  1. Nothing. No symptoms, no C19. Just rinse and repeat until you have symptoms.
  2. I would take a deep breath and count to 10. Thailand, at present, is more trouble than it’s worth. The visa situation is problematic … or at least a pain in the backside. Do you really want to pay all your cash for a small apartment unit? As others have said, borrowing money without a PR is difficult. I could go on but Thailand is just not foreign retiree friendly. Honestly, before I would consider buying anything in Thailand I would first rent a condo unit for 12-24 months to understand if I can even abide the place.
  3. Reading this over, I realize that it may appear to have been recently. My residency was obtained in 2016.
  4. These are not proper human clinical studies. They are trying to demonstrate equivalence with short term studies. It reminds me of my working life when the Global VP of clinical research said to me “just tell me what results you want, I will get them and have them published” … he was good to his word.
  5. I got mine in 12 months but it’s likely that Covid has slowed things down. For what it’s worth, nobody asked to see my work permit once all the documents had been submitted.
  6. India has had to deal with the Delta variant longer than any other country. If you take a look at the trend line for infections and deaths there has been a massive decline. Some of this has been the number of vaccinations. Though the level of vaccinations alone does not explain the scale of the decline in infection and death. So perhaps there is a point at which immunity in the general population is attained. One supposes that Prayut is hoping for the same in Thailand https://graphics.reuters.com/world-coronavirus-tracker-and-maps/countries-and-territories/india/
  7. Two reasons they are pushing it. First, they have a lot of it and need to get rid of it. Second, they don’t have enough effective vaccine to go around so they are trying to show they are doing something … even if it’s completely useless.
  8. It’s no wonder that people are suspicious that they are not getting the real story/being sold a bill of goods. It started for me when they wanted to vaccinate pregnant women and children with experimental vaccines.
  9. I think the jury is still out on who leads the Covid incompetence race.
  10. You have better things to do with your time than wait for something that is never going to happen.
  11. Would you not think that a man of this stature (in Thailand) would have had the sense to be more circumspect about something so obviously insensitive? How oblivious can a government leader be?
  12. They are linked to two things only, power and money. They will say or do anything to protect these … everything from appeasing a foreign power to bashing in the heads of protesters. There words are completely without meaning. Following the money and the actions will tell you all you need to know.
  13. The excessive police reaction is pointless. If the Thai people are determined to change the long standing power structure in this country then nothing will stop them. That said, you can be sure the current mischief makers will go down swinging.
  14. Agree, he was running things for the good of the Thai people. OK, well maybe not. Perhaps for the good of himself and the Oligarchy he ran. His ambition, foolishly, led him to believe he was more powerful than the One.
  15. I think we all know how this works. The wealthy and powerful are allocated a specific number of vaccines based on their position within the food chain. Then these vaccines are assigned to their “followers” … those who have done them favors or those they might need favors from. Why ask for full disclosure? This is the way things have always been done in Thailand … long before the appearance of the the current mischief makers running the show. Everyone knows this. Nothing revelatory to see here. Perhaps not with vaccines but are you saying the same process does not exist in your home country? Agree, does not make it right but it’s the very nature of power. Why else would people pursue it?
  16. All you need to do is brush and floss (once a day). You don’t floss? Well how can your teeth be clean?
  17. Can you prosecute incompetence (a serious question)? Presumably it would be difficult to prove that they acted with malicious intent as that would raise uncomfortable questions about Siam Bioscience.
  18. Wonder how long it will be before getting a yearly jab will be a condition of visa/reentry renewal?
  19. My recent experience. Our23 year old daughter is staying with us. She was double vaxed with Pfizer vaccine (overseas). She was diagnosed as a breakthrough case (Covid symptoms plus positive PCR test). Her symptoms were: very sore throat, dry cough, fever, complete loss of taste and smell, weakness … says it was the worst “flu” of her life. She is young so recovered well within the 14 days. It may have gone badly for an older/frail person.
  20. They would be largely immune to the variant they were infected with (not other variants). Numbers I have seen say 80-90% for 6 months and declining there after. The PCR test does not tell you which variant you are infected with so counting in prior infection/recovery is a bit of a lotto.
