  1. Redscouse, I guess you were disappointed to see such a talentless player as Kuyt score the winning goal in amazing comebacks against Man City and Wigan (brace in that one), right? I think everyone agrees he doesn't have the most talent and yet you just say working hard doesn't get you enough. Does it get you 7 goals? That's second most this season, by the way, and most matches he has not played striker. Yes, he frustrates at times with poor touches but I think he's been fantastic this season on the right. He has more talent than you give him credit for and his goal tally this season frankly speaks for itself. I think you just have got it in your head not to like him so are finding every argument against him and ignoring any positive for him. Ah well, go ahead, you can have your opinion.

And how do you know why he left Keane on the bench? Just speculation.

You're a pessimist, clear and simple. Nostalgic, as well. Pining for the old days. Get your head around it. Top of the league at Christmas, criticize the managers selection and buys, so how has he led us to the top? Pure luck? You act like Liverpool are bottom.

a touch harsh no? I mean after 18 or 19 years, one can hardly blame the guy :o

  2. just turn the volume down and look at jamie yeo, it would take a crow bar to get me off her

i just had to google image search her and it was worth it.

though i reckon bkkjames would prefer jamie redknapp.

stevie, like my choice of football teams, the women i associate with are all class...don't mention this my wife though.

But that 200 mile drive from essex and having to leave for home before you have finished must be a drag

well, unlike certain LP fans, I have never been accused of premature withdrawl, so at times what you mentioned can be a problem.

not like your teams premature withdrawal from the FA cup a few years back then

happy xmas mate, have a good one :o

a few year's back? that was last year mate, ps I hear Torres will play this week.

possibly on the bench mate, the early withdrawal i was talking about is when you never entered and went to south america

was that the year we won the treble?

  3. Knew you would appreciate that!  :o

I have foregone breakfast and lunch and got a good workout in, so I am certainly going to enjoy the food, and then we are going to meet some friends, so that should be great as well.

just remember to be PC when you eat - you know, close your mouth when you chew and don't take more bananas than you need.

  4. The OP has left the building, I believe, people are just taking a piss, even Teacup is trying to squeeze in.

    yes ,.. and?

the nerve of some people, here we are trying to help the OP satisfy his HISO gal with invaluable recommendations, and someone on the PLUS side, obviously, not fitting the description of a hisogal, charms in with critiscscssmss. But On the Plus side, feel free to offer your suggestions to the OP - even in his abscence, as I am sure there are many many TV members who, like me, have left their hiso holiday shopping to the very last minute and could use a few pointers. :o

  5. How can I in a politically correct way say this has got to be the most boring thread on TV. Right up their with PM changed his socks this morning.

Really guys / gals, it's Christmas, go to the pub, have a beer, watch a movie, get a life. I know its pretty dead around the office these days but sitting here debating one another about the correct way to write, speak, crap etc, is without doubt, the sadest thing since the invention of green shoelaces.

If you don't agree with me, please reply in a politically correct way or not in my absence.

But at least have fun doing it.

PC or not PC that is the question. Personally I prefer Mac but hey, it's a PC world and all this intel is making my micro-soft so I guess I will just have to log-off before putting another log on the fire. :o

Well, PC or not, this thread has obviously been of interest to a number of people. Not too many threads go on for this long nor have this many posts.

So if it is boring to you, and I can certainly see how this might be the case, well, then, don't read it. But as I wait for my dinner date to get off work so we can go have a Christmas feast, I am reading a novel on Julius Caesar and seeing what other people are posting here. That is because I find both (the novel and this thread) interesting.

    Have a great Christmas evening!

haha, that didn't take long. enjoy you evening!

  6. Hi-So gal you say?

Well anything with ...the famous brandname tatooed on it, should be quite acceptable to her :D

what did your sponsor get you for xmas this year tc? perhaps that will inspire the OP?

    LoooooooVE poems :D , darling...............

ok let me count my fingers and toes here......hmm how many so far ehh

oii soooo many of them !!! :o

Oh...and he's in thailand ja :wai:

Seapock in Thailand? - all this time I thought he was at stamford bridge

oh him!....no...that 007 is still in Ireland at the moment until Monday

No not him, I got another one in thailand ka :D

well don't tell RJT, he might get jealous.

or "CERTAIN" someone else?.....tsk tsk tsk :D

TC, TV has 6 million members from what I have read, you will have to narrow it down a bit, surely not everyone on here is smitten about your kitten?

  7. Box of imported chocolates from Villa or Foodland?

I wouldn't go as far as giving her a special romantic evening, from the OP description she doesn't sound she deserves it or would even appreciate.

The real challenge is to find something that would make HER do all the cooking and massages, but you should read her very well to guess what it could be. It must be something totally unexpected, so think out of the box, out of your prescribed role of suitor.

I'd say <deleted> it and go with chocolates or a brand name purse.

speaking from personal experience, nothing impresses high-per chicks more than a big durian and a dull butter knife. if you give her these two items, you have bought yourself at least a week to come up with something real. by that point, it could be just a nice card and she will think you are wondeful.

  11. It’s a shame there’s no flowers near you. I sent my lady had a huge bunch of flowers delivered to her office today.

Comments from the other staff on how beautiful and romantic it was made her feel so special. To her those flowers came from the heart and meant more than any gift of gold or jewelry.

awwww so sweet - guess that's why you have the title 'super member' :o

usually i don't roll out the flowers until i have done something wrong.

  12. Hi So gal you say?

well, forget about clothing, perfume, jewelry and go for something that they would never get from a local - romance.

cook her dinner, serve her wine, sing her a song, massage her back and if none of this works then...

get her a gift certificate to Philip Wain (sp)

when all else fails, go for the big hair.

  13. This must be a mis-information campaign !

According to many of the anti-PAD posters, Thailand's tourism industry was "irrevocably" and "irreparably" damaged by the PAD shutdown of the airport ! :o

The numbers are still small of course, but no doubt the overall numbers would have been lower this year regardless of the protests, as people every where are finding they have less to spend, or their savings have dried up and they are more concerned if worse news (financially) is just over the horizon.

It remains to be seen if the numbers will climb back to a level that could be commensurate with what could have been, taking the global financial crisis into account. Unfortunately, it's not likely the numbers will climb fast enough and this may well be the lowest "high" season in years. That the numbers are rising is an encouraging sign though.

hey Kerry, chew on these stats awhile...

Thai airports: Not a pretty picture

    24 December 2008 14:10 Age: 22 hrs

    Category: News

Airport closure dragged high season figures into red zone.

As expected November passenger traffic through six airports managed by Airports of Thailand showed declines exceeding 27%, down by more than 1.4 million passengers.

The official air traffic report, released by Airports of Thailand for November, revealed the extent of damage caused by the closure of the two Bangkok airports over the last five days of the month.

Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports were closed from 25 November until 5 December.

Total aircraft movement at all airports in November sank 24.82% compared with the same month last year –- down 17.62% for international and 33.53% for domestic movements.

Overall, passengers fell by 27.27% from 5,069,805 to 3,687,349, compared with November 2007.

Considering the 11-month period, aircraft movements were down only 4.77% from 362,499 to 345,217 —196,864 international and 148,353 domestic. Passenger traffic fell by 1.49% to 50,892,603 compared with 52,664,502 in 2007.

November was not a pretty picture at the country’s main hub, Suvarnabhumi Airport. Closed for five days aircraft movements plunged 18.87% from 21,288 to 17,272 —international, down 18.78% , domestic down 19.29%. Passengers in November shrank 26.05% from 3,526,794 to 2,608,199 — international passengers down 28.81% while domestic fell 12.21%.

However, year-to-date, Suvarnabhumi suffered only a marginal drop in passengers compared with 2007 at 3.17% -- 37,439,936 to 36,251,953. Aircraft movement dropped 4.23% from 238,832 to 228,726.

Don Mueang, saw domestic aircraft movement nosedive 46.54% compared with November 2007 from 4,800 to 2,566, while passengers plunged 46.79% from 516,258 to 274,692. Don Mueang’s traffic declined since July after One-Two-Go was grounded and Nok Air cut flights.

Phuket Airport was the only airport to see a slight improvement. International passengers increased by 0.92% from 208,225 to 210,149, despite a 1.25% decrease of international aircraft movements.

Domestic aircrafts movement dropped 35.82% from 2,189 to 1,405, while passengers sank 24.21% from 300,759 to 227,960, caused by the shutdown of the two Bangkok airports, ending all connecting traffic.

Phuket Airport’s passenger record stands on the positive side with a 2.86% increase over 2007, but aircraft movements were down 5.11%

The northern hub Chiang Mai Airport also faced an alarming drop in the high season. Compared with the same month last year, international aircraft movements were down 34.40% from 439 to 288. The city’s links to regional hubs, other than Bangkok, declined after April as international flights were withdrawn. Meanwhile domestic aircrafts movement dropped 22.35% from 1,964 to 1,525 mainly due to the shutdown of Bangkok airports late November.

International passengers dropped 28.86%, while domestic passengers fell 25.61% from 278,997 to 207,556.

Chiang Rai Airport experienced a sharp 51.23% fall in domestic aircraft movements and 40.99% in passengers. The decline started in July when One-Two-Go suspended flights nation-wide, but the figure did not pick up even after the tourism season kicked in due to political and economic factors.

The same depressing picture emerged at Hat Yai Airport. Domestic aircraft movements down 45.40% from 923 to 504 and passengers down 31.71% from 113,426 to 77,463

  14. I was in one ot the Major International Hospitals in Bangkok yesterday, and was speaking with some of the staff from the International department. They didn't give me the exact figures, but said the amount of Medical Tourists has plummeted, and this is supposed to be the busiest time of the year, and it is now very, very quiet.

i was having lunch in the lower suk area yesterday and the "rescue" boys were out soliciting donations in lieu of the lower than anticipated amount of farangs they get to cart off to the hospital on a regular basis.

  15. Its a very good decision, it will create a lot of jobs in the building industry, also the plan for re-schooling for laid of employees is an excellent plan.

Both are already implemented with great success in the EU.

Well seeing as these new qualified new homes are only in housing estates, it appears that only one's to benefit are really the LH's, Sansiri's and others of that ilk. I don't really think anyone who is contemplating buying a 8 million baht up house will be spurred into action on it because of the minimal tax break offered by this.

Purely and simply it appears to be nothing more than a way to try and prop up lagging property stocks.

take a look at the stock prices of the leading housing players on the stock market today all up 2-4 percent - surprise surprise

  16. I have heard from the man that sorts out my taxi bookings for airport runs that the driver is this time asking for an airport fee, 50-60 Baht. Never been asked for this before, I will see if this is related later on.

with bangkok quieter than a morge, i suggest its a buyer's market and no premiums should be paid to go to the airport.

  17. I'll be very surprised, not to mention extremely disappointed, if TrueVisions doesn't broadcast all of the Playoff games. They have done so for the two NFL seasons that I've lived here.

I have the NFL Game Pass package. But that is only good for regular season games. They are offering a Playoff package for $60. However, I'm not planning to get that unless my Patriots make the Playoffs, as long as the games are all on TrueVisions. The only reason I'd want it would be for the replay on demand feature that comes with that package.

Well, when my dolphins beat the jets and the ravens win, it will be a mute point. oh, and watch out for those bills, looked very good last week in beating the broncos away. :o

  18. Easy answer call the labor department and ask for their advice... after that come on back and let us know what they said and maybe we can try and help.

Why are we mudding the water even further....We have the BiB involved, Thai immigration and now you want to get the labour dept involved in the mix as well...

If the OP is Thai, why not...just call the BiB, put in a complaint and let them deal with it....or is there more to this story than meets the eye ???

It seems to me that the OP is h*ll bent on stiching up the maid...via immigration...why would this be so ?

You see, my first post although disguised as a smart arse remark, is likely closer to the path of truth regarding the maid than is being disclosed by the OP. :o

  19. Did you have a chance to take some pictures of The Renents?
I will add some more pics both buildings now totally covered in blur tarp and construction running at full pace. all cranes and lifts working non stop but your right most work stops around 6 pm.

I have been away but I see BKK James has taken care of it. There is now another pause so I imagine theses guys were just the "fencing contractors" the front gates are nearly always shut so lets see when the next crew arrives.

here is a thought, maybe one of you 'owners' would like to ask a friendly mod to change the title of this thread to reflect that it is again proceeding?

  20. Merry Xmas everyone,have a good one !

Not having our Xmas Dinner till 6pm.......Jockstar will have been scoffing away for 6 hours already ! :D

exactly, that's why i am waiting till about 2 or 3 pm before flaming (complimenting) anyone :o , I figure JStar will be mid REM period at that point from all the tryptophan in the turkey and won't notice.

enjoy your lunch and dinner lads / ladies / and others!
