Basically, its a complete nightmare to isolate the problem... Months ago we installed a new bathroom. Actually the builder ripped off the old tiles on walls and floor. But he didnt 'waterproof' the room. I didnt know about this. So the new RCBO device will go in the box tonight. And from tonight for 1 week I will not allow anyone to use that shower. Will wait for rain and see if it trips. If no tripping then I will allow use of the shower and see if it trips. Im a bit suspcious. Its above the electric box room to the right 1 to 2m. Wondering if water is leaking on wires there

Part 2 shows the ugly kitchen design. I would rip that out and go immediately to Index living and pay for a high spec kitchen. Why go for 1980s thai style kitchen??? -

Blackrock has power and the SEC knows this. After 10 yrs we might finally have a spot ETF for bitcoin. Its good news and about time. USD100k bitcoin price is coming folks. As for Deutsche bank all I can say is shizer. Its not financially strong and always in the press. -

Ive come back home after being away and family is asleep. We just had a power cut and I thought I would go and look in the electric box (mains area). I am shocked to see that the RCBO module component is missing to the right of the switches. I dont have electrical knowledge but its always been there before. Either my wife or staff have removed it.... A month ago the power kept tripping. I remember the electrician saying that the component might be compromised. Maybe we should replace it. If that is not inserted in there, does it mean that we dont have proper protection ie safety cut? If I want to go and buy another one can you tell me exactly want to buy? I assume I can show photo to them? After buying it can I just insert it myself or should a sparkie do it? thanks

Australian Dollar is collapsing
ubonr1971 replied to Adumbration's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
No offence but you do sound like a little Aussie battler. But thats ok. With regards to your last sentence you sound a little ignorant. The GSB bank in Thailand (pink bank) is the government bank. The mega rich families in Thailand hold huge money in this bank. More than the pissy 250,000 aud that you are worried about putting in an oz bank. Before you start bagging out thai banks you could learn from Thais who have a lot more money than you. -
Last week I had a call from Kiatakin bank saying that they wanted to me to take my passport to the local branch to allow them to scan. New rule from central bank of thailand. I had until the end of this month. If I didnt do it my account is limited to 50k transactions. Has anyone else heard of this BS? thanks

Should I have hernia done in private or public hospital
ubonr1971 replied to ubonr1971's topic in Health and Medicine
Drs and dentists are on contract after they graduate to work at the govt' hospitals for x years. Some quit and go private after the 5 yr period and some do both. Out of uni they are allocated a 'senior' dr to supervise but they basically do thousands of cases in their speciality field (dr and dentists). -
Should I have hernia done in private or public hospital
ubonr1971 replied to ubonr1971's topic in Health and Medicine
Doesn't sound as if they did a very good job if you are 'still on the mend' after 4 months. Private hospital told me within a few days to 1 week should be back to normal basically with laproscopic hernia repair with mesh which is the 'gold standard'.... In the end did you have open surgery no mesh? I think Id rather pay a higher price than have 4 months of discomfort -

Im interested in your comment. Actually Ive had the hernia for several weeks now and no issues. I wonder if I can just leave it for a while similar to the way I deal with other health issues. -
please go to Macro and buy them the 'bunny love' carrots. They deserve more than old crust bread

3 weeks ago I lifted something heavy and then later noticed a hernia on one side of my groin. I visited a private hospital who said hernia laparoscopic surgery is the gold standard. It uses the mesh. Package price advertised 200k baht. Hospital later called me to say the dr 'estimated' the price to be just shy of 300k. I am an ex govt teacher and paying the 400 thb a month giving me entitlement to the local public hospital. I havent visited there yet. Wondering if they use the mesh method or not and is it the old open surgery where I will have a big scar to look at down there for the rest of my life? I once had a colonoscopy done at a public hospital. Complete nightmare. They made me stay for 2 days. As soon as I arrived they put a drip in my arm. I was thinking what am I in for here. But it was cheap but 3rd world experience.... In private hospital is a standard day procedure. If you have ever had hernia surgery at a public hospital can you let me know your experience.
