  1. PM Prayut's nine years of imposing a State of Emergency in the South because of the contunuing insurrection coupled with a modicum of acceptance of associated deaths and injurings seems to be the price paid for refusal to good faith negotiations for peace with the insurrectionist.
  2. Serious injuries but no mention of any deaths. God will have to look elsewhere.
  3. My experience: Only two phone numbers to call and always connected to one with a BOI person. Received by email a needed correction to my application. Operating system for online application is Windows with Edge browser. I was using Firefox and had problems with application drop-down menus and filling in data boxes. Called BOI and advised to switched to Edge and no problem. I redacted some of the required foreign government-issued documentation that had highly confidential information (ie., foreign social security number, bank account number, personal signature) that could be used in identity theft. BOI does not allow any redactions. I resubmitted accordingly. On some documents I hand-wrote on a foreign government a clarification. BOI does not allow any extaneous markings. I resubmitted accordingly. Remember that the LTR Visa is being sponsored by BOI but the visa itself is processed by Immigration. Fortunately both are located on the same floor at the same address convenient to MRT. And a BOI employee will escort the qualified applicant through various Immigration statiobs for processing. There is also a dedicated Immigration window for LTR visa holders.
  4. Or how many applicants like myself were currently on annually extended visas (ie., non O-A, non O) and switched to the LTR that provided many extra advantages vs. newly attracted foreigners? It would seem that only the latter would result in a net economic gain for Thailand. Just to clarify, the LTR Visa has four categories for foreigners of which two are related to working in Thailand (Work-from-Thailand professionals & Highly skilled professionals). * https://tatnews.org/2202/09/thailand/introduces-new-10-year-long-term-resident-visa-for-foreigners/

  6. Maybe not going to happen based on Thailand Condominium Act of 2008 and authority of the Juristic Person in a Juristic Condominium. The JP is responsible in part for setting and collecting utility rates and payment. As such it would follow that any punitive action a condo unit owner/landlord may want to take against a specific condo unit lessee such as shutting down basic utilities for example cannot legally happen, probably not even physically happen. (assuming the condo owner cannot legally collude with the JP to contrive a utility shutdown event) There is also a February 2018 law wherein the utility fee regulation falls under the authority of the Consumer Protection Act. If tenants fall behind on their rent, landlords cannot resort to punitive action by locking the tenant out of their unit. So it would follow that a landlord could not simply shut off utilities for a leased condo unit as a punitive act to force a tenant out of a lessee unit, especially in connection with a Juristic Condominium and lessee not actually being in default of utility payments to the JP.
  7. The Youtube channel MeidasTouch calls MAGA as "Make Attorneys Get Attorneys." Usually the case with Trump attorneys who must lie and mislead the courts to push Trump's undemocratic agendas.
  8. Current law allows maximum 30-year lease for a foreigner individual right to use the land and are not renewable (requires a new lease). Lease must also be registered with the Land Department. Also there are limitations for inheritance of said property to an "unqualified" (not on an extended Thai visa) foreigner on death of the foreign lessee.
  9. Yeah, the military should instead focus on the Thai youth gangs whose aggression is more inline with Thai military doctrine.
  10. From the US West Coast: ANA SeaTac to BKK (one stop) 19h45m China Airlines Los Angeles to BKK (one stop) 20h5m China Airlines San Francisco to BKK (one stop) 18h45m A 16h flight from Vancouver (assuming correct flight time vs. 13h) is time competitive even if one had to fly from Seattle to Vancouve (1h) for a connection. But additional cost, US ground time, etc. to connect with Air Canada may be negative factors. Personally, I prefer one-stop (3h or less) for some physical freedom, some preferred/fun food, duty shopping, etc.
  11. Thailand does not recognize nor support political asylum. The UN Human Rights Commission "delisted" Thailand's Human Rights Commission following the 2014 military coup.
  12. Check to see if you qualify for the 10-year Long Term Resident visa. No minimum bank account balance required, no monthly foreign money transfers, no bank statement letter required to extend visa. https://ltr.boi.go.th
  13. The third judge was Republican William Pryor who was nominated by POTUS G.W. Bush but initially installed in 2004 as circuit Court Judge. In 2005 he was confirmed to the Eleventh Circuit.
  14. View email source message. It provides physical information regarding the email passage, ie., origin ISP, who really sent it, spoofed sender name, etc.
  15. 'Sorta like' Musk: self-taught coder, BA in Physics, BS in Economics, PhD Materials Science, technology innovator (Boring Co., SpaceX, StarLink, Tesla, Powerwall, City-sized MW Battery Storage Systems, Neuralink, Robotics), Musk $190 billion net worth vs Kanye $6.6 billion. Not smart on women, visionary & problem solver Myers-Briggs INTP (The Architect) vs Kanye ENFP. A but of stretch for overall comparison.
  16. "I like Hitler" Ignorant. If Kanye had been in Nazi Germany, he would have been considered an inferior race. Hitler considered that Blacks 'bastardized' the White race. But then Kanye likes former POTUS Trump.
  17. It's not a jihad but an insurrection. Malay Muslms (as distinguished from 'generic' Muslims that migrated to or born in Thailand Central and Northern provinces post 1700's) in the Southern Provinces have a unique language, cultural history and traditions dating back to the sovereign Kingdom of Patani. They were in effect an "indigenous people." But the Kingdom of Patani was subjugated by force by the Kingdom of Siam in the 1700's. Since that time Thailand has sought to nationalize Patani's Muslim institutions, control its economy and diminish the cohesiveness that Islam brought to the Malay Muslems.
  18. This convinction should give DOJ more mandate/spine to criminally charge Trump for seditious conspiracy. NOW.
  19. Start? I recall that in 2016 the police and military arrested and fined 30+ people for playing Bridge. Same year (aseannews.com) the military arrested 8 senior pensioners for playing dominoes. So if it's dominoes, cards, mahjong or game involving dice, play it at home with your family. Ain't freedom great?
  20. If paying a government tax for a personal stock loss - wrong. Ever hear of stock volatility? The tax is in effect double jeopardy for the investor. But might boost less volatile bond sales. If a new government tranaction tax is against the stock broker, brokers can adjust their charges to traders who place orders to buy/sell stocks, irrespective whether the trader gains or loses on subsequent trade.
  21. I agree with your conclusion theoretically. But how did you confirm this is the case? See the drawings your self or another news source? Furthermore, a road drain placed within the traffic way ( ie., road center) means the road surface must be inverted towards the center of the road. A drain is typically placed at the roadway edge by a crown in the roadway where water needs to be directed away from the road surface that otherwise may create ponding on the road.
  22. Centralization of government to the federal level is a major key to successful military coups, military political control down to village levels (see role of ISOC) and pro-military Parliament legislative control. This proposed bill "explodes" such fascist-like government control. Albeit, it provides significant power shift to the whole Thai electorate and political/budgetary grass roots accountability. Just what one might expect in a democracy. The bill will fail. It is anti-nationalism.
  23. Replace the Minister of Defense.
  24. Or in street protests, a "leg to stand on."
  25. With abortion legal in Thailand, why deliver an unwanted baby, especially with intent to abandon it to a likely death? The abandonment may be considered an attempted homicide and RTP needs to investigate.
