, the prison is full of people in a far worse condition than he is. It's now so repetitive, it's completely boring. He wants them to circumvent the laws of the country for him. I can't see it happening. He's played all his cards and he's convicted, in custody and out of aces. -

The days of military coups in Thailand are gone : Sutin
Scouse123 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
No coups if they keep toeing the line. And that's it in a nutshell. 9 wasted years of nothingness by a set of people so arrogant they think they have done a good job.- 70 replies

Courts agrees to hear Thai celebrity’s “wig pulling” case
Scouse123 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
It's a shame they having nothing better to do with their time other than frivolous lawsuits. -
Perhaps Thailand needs to have a closer look at its own fisheries practices and safeguards instead of jumping on the Chinese bandwagon and singling out Japan for checks, a country which is highly regarded when it comes to safety and health of others. China and Thailand attempting to vilify Japan for releasing water now deemed safe into the Oceans. These are two countries that don't have an exemplary track record when it comes to the well being and safety of their own citizens at the best of times.

Marijuana and Alcohol Fueled Brutal Fight: Drunk Biker Stabs Girlfriend
Scouse123 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Pathetic and ill informed people attempting to use Cannabis as an excuse for a violent attack, and I don't use any of these substances, but I am aware of them and their effects from my younger days. More likely a case of the usual methamphetamine and cheap Thai whisky will probably be the root cause coupled with Thai males and fragile egos. It shows a certain ignorance naivety blaming them on Cannabis use when those making these claims probably have no idea of the effects of cannabis, but are attempting to use it as an excuse because the substance is trendy as a topic and recently in the news a lot. -

Petition submitted against Thaksin seeking Royal pardon
Scouse123 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
In the murky world of Thai politics there is time yet for things to unravel for Thaksin. I think a lot of the support and fan-base has dwindled. Pheu Thai has betrayed its followers and they are not the all powerful party that they were before,Their power is greatly diluted and they are in a large coalition, many of who do not like Thaksin. He is now in the clutches of the establishment and has been sentenced by the Supreme Court. He could have made a huge mistake with his calculated risk of returning. Only time will tell, but it may not be the foregone conclusion everybody is expecting. He's played his cards and is now in Thai custody. However, I do think that in Thailand just like any country in the world the people will get bored or " full up of Thaksin's circus " with the whole affair and lose interest. Then it will drop out of the news or at least be deemed not as newsworthy. As a footnote, every prisoner has the right to seek a King's Royal pardon. It usually takes years and years and travels painstakingly slow as it progresses through the system. Of course, it will be short circuited by a man of his power, money and means to get this matter dealt with a lot quicker than the average Joe. -
I gave up with those green and yellow and equivalent taxi guys years ago, They are too hit and miss between good and bad cars and drivers. I must admit I have used Grab but only when somebody else I am travelling with has called them. Myself, whenever I am in Bangkok i am usually going from airport to airport or airport to city I pre book my cars. Those with a green reg plate from a car rental service company.. I always get a Toyota fortuner or equivalent and I get a nice, safe, peaceful ride. Yes, I pay more and it's worth it to me. But I still pay less than the limousine counters in the airport. Unbelievable that they are so delusional that they are now trying to tell the public what to do and how to behave as well as tipping expectations .

He never reached the prison, he was taken straight to the Medical corrections hospital adjacent to the prison and then airlifted out 12 hours later to the Police hospital. -

Well, I have found more that profess themselves to be gentlemen are in fact the biggest crooks, liars and cheats in society ranging from the top politicians to bankers, lawyers and solicitors.............let alone pimps running whorehouses in Pattaya pretending it's a noble profession to be admired. Scum of the earth most of them.

PM to look into extending tourist visas to 90 days
Scouse123 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Unless they limit the visa exempt of 90 days to say only one per year. Just saying because none of us know yet, You can guarantee that those basically using every trick in the book now to stay here without the correct permits/visas will jump on this. Border runs will be back on the table big time. -
Pheu Thai Popularity Rating Drops To 10%: Sripatum Poll
Scouse123 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I don't follow their politics that much because it's a waste of space, but I thought I read somewhere that Prayut had loaded the Senate with certain posts that had to be given to the military and the Senate had to have so many seats reserved for the military?. -
