  1. "Till death do us part". At least they entered the spirit ???? of the occasion ! ????
  2. Did the girlfriend wait for him until he came out of jail? I’m desperate for a happy ending…
  3. If you’re getting those glitches within 2 years that doesn’t bode well for say 5-7years old when the likes of Toyota etc will not have experienced similar glitches within its first decade !
  4. That’s not a chat up line that’s worked terribly well for me in the past.. ????
  5. Really they’ve not been around long enough to make proper assessments compared to say the bullet proof proven reliability of Toyota/Honda over decades. They certainly aren’t as well engineered as those brands and maybe uncertain resale values. For now I’d stick with those established Japanese brands many of which are still soldiering on over 10 years old. In U.K. my daughters 9 year old Yaris has only needed 3 wiper blades and sails through each MOT test. I reckon it’ll not be much different in another 9 years ! But here’s a survey https://www.carbuyer.co.uk/mg/zs/reliability#:~:text=MG ZS reliability, fault in the first year.
  6. Frankly it’s less hassle to keep that arrangement going (also future proofs against changes in their policy) and do all your bank business on line anyway. Even when getting new cards as long as you have the details you really don’t need the physical card. You can even load the details on the wallet in your phone for contactless payments if necessary.
  7. According to PISA educational tables so do an awful lot more !
  8. can do it with my brain. learned math the old school way. Being conversant with times tables and mental arithmetic is still a big advantage in conjunction with a calculator. It will help with spotting any keying errors as well as devising calculation short cuts. I can easily work out which is better value on different pack sizes /prices for example.
  9. Your partner knew nothing of Khmer Rouge? I suspect nor of Chianti and Cabernet Sauvignon. Wine isn’t a big thing here in Thailand…
  10. Really? I suspect you have little understanding of what these entail holistically. What did you study and what career did it lead to ? Just for clarity I studied Latin ,French and History to A level. The disciplines involved bestowed the mental capacity to grasp the economics of running a successful business of my own.
  11. Or they looked up Thailand’s ranking in the PISA EDUCATIONAL TABLES
  12. While your approach will certainly mitigate to a considerable extent your chances of an accident there still remains a considerable element of peril from the environment on the roads in Thailand . The RTA statistics don’t lie.
  13. You do understand that shareholders are primarily pension schemes, one of which is likely yours ? … of course you don’t ,you have no economic literacy at all… ????‍♂️
  14. You’d do well to check out the huge losses made by airlines /oil companies and many others during the pandemic. "They always pass on all the financial losses to the public" . Would you like to qualify that with proper examples, because that’s just ill informed economic illiteracy. Shareholders may take a hit but you’ll find most companies pricing is governed by supply and demand. Perhaps you think communism is a more successful model ..?
  15. Except it’s only vapour, unlike the acrid ,pervasive stench of sickening cigarette smoke which your nose (as a non smoker) can unpleasantly detect tens of metres away. 10 vapers produce less unpleasantness and harm than a single tobacco smoker.
  16. So you’d run a business whereby catastrophic events which caused significant losses should not be offset by charging prices that reflect the current position reflecting the economic basics of supply and demand ? Well, you’d run a business…but not for long. ????‍♂️
  17. But what you did worked out for you,so why are you not recommending it? Even if you left the aircon unit the payback on bill savings in this example is way under the 10 years (perhaps less than 2 in fact) you suggest . I’m puzzled ????
  18. Do you own the appartement? If so, maybe consider changing the aircon to a modern inverter type, we did just that in our condo and the electricity bill went down 50%. Given those bills, even if he didn’t own the apartment fitting a decent inverter unit (Mitsubishi is good)as you suggest ,the savings would soon pay for it . He could even swap back the old unit should he leave or negotiate a deal with the landlord/new tenant to leave it
  19. You are Amish and I claim my £5 ! Someone else is using their internet writing machine to post this for you too, aren’t they ….? ????
