I always found the Scots placid people In the 1980's most "screws" in Australia were of Scottish origin as they were the only ones able to handle Australian prisoners and get working visas , all their first names were Jock I was a trainee prison officer at the time The job wasn't for me only lasted a few months I remember the "milk truck" came on one day...that's the truck with new prisoners in... I was assigned with an older prison officer Jock tough old scot guy I never forget his words to one prisoner in his Scottish accent "Get ya fookin knickers off Lassie ! And Bend over part ya cheeks show us ya sunshine lassie ! How times change ,these were tough Scots blokes in Australia back then .most would be dead by now I guess The prison officers from Ireland couldn't handle their tempers unlike the Scots officers who were placid I remember one senior prison officer in Sydney Patrick Armstrong retired back to Scotland after 25 years service in a Sydney jail as he was scared someone would recognise him in Australia

He was apparently 76 No idea of how or where the accident happened or what the circumstances are but we all must know the risk is higher if we are older . We all must be risk management adverse

In Australia your employer must put an extra 12% of your salary into what is known as your Superannuation fund ,your pension fund ,you don't need to do this yourself , every Australian has a Super fund You cannot access this until you permanently retire from work so it keeps accumulating Unless they started work late ,every Australian should have a decent Superfund at age 60 The negative is ...if you have too much in your Superfund you will not be eligible for a old age pension at 67 So many choose to retire at 60 and spend it before 67 so they can get the old age pension at 67
