  1. There's no need to be surly The word "gits" is new to me? What does it mean ? I may start using that
  2. I have a friend from Australia arriving today with his wife at the Airport The taxi I tried to book them today doesn't reply and when they did they asked the same question how many people etc although I gave them that twice ,give them the answer how many bags etc then they reply with the same questions So I need a taxi car evening today recommended Dont give me one starting with the letter N that has lady drivers they don't turn up or don't answer
  3. Yes definitely although now I'm using a electric Zimmer frame where you kneel on the seat pad and off you go !!
  4. Perception is a remarkable thing. I didn't spend any money last night I was in bed at 8pm after watching YouTube I have no idea how bars work. How much are these bar fines nowadays?

  7. Yes thanks I watched the farang couple sitting outside the diner I was at yesterday They didn't seem to be working too hard Im sure I can do better and change it up George's 24 hours diner Do you think I should have news tv screens in there ?
  8. Yes I did encounter a short plump waitress yesterday who was a bit surly but I'm miserable too and I gave her a angry look back and suddenly she liked me . I find if waitresses etc are surly , what's another word for surly ? But if they are like that ,and please I'm not trying to be funny or weird but I put on a Russian voice immediately with a strong accent with a rude overtone ,it works
  9. Yes your right ,that's why I work a government job , I don't like to work hard ,
  10. I'm getting bored here and I have been here over a week! 1000 baht is now $50 Australian Too expensive!!!!! To leave your own country,it's a risk in life Wouldn't most of you be better just to visit Thailand 2 times a year though instead of moving here ?
  11. I was in a restaurant/ diner yesterday in Soi Bukhao I looked to see a farang couple running it I looked around and imagined I could own this and imagined the sign out the front changing to George's 24 hr Diner I often imagined when I was a kid watching that TV comedy show "Alice ' where she was the waitress in Mels Diner and I was Mel the angry owner I couldn't move here to Pattaya and do nothing ,it's morning here I think 5am now and I was in bed last night at 7pm Im looking for ideas on what makes a good diner I want to run one in Soi Bukhao and make it 24 hours with News TV screens I found the diner I went to yesterday a bit expensive but then again I heard their breakfasts are 99 baht ...how would they make a profit on that ? Can anyone tell me ? Maybe coffee is not included? .
  12. As I'm getting to the retirement age , well that's officially no retirement age in Australia I have people at my workplace who are in their 70's and they are not poor they work for social reasons or lonely old ... But anyway can we get back on topic please ! So here I am this morning sitting on my balcony in my Airbnb in Pattaya bored thinking could I contemplate retirement Leave my government job in Australia where I get copoius amounts of annual leave, long service leave etc and move here to sit here everyday And I thought and I thought what would be the reason someone would consider a retirement to Thailand but more so ....Pattaya I mean it's not that cheap for Australians with the dollar down. A beer is nearly $5 AUD My bangers n mash yesterday $15 Your not saving that much money if your Australian Most of the prices here are comparable to Australia,T shirts etc Blood tests are free in Australia, Even the ladies of the night are comparable pricing I'm hearing ladies of the night are charging with bar fines etc around 3,000 that $150 AUD How would you afford "company" every week at those prices Bar fines are how much? This condo I'm in rents for 18,000 baht a month and a little gym that's around $900 a month AUD Then there's the day to day activities,do what ? Go to A bar ? And please can we get back on topic and contemplate why , because of women to move in with People somehow are running away from life in the UK Australia etc to move in with a lady they think the grass will be greener It's not that much cheaper here Move here retire here !!! Please stop this thinking You will be bored after 6 months I have been here a week and already I'm looking at my work rosters I might even go home earlier i had a guy I met the other day in a sports bar , he was 58 yo from Australia and was in a Monday to Friday government job , he said he was alone in Australia but didn't own his own home but had retirement funds AnD AND he met a girl in a bar and wants to be with her to live I looked at him ,you stupid old fool I said Your going to lose everything for the sake of a whore ! Lose his job , lose his money and to do what everyday ,sit in a condo WTF are you going to do all day He looked at me shocked , living in a 21sqm condo with a girl he loves from the bar 6 months later he would obviously be back in Australia...without a job It's ok for a 2 week holiday but go back please !!! Now....if your over 67 I would say move here , life is short ,move here if your over 67 , But under ... Wake up !!!!
  13. I was thinking about it ..but the big farang bird looked like she could go a few rounds
  14. We don't have brain surgeons in Australia
  15. I just discovered this place in Pattaya I believe Soi Bukhao I'm trying to find the reggae bar I accidentally walk down a side street to see what looks like a house with a big front veranda It looks like the owners are a older farang man & lady???? I could be wrong I saw them sitting out the front they said how are you to me as I approached, not knowing they were the owners I said ,"mind your own business! Beautiful food delicious at great prices ,another great service . I would have to say their bangers n mash is the best I tasted My only complaint is over staffing ,I counted 6 waitresses ,you don't need that many staff .
  16. Among my complaint letters written this week, and yes I keep a list Dynamite,Agoda , Trip ,and a few companies in Australia I also have Grab on the list ! I was overcharged too and wrote to them ,at first they sent me out a generic email in reply denying my refund of 100 B It was a taxi I ordered from Grab not a normal car ,he the driver added 125 b too after I left the car I wrote to them ( Grab HQ) the second time with the office person name in Grab HQ asking them how many sick days they took this year and if they had medical certificates Lo & behold they accredited my account with 200 B with an apology Moral of the story is , DON'T order a Bolt or Grab TAXI just order a "normal " car

  23. They do say that RED Wine is good for you though I remember one late night in Sydney last year at around 2am ,I was having a bad work shift so signed off and went and sat in a very little jazz dark jazz bar in Sydney City on a rainy Tuesday night I met another old man with glasses in a suit , he was also drowning his sorrows and was fit as a fiddle for 67 because of wine but anyway the story is that he was a Court Judge and he told me he had sentenced a guy that day to 25 years jail I hugged him and he cried on my shoulder I told him to release the guy the next day when goes back to work. Oh I can't do that he said drunkenly, Please I said ,do it for me ,do it for George " He said ok I will
  24. The best red wine is the cardboard box one from Aldi ,I think $15 AUD and tastes better than the expensive ones
