  1. I think there are definitely some so called Man U fans who write more posts only on the Liverpool FC thread? Whats with that? guess they have no idea of loyalty? I couldn't bring myself to go on their thread the thought of even associating with them is embarrassing. What a joke of a team by the way.

For someone with all of 123 posts, I find what you right above interesting, if not funny. The fact remains there Devil (good choice of name btw), that if you peruse all the threads on here you will see the usual crowd on everyone's threads. However, seeing your comments above, I guess by this we won't see you on the the Everton, United, Hammer, Chelsea and Arsenal threads. Wouldn't want you to be disloyal to your team now, would we :o

  2. And this from Colorado State University Extension Service:

"Bananas: Wash skin, peel and eat.

This confuses me: Wash the skin then peel?

If you're peeling the skin to throw it away, why wash it?

    Am I missing something?

It's a karma thing, you wouldn't want to poison the cockroaches and rats would you?

  3. Russian tourist killed after falling from 11th floor of Pattaya hotel

Pattaya, Chon Buri - A Russian tourist fell off the balcony in front of an elevator of a hotel in this seaside town late Monday night and was killed.

  4. I have this theory that westerns detach them self form nature, so when they come to Thailand they are more in tune with it. but they just don’t know how to handle it. the western world has brain washed you in to thinking living in a big modem city is normal when infact it as normal as a lady boy High on gasoline ...

Im still working on it bare with me for an update…..

RJT, you should post more often when you have come back from the bar...this post almost makes sense mate. :o

  5. The saddest part of the whole story is that the media in Pattaya tend to report only violent deaths which are a very small fraction of the total deaths. They are following a trend started in the United States and Europe whereby the vast majority of deaths due to lifestyle (over-eating, sedentary lifestyle, smoking and alcohol consumption) go unreported.

This is why there is an obituary column in in the newspapers in the west. They are not un-reported.

Or are you suggesting the the Pattaya Mail ect run headlines like.

"Khun such and such, aged 78, died from a lifetime of eating fried foods and drinking lao cow :o "

or "Lazy Man Dies on Couch - Remote and Heineken in Hand"

  6. Best 80 mins of the Season by a long way, followed by the worst 10 mins, typical West Ham.. :D

Apparently Upson's only a dead leg so should be fit for Saturday..

Why wasn't there a Center Back on the bench though on Saturday ??

Ask your vaunted manager this question.

Davenport was fit too yet he choose 2 Left Midfielders to have on the Bench instead in Etherington ( understandable ) & Kyle Reid ???

& to have Scott Parker on the pitch for 15 mins after the first of 3 occasions caught on Camera saying " I'm fcuked " when the opposition bring on fresh legs, was poor Management in my opinion & showed a bit of naivety, especially with Mullins on the bench...

Still, i thoroughly enjoyed the forst 80 mins & thought we were great, roll on Saturday & how or when we're gonna keep a clean sheet i don't know so 3-1 West Ham.. :o

  7. Roy Keane didn't suffer fools when he was a player and he's carrying on his doctrine as a manager.ESPN and Skysports treat the viewer as though they are halfwits with inane chatter and 'after timing' that leaves me speechless.I,too, turn the sound down, when the game is on because I can't take imbociles solemnly telling me what I already know.Get rid of the wide boys and get some sensible commentators in place.

I don't know who are worse, the 3 Thai stooges that do the premiership games on true sport (berbatov mai dee, Fabricas geng mak mak etc) or the 3 Farang goofs that do the Champions League half time reports.

Hate to say this, but it makes me long for that awful UBC red slide with the accompanying music they used to show when alcohol was being advertised. At least with the red slide, I am assured of the quality of the commentary.

  8. "One taxi costs the same, 3 bus tickets don't."

Yes, I know, I posted that information. Regardless, using your example, someone wouldn't consider using the 551 bus, whether it was curbside at the terminal or located at the bus terminal.

I wouldn't but then again, if you have ever taking a taxi at Heathrow to a hotel just outside the airport, you'll understand why I think our taxi fares are very very good in comparison. :o

  9. Another game and another 3 points. Starting to get used to this but what are the expectations regarding league position now that we are starting to put some points on the board? I had Spurs down for 8th before start of season and maybe that will be close but having not seen any of the last 3 games can't get an idea on just how well the side are playing.

    What do you lads reckon?

Bents on fire, will it last? will the young ruskie come good? will they buy anyone in Jan?

I think Harry and all of the Spurs fans/ players would settle for 8th right now and call it a year.

  10. Jasus, I luv football...!

That game, my friends, is the classic example of why in my mind, camera technology should NOT be used. We should have had a penalty for a blatant handball, not given cos of a blind linesman and ref. That, is THE magic of football. United lost and that is the magic, those decisions make football what it is and, today my team could have pulled of an unlikely draw ar even a win on that decision....!

I'm not happy we lost at all but...................., thats the game...............!!!!!

    redrus

Don't agree with you regarding the handball at all but will say it was a very exciting game to watch, though not happy with the result.

  11. I went by Sheraton yesterday and found their pillows to be pretty lacking. Then gave Emporium a try, but the pillows ranged from 6,000 - 20,000 baht each, and were not noticeably better than what I've found at Marriott for 1,500 baht.

Thanks for the link trajan, it looks like I'll be using it.

20,000 baht for a pillow :o was it gold?

  12. Newsweek recently asserted that this current US election was a GLOBAL election. I agree to some extent but don't really think Thai's would go so far as to feel that Obama is "our president too" which if course, he is not. The salient point that relates to this topic is the quote: To the rest of the world America's election is about change but not just at home.

Well, the change brand won. The question remains, does this really mean anything to Thailand?

    Newsweek magazine cover story abstract

COVER: The Global Election (All overseas editions). London Bureau Chief Stryker McGuire reports on why the world is fascinated by the U.S. presidential election. In country after country, polls show record-high fascination with the outcome of the U.S. elections this Tuesday. To the rest of the world America's election is about change but not just at home. Jonathan Freedland, a columnist for The Guardian in London, says the past seven years have been a long, painful public education for the world in the importance of decisions made by the United States. "Two wars and a global financial crisis-those events, at least to some extent, had their origins in decisions taken in Washington." What's more, the connection between the world and the occupant of the Oval Office has become deeply personal," says Constanze Stelzenmüller, director of the Berlin office of the German Marshall Fund. "In a globalized world," she says, "America's president can shape lives worldwide. He is our president, too."

I appreciate Obama as a fresh start and sure the people here (Thais) do as well, but as usual and its been this way since JFK, goverment's around the world are not elected, they are defeated.

  13. I invented and patented (in Belize and provisionally in Paraguay) a device called a JING which is of course a THING. It has been a complete and utter commercial failure. Who would have thought there is no market whatsoever for a pomegranate shaped vibrating marital aid?

Jing Jing la? got any extras laying around?

  14. Funny how news like this never makes it on the Liverpool thread....

Referee Martin Hansson has admitted he was wrong to award Liverpool a last-minute penalty which earned Rafael Benitez's men a draw against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday. (The Sun)

Guess no complaints about that ref hey steve and vulc? :o
