  1. I was there again this morning and thought the same as you actually. I wonder if I should swap the positions of the proposed ensuite bathroom with the walk in wardrobe. Do you think this is a better idea. Have a door access from the room and a door in the hallway to the bathroom?
  2. My wife and I bought 2 plots of land next to each other with a small soi in the middle. Im planning to build / fund a small guest house on the smaller block and the wife will build a bigger family plot on her larger land. Im limited with options due to the small size of the land which is 60m x 18.3m Photos are attached of the proposed house I saw in a magazine. Its simple modern design. As its only a guest house Im ok with just 2 bedrooms with large living area. 4m high ceilings. Verandahs wrapped all the way around (on the sides only 1.5wide but on the ends 2m wide). Car port at one end. Pool at the other end. The walls will be constructed of lightweight conventional block and the ceiling of metal sheet PU form 3 inches Ive never done it before but theres a plan attached that’s not to scale obviously as I have no idea about all that. If you have any knowledge about this please comment and help me. The only thing I don’t know about is the laundry. The builder Im getting a quote from said he could build a small laundry room at the back of the car port area. Or should I just put a front end load washing machine in one of the bathrooms? Are the sizes of the walk in wardrobe, bedroom and bathrooms enough? The edge of the veranda to the soi road is 1.5m which I realize is not correct as theres a 2m rule. The buider said no worries as theres no passing cars because the road is a no through road. On the other side we will respect the 2m rule. What do you think about this? The neighbouring houses kind of look the same style as this house except they look 60 yrs old and run down. Any positive or negative comments are appreciated thanks

  9. Theres a house in my province with similar reputation. Its actually prime land but has an old house on it. Ages ago a village guy said he saw a ghost near a tree and someone was killed there blah blah. Probably too much grog. Now the owner cannot sell it for many years. I thought about buying it and knocking it down and building a new house but the wife would not let me...

  11. Im on an ext of stay based on marriage and I luckily remembered to put 400k in 2 months prior. I deposited it to my account on the 2nd march. So it means that I can go on Monday 1st May to apply for another yrs visa (I think) The stamp on my Work permit says 'must be extended before 8th May'. 14. Why would anyone move here with a Thai wife?? You can get stunning thai girl half your age with no 'entitled' westerner attitude.
  15. I recently drove through the countryside shown in the photos. I suspect many expats living in the LOS have not visited this particular area. Its obviously an agricultural area where crops grown include corn, raspberries, bananas etc. I will award the winner who names the area and/or closest small city. PM me your bitcoin receive address. The first photo is a giveaway. cheers
  16. Sorry but I dont understand your comment. Are you able to do a quick sketch? I dont quite get the layout that you are suggesting
  17. Im sorry but I dont quite understand. Are you able to do a quick sketch and attach. Are you saying put it on the back end which would block access to the pool / verandah. Or are you saying all rooms on that one side?
  18. Do you mind if I ask you to elaborate on this comment. What happened in your case? Any advice you can give me?
  19. Hi, In the first photo may I ask why do you seem to have the white besser block wall then a gap and then the wall of red brick wall? thanks
  20. I thought about putting a desk there at a window. Nice to look out to the rice field whilst surfing thaivisa.com
  21. Do you think if the front of the house (pool area) with the gable roofs looks exactly the same at the rear of the house (carport area) then this will look ok? Also I propose 4m high ceilings. I dont like the low ceilings in small houses. What do you think about this height?
  22. Thanks for your comments. I will 100% be putting in insulation bats and the thin silver insulation that is positioned close to the roof tiles. Would you be able to look at the new plan attached and give any suggestions. On the master bathroom I want to put a bath tub, sink and toilet. In between the other 2 rooms a shower room with sink and separate toilet Kitchen outside the rear area on the back verandah. Do you think thats a good idea Another guy on this thread discussed positions of the columns. Will my room plan work ok in this regard? thanks
