  1. And if we don't know what/where you're talking about, the I guess we don't know! Right?
  2. Yes, virtually the same with me. Teen daughter got a cold at school. Ping ponged it to me, I then gave it back to her and then her to me again. I've had it since then. That was in early December. I've had the same symptoms as you. I don't feel 'unwell', just a stuffed-up nose, (crusty at times as well), plus a lot of phlegm early in the morning. Mum and daughter fine! I've just ordered Vicks from Lasada, includes menthol and Eucalyptus and camphor. Chest rub like when we were kids. That might do the trick. Otherwise - seasonal!
  3. "Puttikarn said she was too afraid to fight back because her boyfriend threatened to ruin her life, claiming his father was a lawyer and his family had connections with influential politicians in the central province of Prachin Buri. He also asserted that he was not afraid of the police or any legal consequences of his acts." But too chicken-shyte scared to show his face to the camera, though. Typical male bully boy - 'till he meets someone who teaches him a lesson. I hope that is soon; someone like the girl's father!
  4. So, please pray tell, which capitalist, socialist/communist scumbag Eastern country do you come from?
  5. Sorry if I'm being thick - I just don't get it. I remember the song "In the year 2525 ..." But the poster is making it sound like he talking about it being this year???? The year is 2025, 0r, in Thai years, 2568. What is he talking about. I don't understand. Is he confused? I am!
  6. In my family here wevrefer to them as 'Plastic Plods'. 'Plod' is/was a UK nickname for the police, (The Plod). Plastic Plods are the only visible sign of activity at each of the 8 or 9 checkpoints encountered during a 1,000 Km drive from CM to Surin.
  7. I too was 80 this last August. At present I am fit and healthy, but like everyone posting here, my thoughts turn to my demise. I have possibly 5 more good years. I don't smoke, don't drink too much, I eat reasonably healthily and keep fit. I was a long distance runner and recreational runner from the age of 15. I gave it up 4 years ago as my knees were bone to bone. I now walk a lot, particularly around my Mooban in CM, for about 40 minutes after my evening meal. I climb and descent 1,000 stairs a week and I don't worry a lot, just mainly day-to-day concerns. The question we all need to think about is how and when we decide enough is enough. Do they have assisted dying here in Thailand? Having read this thread through to here, I made a mental note to research alternative easy ways to end one's life. It's worth knowing about. Finally, I agree 100% regarding your last 3 statements, i.e., wife & daughter's future, Definitely no burden for her to look after me and to take each day as it comes.
  8. So, 80+ then?
  9. As long as my allotted time allows.
  10. Correction. For some it is a tool. For most people to carry a knife, the reason is for either protection, delusions of importance and masculinity or to use in any situation. either way, it becomes an easy weapon to handle and use, sometimes fatally. Knife crime in many countries is exactly like that!
  11. We? We, (most of us), got there 30+ years ago. It's just that some men like to act like bullying children and can't control their anger at minor incidents, nor control their fist either. Until one day, they meet someone who retaliates more forcefully. The Japanese man did what many foreigners do - step up to help protect a woman. Sadly, in Thailand, (and indeed elsewhere) it is a huge error in judgement.
  12. You don't know that. do you?
  13. I agree -they're all box-faced, so difficult to describe their ugliness?
  14. Now, what are the chances of 20 female prostitutes being arrested, yet not one of them is a Thai national. All of those arrested are dog ugly. Maybe the other 2,000 Thai prostitutes rounded up were released because they were beautiful? Or because they were Thai?
  15. Hi Farenheight!
  16. Is 'none of the above' any help?
  17. What is your point with these dumb posts? This is my first time of asking this question. Why bother? 'bob' style post!
  18. Under fire is near enough. A firing squad would be better!
  19. Do you lock and unlock every door, every time you go in or out? Crass response.
