  1. Can’t touch type and it doesn’t matter. Should think quite a few on Aseannow know DOS because they’re of such vintage age-wise that their first introduction to PC’s was on DOS.
  2. Strange sense of humour. 250฿ a day is around 7,500฿ a month. It would be limiting but not impossible to live on. Depending on location rent could be 3-5000฿, utilities 1000฿ (electric 750฿, water 50฿), the rest on food at home either self-cooked or street food takeaway, and transport. Not much scope for paid entertainment but overall doable.
  3. Not in massage places in Thailand.

  5. Seemingly not here on Aseannow judging by some smug, self-satisfied posters who sneer at those who may not be too flush, financially..
  6. Meat and two veg. Cod and chips. Boiled beef and carrots. And loads more but the question is quite likely a p*ss taking joke.
  7. Not BKK specific but do a search on Lazada for ‘luggage wheels’, there’s a host of them. It would be self-repair though.
  8. You may be correct but my understanding is a professional editor ensures everything in an author’s manuscript is properly in place. Perhaps I’m wrong ????
  9. re Project Gutenberg they don’t accept contemporary works but have a self publishing portal that does. It’s at self.projectgutenberg.com Going back to my own book on Amazon. After release date it sold a handful a day for a few months then tailed off. Thereafter it came up for a major award and that helped a bit even though it didn’t win. I tried Facebook ads for a while. They worked well to begin with but proved expensive and the fees were on a recurring monthly basis. Not good. I also did promotions occasionally on Amazon Kindle, dropping the selling price over public holidays. This brought in a few more pennies. I’ve stopped doing them now though. In conclusion a hugely significant thing I’ve learned is: judicious editing is essential before putting a book out. Really it would be best to employ an editor but even on somewhere like Fiverr it could prove very costly.
  10. Interesting topic. Pity the OP felt the need to start by insulting writers or would-be writers in suggesting there are ego issues for doing it. I published a book on Amazon 4 years ago in both digital (Kindle) and hard copy formats. It’s non-fiction and is in English. Sales are minimal, just a couple a month, but they’ve been and continue to be made worldwide. I’ve had sales in USA, UK, Japan, Italy, Germany, Ireland and I just had a sale in Brazil. I went the self-publishing route because it can be done with ease. No sending manuscripts to agents or publishers who’ll put them on the slush pile. IMO it’s well worth putting a book out on Amazon.
  11. The first youth’s mother says she saw payments of £1,000 a time going into her son’s PayPal account and this naturally aroused her suspicions.
  12. You might be right re BS, but it’s national news in the UK. They’re unlikely to be making it up https://news.sky.com/story/huw-edwards-bbc-presenter-latest-police-teenager-explicit-pictures-12917955
  13. I do as a poster above does, give the delivery person a small tip. They work so hard in all weathers and provide, maintain and fuel their own bikes. Off topic: interesting that a member uses the moniker Felton Jarvis. Can’t be too many people who know who the original Felton Jarvis was.
  14. Calling the service Grap is probably the OP’s idea of wit. His ‘few other things’ are doubtless disagreeable but if he has so many beefs about Grab he should take them up with their customer services or HQ. Or he could just pack in using the product altogether.
  15. Thus thread is from 2013, almost ten years ago ????
  16. For the obvious cat haters here, or those who know next-to-nothing about cats, it’s un-neutered toms that give off a smell and only when they spray. They don’t smell or ‘stink’ otherwise. Everyday domestic cats that have been doctored are okay and don’t give off bad odours.
  17. Agree re Thailand Bound. But like most he’s a self-appointed expert. He’s money conscious and boastful of his UK property assets. He offers hourly paid online consultations regarding LoS, and people appear to fall for it. Unfortunately many followers of these vloggers are fantasists or gullible. They dream about visiting or living in Thailand but probably don’t ever do it. I don’t quite get the Bangkok Pat bashing because much of what he says and covers is, IMO, accurate and researched locally. I’ve lived and worked in Thailand for 35 years and he seems more correct than other vloggers. It’s ungracious though that he didn’t respond positively to the poster sending him photos and information. The one that narks me is the ROI ex-con who had to close down his original channel due to his past being exposed online He resurfaced after a short while and now has two YT channels which have a host of unwitting followers. On one channel he chats up and interviews pretty women in the street and they’re flattered. If they knew of his violent past and time spent incarcerated they’d be horror-struck and would back away instantly.
  18. Could the struts be available on Amazon? Either amazon.co.uk or amazon.com
  19. Good news and a welcome explanation from the man himself in your link.
  20. Good policy is to buy from sellers on Lazada who have 96% or greater ratings for seller, ship on time and chat. Not always possible and sometimes you have to take a chance. Reviews are a useful guide as well. I’ve had great success with Lazada, having made and continue to make frequent purchases for over 6 years now. Increasingly though I look for sellers on Lazada Mall. They seem to be more stable and honest.
  21. Out of interest what does your co-worker who gave you these drives say about them?
