I take it you are from the US? You might want to bare in mind usually people going back to Australia to do their 2 year stretch are very penny conscious, may be on the last legs of their available funds / savings. In fact just to live in Australia for the 2 year waiting period will be a huge expense in itself compared to living in Thailand. It is very unlikely people are going to want to hang around for an indefinite period after the 2 years waiting for a judgement...let alone foot the legal costs of same. I assume most would have to take their medicine and take the judgement of powers that be. Keeping that in mind I believe the government are very averse to bad press regarding pensioners so who knows. I have followed threads about this topic for the last 5 years and guys have repeatedly said....DO NOT mention you are only staying for the 2 years and leaving...no matter how nicely they ask you. As far as you are concerned at that moment you are back for the duration and have every intention on spending your last years in Aus. they can not prove otherwise unless you have done something very obvious to openly show otherwise. The whole idea of portability and the 2 year wait is obviously so you can go and live in another country or they wouldn't have such a law. The decision to go and live in other said country has to be made after the two years....like I wouldn't have flights / transport etc prebooked showing intent. I myself wouldn't go back unless I was 200% sure the outcome was going to be portability after 2 years and from memory haven't heard anyone who said they were denied after the 2 years...only people who had been in and out of the country for a considerable amount of time during the 2 years. Only ever heard "I knew a guy / 2nd / 3rd hand stories. Anyone on here or in this thread personally been denied portabillity?

Why give advice like this if u don't know? Unless a commercial unit fridges and freezers don't have fans or "coolers" whatever you meant by that? Tge freezer itself is a cooler. The heat is with drawn from the freezer / contents via gas compressed through the pipes out to the back of the unit. We have 2 freezers and what u describe is normal

Not too sure about that old mate. I was under that assumption myself but they have two reference sections quoting 35 years....one is for eligibility to receive pension, the other is for portability and they use a reference called AWLR (Australian working life residency). I assume that means you have had to work 35 years to be eligible or maybe you are still eligible but your payments are reduced pro rata depending on the percentage of that 35 years you have been in Australia working. Happy to stand corrected if you know any different? Something I am going to have to clarify with a phone call before I return. I retired here when I was 50yo so my actual working years will be right on 35 or a few months under. (Started an apprenticeship at 15yo). Would be awful to go back for 2 years only to find out I couldn't receive my pension in Thailand ???? nce called

Your posts are always self absorbed drivel but you have really outdone yourself this time. Do us a favor and crawl back under your rock. Pompous <deleted> -
Poor bugger. I suspect many of us have experienced this sort of pain after putting our faith in some one who is no more than a wreck of a person with a 3rd grade education who had any human feelings burnt out long ago. RIP old mate ????????

Stupid me got mixed up, I was thinking of somewhere else Prachuap Khiri Khan province. Never been to Bang Saen but I do know guys who go there for a break from Pattaya and speak highly of it. Old school bar area.

Buying a bike off a guy this week. Buying it off a farang guy but his boss, a Thai guy is the actual owner. Must of had some agreement where the guy paid his boss off or something. Anyway, all above board buy the looks and my wife has discussed it with the Thai owner. I know there are two govt forms from him we need signed...transfer form and some sort of power of attorney so the owner doesn't have to come to govt office with us and we can transfer ourselves. We need the blue book of course but from memory nothing needs to be signed in there. Standard stuff. Do we need a signed copy of his Tabien baan and ID? Also going to get him to sign a receipt acknowledging transfer and bike unencumbered, although I believe if there was finance or something on the bike the finance company / bank would hold the blue book. Apart from that I guess we will get a photo of him handing us the keys and lots of finger pointing. Is there anything I have missed?

I went there a few years ago and just my personal experience. I found the place boring as bat shet. The water at the beach wasn't deep enough to swim and that was only if u could get past packs of the most savage soi dogs I ever seen. Township nothing at all. We were told there was a mine or something nearby and many people earning good money hence no interest in a tourist economy. I have seen others post here they loved the place so maybe I just had an unlucky experience

I lived here 10 years in a few villages and the stand your ground don't show fear thing doesn't always work. When they are milling around you with several in front trying to get your attention so one or 2 can get behind and have a sneak go is exactly like wild dog / wolf behavior and that's exactly what they are. Wouldn't be surprised if they were hungry enough they may see you as a meal. Mind you nothing compares to two weeks ago. We live in quite a nice estate now. Never see any soi dogs in the estate much but had a very large high pit bull and it's little French Bulldog mate hanging around our home for a few weeks. We left the gate open a week ago and came home and they were inside our place. Our dog (French Bulldog) was inside luckily. What struck me was the pit and the bulldog took no notice of me trying to direct them out of the gate. Pitbull is massive....normal pit bull features but this one very tall and ball of muscle, about Rottweiler size. Anyway, we were coming home on the motorbike other day and these things started chasing us, looked like the pit was going for our legs. Got off the bike front of our gate and my little bloke ran to the gate and barked at them. The steel gate has those fibrous cement slats. My little bloke stuck his nose through the slats....whereby the Pit latched onto his muzzle and pulled him holus bolus through the slats, and my dog is around 25 kilos. He then got hold of his ear and shook him like a rag doll. He was biting him around the side of the face, neck and head was one of the most awful, brutal things I ever seen. All the while I was beating the shet out of the Pit with a thick bamboo pole.....never flinched and wouldn't let go of my dog. Picked up some of the sharp fibrous cement and took to it with that and he finally let go and backed off and my stupid little bloke ran to him again for another go! Same again and the pit had him by the throat this time, looked like he meant to kill him. Finally he let go again and lucky Mrs grabbed our dog and took him inside. All the time the other French bulldog, cowardly little mongrel was nipping at my dogs undercarriage and balls. I would have rather fought with a bloke. Me and the missus were shook up for days. We got two small kids 7 and 8 so a real worry for us. My missus went hunting the owners and talked to others in the streets had been terrorized by these dogs. The owners were sorry etc of course (mouthful of nothing as the Thais say) and blamed their kids for letting the dogs out repeatedly! My missus told them we see the dogs loose in the street again will call the police. Guys reckons he will cage the animal when he is at work and luckily haven't seen them again but no more walking around to the corner shop or playing outside for our kids now. My dog was hurt but not nearly as badly as I thought. I can imagine what one of these Pits particularly a big one like this would do if it got hold of a person or god forbid a kid. Just no fear and no pain. You would have to gouge it's eyes out or something and not even sure that would stop it. Like a trained assassin. Really bad experience

I have imported a few guitars here and always a crap shoot. Usually 30% but they out their own estimate on and won't enter into debate. For eg you buy a Jap Fender Strat....they google it or whatever they do to get a value and all of a sudden you are paying 30% used US Fender prices. Forget about receipts or marking as a gift etc. It won't fly even if genuine. They do their own tax estimate and its "up to them". DHL I wouldn't recommend at all. I gave up. Last guitar I bought, expensive vintage Yamaha SG. Like it came from the 80s in a time machine. Arrived with a pretty severe neck crack. Was a sin

Don't know the name of the group / groups but I know my then mrs was looking through fb one day and said oh ur friend....%&$# is on this site. OMG about 15 comments, heaps of photos and profile pics...bad breath, playboy, woman basher, smells bad you name it. Just hateful lies mostly. I think we all know the way some go scorched earth after rejection. Anyway, I made the mistake of telling my friend who sadly decided to shoot the messenger. He got quite angry about it and was demading my girl tell him who what and where. My missus in hindsight obviously on or in the group checking on me. One downside of living here exes seem to be able to smear you shamelessly after a break up and very little u can do to defend urself...normally them claiming u did the very things they themsef did hence the reason u booted them.

Strongest sleeping pills available without prescription?
Kenny202 replied to BillStrangeOgre's topic in Health and Medicine
chlorpheneramine is the name of them. Any pharmacy will have them. I would start off trying half and move to one if you need it. I know a few mates who use them and don't have any side effects but me...next day running on 60% power, but I get that reaction to all antihistamine meds -
Strongest sleeping pills available without prescription?
Kenny202 replied to BillStrangeOgre's topic in Health and Medicine
I went through this a while ago and nothing strong avail over the counter. The stuff avail from the doctor is pretty nasty and some addictive. Thais take a very cheap antihistamine allergy pill, about 60 baht for 100. Your mrs probably knows them or u can explain to the pharmacist. They will knock you out but affected me sometimes the next day, like I was only half awake. If ur interested will get u the name. Chloramine or something like that from memory -
Where to find whole cooked roast/rotisserie chicken?
Kenny202 replied to TaiMaiTai's topic in Chiang Mai
I think 5 star pretty ordinary. Lotus do a nice one but depends on the shop. Best roast chicken you get here people selling on the road. Usually 150-180 baht full chook. I don't mean the little flattened out chickens either (gai yan). They are not everywhere but they are around. Chicken no matter where you get it from all depends on how longs its been cooked or sitting out. Fresh off the spit nothing better. If u find one ask him what's the best time to get fresh cooked. Probably puts them on at a certain time to be finished at say 11 or 12 -
Chinese Rolls-Royce Owner Demands Compensation from Pickup Truck Driver
Kenny202 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
People we new in the village went and bought a new Isuzu....neither of them had a license lol. Was talking to the women and I said what about insurance. No promprem! Did you know with most insurance companies they are covered for accidents even if they don't have a license. As long as someone pays the premium. The insurance system here is bizarre, particularly for vehicles. It actually seems that if one party has no insurance they have a pow wow and the insured person is deemed at fault irrespective of who's fault it is. Why premiums here with some of the well known companies here are so high. I went to have a dent in the back door of my pick up repaired and they ended up replacing 3 other panels and some plastic work all at the ok of Viryah. Said they wanted to make my car like new again. Mind you their premiums were 17000 baht per year vs 7000 with Roo Jai. I imagine with more competitive insurers entering the market the other guys will have to tighten up to compete and things wont be so free and breezy -
Chinese Rolls-Royce Owner Demands Compensation from Pickup Truck Driver
Kenny202 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
OMG lol. These people sure know how to polish a trd 5555. Turn a hit and run into where you are almost feeling sorry for the poor soul who rear ended her and did a runner lol. Probably deduced she was a foreigner, didn't know jack and he'd get away with it. . Upon hearing the news that she forgave the pickup driver and did not demand compensation, my 7yo kid tells more beievable fibs than that. Only in Lieland ???? -
Its definitely a ststem issue. Tried 3 mouse, (mice, mices 5555 don't want to start a bun fight again lol) and all ok for 1-3 months then the right click either doesn't work or the click speed munged up. Scrolling, pointer movement always ok. The fact I deleted the mouse driver (not BT) and reinstalled and it was fine surely points to the driver becoming corrupt for some reason. In fact whenever I did a system update before which I assume refreshes drivers the mouse would be fine again. It usally happens every 2-3 months so now I know the fix its no biggy at all. Be good to find the root of the problem but unlikely. Probably a clash with something else. Anyway, all good for now

Has the world and the people in it really got this bad or is it just 90% of the AN posters. If its not some drivel navel gazer starting a poll on whether people wear their shirt colllar up or down it's some wanna be super hero / psycho. Why would u go on a public forum and publicly orate what a scum bag you are as well as bragging that you are a thief? Trouble is with this guy and many others he actually seems to think he is some sort of hero. If anyone has bad karma coming it will be you old son

Well happy to report deleted driver and rebooted last night and mouse working good as new. Weird problem and been buggy since new. Work ok for a month - 3 months then either issue like explained or maybe left click button not working. At least now will know how to fix it easily. Any possible reason why the driver breaking down like that? Thanks to all for the solutions

I have had this mouse withthe computer since new, and had the problem periodically. Usually I put the bt mouse away and use my wireless mouse. Seems to be a sytem updat every week or 2 and after update maybe ok for 2-3 months. Then happens again. Definitely seems like some sort of system bug to me
-
Pointer speed isn't the problem. Right click. For eg you click once on chrome to.open it up and 2 chrome windows will come up
-
Guys, leave it there now. Just popping out will try deleting drivers tomorrow and rebooting. I found the double click speed and set it to lowest (slowest setting) and seems to be an improvement for now. No need for any more bickering. All advice has been helpful. Will report back tomorrow

Sorry again for ignorance???? What is the mouse receiver? This is a blue tooth mouse so no dongle if that's what you meant.
-
Sorry, not that computer savvy. What is the SW? and how do I delete it. I think I can delete the Huawei mouse driver. Should I delete the generic mouse driver also?
