  1. Agree re Thailand Bound. But like most he’s a self-appointed expert. He’s money conscious and boastful of his UK property assets. He offers hourly paid online consultations regarding LoS, and people appear to fall for it. Unfortunately many followers of these vloggers are fantasists or gullible. They dream about visiting or living in Thailand but probably don’t ever do it. I don’t quite get the Bangkok Pat bashing because much of what he says and covers is, IMO, accurate and researched locally. I’ve lived and worked in Thailand for 35 years and he seems more correct than other vloggers. It’s ungracious though that he didn’t respond positively to the poster sending him photos and information. The one that narks me is the ROI ex-con who had to close down his original channel due to his past being exposed online He resurfaced after a short while and now has two YT channels which have a host of unwitting followers. On one channel he chats up and interviews pretty women in the street and they’re flattered. If they knew of his violent past and time spent incarcerated they’d be horror-struck and would back away instantly.
  2. Could the struts be available on Amazon? Either amazon.co.uk or amazon.com
  3. Good news and a welcome explanation from the man himself in your link.
  4. Good policy is to buy from sellers on Lazada who have 96% or greater ratings for seller, ship on time and chat. Not always possible and sometimes you have to take a chance. Reviews are a useful guide as well. I’ve had great success with Lazada, having made and continue to make frequent purchases for over 6 years now. Increasingly though I look for sellers on Lazada Mall. They seem to be more stable and honest.
  5. Out of interest what does your co-worker who gave you these drives say about them?
  6. Turbulent winds and rain in Udon Thani yesterday evening. Trees and electrical cables down in parts outside ring road.
  7. This is what can happen when you’re old, unfortunately.
  8. Still no updates on his YouTube channel but the Bangkok 112 website appears to have updated information regarding Pattaya hotels. Whether it’s Bangkok 112 himself manning the site is open to speculation of course. https://bangkok112.com/pattaya-best-hotels-20-to-40-a-night/
  9. T Bar closed ages ago because the new owner couldn’t make a go of it, he turned it into a gym but that packed up recently. Steve and Mali have a new place on the same soi, Steve’s Bar and Restaurant .
  10. Hard to get any gf when you're over 60 ...... you should try it! 5* Unless you’ve got the moolah.
  11. The OP didn’t buy them so he will have to return them to the co-worker who ‘gave’ them to him in the first place. Increasingly, however, the drives are looking as though they’re fakes.
  12. It’s not ideal but if you’ve not searched already, there’s this kind of help online: https://www.cleverfiles.com/howto/fix-external-drive-not-mounting-on-mac.html
  13. It doesn’t give a reason, just says failed? I guess it isn’t something simple like a write on/write off switch on the drive(s). You will have looked for that already ????
  14. It’s an odd topic, perhaps the OP is connected with Gamma Gobulin.
  15. What happens when you select Erase in Disk Utility? I’m on OSX Catalina.
  16. Some posts here suggest that Udon Thani is a great place to visit and even live in. Well, I’ve lived here for a decade and have mixed feelings about the place and have to admit to being in agreement with posts that underline the negatives of Udon. Firstly, I do acknowledge that UT has positive aspects. The shopping options are quite impressive, and there are numerous indoor and outdoor eateries that offer a variety of food, some international, at very low to significantly higher prices. The presence of a couple of parks with lakes is also a nice touch for open air enthusiasts. The large Nong Prajak Park offers bicycle, tandem and triplet hire which can be great fun for going round the lake for however long you wish. The bar scene, limited and expensive as it may be, is there in the city centre for those who need it. The customers are mostly elderly Western men. Having said all this, I must admit that I find myself struggling to fully enjoy the city. In my experience, I find Udon Thani to be quite noisy and dirty, which takes away from the overall experience. Additionally, I've encountered many instances of vermin, rats in particular, on roads and broken pavements. These aren’t pleasant to see. Furthermore, as someone who values cultural exchange, I often find that interactions with certain Western visitors can, to put it politely, prove challenging. While this doesn't represent the entire visitor population, it's something I see all too frequently. I must emphasise that these are personal views and opinions. I realise that I don’t have to stay and will indeed leave when circumstances permit. I get that some people think Udon is some sort of paradise but for me it’s a dump and I’ve had enough.
  17. There’s a recent update re Key Visa on YouTube:
  18. Spot on. For anyone logging onto to their Wise account in Thailand then selecting ‘Card’ from the menu at the bottom of the screen there’s a message stating “Sorry, our cards aren’t available in Thailand yet.”
  19. The OP shouldn’t have any trouble, these are the guidelines Wise offers online: https://wise.com/us/blog/how-to-open-wise-account#:~:text=Register with Wise online%2C or,Google%2C Facebook or Apple account. These type of organisations aren’t oriented towards registering by e-mail. Downloading the Wise app and registering via that would probably be the easiest way.
  20. Hilarious, can’t stop laughing ☺️
  21. Possibly. However, with the Grab app there’s no guessing. A live map within the app shows exactly when a product leaves a supplier and the route the delivery driver takes. Users are informed moment by moment where the driver is and when a delivery will arrive. It will generally be quicker, particularly for those without personal transport, to have Grab do the waiting and collecting then navigate traffic in order to make a delivery. Whichever way, items are going to be subject to delay (and cool down in the case of cooked food) but Grab has measures in place to protect the customer regarding hygiene or if deliveries are delayed. Some may dispute the validity of using Grab and similar but we are all free to make our own choices and judgments.
