I was listening to Sydney's talkback radio station 2GB to hear a heartbreaking call from a pensioner who couldn't survive on his meagre pension. True, but that's for private hospital health insurance A pensioner in Australia or UK can use the Free public hospital system

The only negative is the..... medical insurance,at average 6k a month one member pays !!! That's $300 AUD a month !

And yes there it is ,the medical Insurance! A Aussie pensioner /UK pensioner would have FREE health care in their own country Thats where that budget can be eaten in Thailand No way around it UNLESS you can make the trip back to your own country if illness happens

Very true But they may share rooms We are talking about the example of a Australian or UK pensioner on his country old age pension of around 40-45 baht a month who if he can live in that amount in Sydney or Sheffield can he live in that amount in Pattaya?

So the UK pension is basically the same? At around 40-45k a month So if old Reg from Yorkshire can live on that in Sheffield why can't old Reg live in Pattaya on that ? Oh please stop being so negative

See many of you are forgetting the "core " of the subject If an Australian old age pensioner can live in 42,000 baht in Australia Tell me why he can't in Pattaya??? And indeed the UK old age pension,how much is that currently?
