  1. The 2.0 raptor is almost as expensive as the 3.0 petrol raptor. What would the v6 diesel cost? It would surely be more than the 3.0 petrol everything else being equal. Would be nice to see it in a lower spec'd ranger with a lower price.
  2. No its the right red/orange colour with twin pipes. And didn't sound like a diesel (quieter actually), and no of the usual stickers. This is a family with money (they own benzes and a porsche), so no surprise really.
  3. Our neighbour just turned up with a red one this weekend. So not sure what the delay is all about.
  4. The wildtrak with the same engine was (a little) faster in a straight line as it was lighter. The new model is 2.5 tonnes and can do 0-100 in 6.5 sec. The performance is on par with the 2.3 mustang.
  5. The new ranger is limited to about 180km/h due to its tires. And it gets there very fast. Would be pretty sketchy at that speed.
  6. True. But what I stated stands. There will be no 3.0 diesel in the local market.
  7. Only the 3.0 petol is available. There will be no 3.0 diesel for Thailand.
  8. Try gettuned tuning service on facebook. They will remap. From a ranger 2.2. Gettuned Tuning Service 0898151531
  9. Join MG facebook pages you will find out. I did join at one time and there were quite a few posts there about it. If you want real user experience, you will have to wait to experience it yourself. I dont think many in TV have mg's.
  10. Be realistic....not all parts are readily available for MG's in Thailand. They need to be shipped from China. And this isn't always fast.
  11. The full moon party was roaring well into the early house (as evidenced by a local webcam there). Plently of partying still going on at 3-4am. Maybe they didnt get the memo.
  12. I think on my honda civic they just checked the brakes and vin number. Dont recally if they even looked at the headlights. But the car looked in excellent condition, so perhaps they "assume" everything is fine, and don't bother with other things. With all the smoky pickups on the road, they dont seem to test those old trucks. Plenty of new smoky ones on the road, but that's the police not doing their jobs as usual.
  13. If they wanna save lives just fine everyone without a helmet and those unlicenced. It's very simple, but apparently not!
  14. This is what can happen when a classic car uses only a lap belt. You would think abotu with 1300hp should be using a harness. The guy is lucky ony to get his teeth knocked out.
  15. Long term durability is also an unknown. Maybe not, if you want to sell after 5 years. Another unknown is also battery/module replacement cost after the warranty has expired. Even old toyota camry hybrids are very cheap now; many won't touch them. People with MG's have had issues with getting spare parts from China, with waits of 2-3 months. Unless these manufacturers can had an adequate supply of spares at hand, I wouldn't go near one at this time. There are plenty of economical hybrids assembled locally.
  16. It's about 8-9km/l at highway speeds according to www.headlightmag.com. I would expect 5-6 km/l in urban areas. So 4km/l driven hard seems reasonable. Acceleration is better (just) than the mustang ecoboost 2.3.
  17. New videos have been relesed of the v6 raptor being tested in Thailand. 0-100 in about 6.5 secs...Fuel economy is pretty bad though, but anyone buying this vehicle is not likely too car about that. It's just a bit more expensive that the 2.0 diesel,so I don't expect to see the v6 diesel here. Videos in Thai but you get the idea.
  18. It really bothers me to see students doing this. What a stupid way to potentially end your own life (same as not bothering to wear a bike hemet).
  19. My mother is the same. Knees a bit better when she does not need to use stairs so ofen. Shot knees is horrible, and can take more than a decade to get done in th public health system (Australia).
  20. In Thailand, everyone knows what a 50% (GPA 1) really means (the actual score was 0-50%). Kids try to avoid it if possible. Some schools actually tell teachers they cannot give less than a 3GPA or some score like that). Fortunately, mine isn't on of them. As you mentioned, even in the US these days, kids do not fail and asked to repeat a year. At the end of the day out students will still need to sit entrance exams, SAT, IELTS, anyway, so it's up to them to put in the hours to pass them or meet the minimum requirements for university entrance.
  21. Sales scum? It's called doing business. Astute shoppers shop around. If you get bitten its your own fault!
  22. Or for teachers without the right qualifications. This often happens in private schools (though I don't know too many in that boat). Senior civil servant teachers get quite good pay (and a decent retirement pension).
