  1. The vast majority of cars are designed and run on gasohol fuels in Thailand. Very few pumps have pure benzene (95). Our PTT has it but never use it as its much more expensive. I used gasohol for many years in a honda civic (250K kms) and never had a problem.
  2. Pfizer is similar. Stronger effects on the second shot. Astrazeneca is the opposite. I had barely anything after the second shot of az. Only a sore arm.
  3. It's a good idea when in the classroom. Mish I had done it before....caught a few nasty colds from sick students. I think widespread use of masks will be around for a couple more years.
  4. ...and just about every police chief should be very worried now when they have their assets assessed. Yes, I highly doubt he is in LoS anymore.
  5. Yes, antibodies are the short term arm of protection. They never last that long and are not supposed to.
  6. Antibodies dropping does not equation to protection dropping. Only large scale studies of those vaccinated can tell that Information. You are forgetting the activity of B and T cells. As I see it, two vaccines is enough. Then followed by natural infecton that will give a broader range of protection as only natural infection induces antibodies to attack the whole protein structure of the virus (not just the spike protein). I would only take a booster shot if it was one specific for the delta varinant (or whatever the next major variant will be).
  7. Unfrtunate. Does the paint appear thin in that area? It may not have the full coating paint applied in that area as it's hidden. You may need to check all of the seals. Can you claim it or is it out of warranty now?
  8. But you are not on overstay, right? So why would they punish you? Just do the report at the office. They won't even be aware of what that app says. Ive only reported online 2 times, and the next one is due after my next extension of stay. Let's see if there is a problem. Either way, I live 15 mins from their office so it's not a big deal. Just don't want to be there during this pandemic.
  9. Testing is around 50K day, give or take... But as thers point out, I think more are testing and staying at home. Not too worried about the number of cases... hospitalisations and deaths are the key indicator of changes in the pandemic. We may find its over quicker thn we anticipate - 2/3 of Indians now have antibodies, so the spread is obviosuly much greatere in extent than testing can show. Not just India and Thailand, but most othe countries.
  10. Sinovac was not mentioned at all, but that does not mean those missing from the data set were vaccinated with sinovac. They could also be unvaccinated, or had one dose of sinovac. We don't know that information. And the 26 with both jabs of az - those were dying less than 2 weeks afer the second dose. At lwase 2 weeks is required for full protection, and some think that more than 2 weeks is required.
  11. The data is missing for a large % of the sample (about 25%). Their vaccination status is unknown. It makes me think those people have no family (homeless?) or little contact with their family. Or the data was not recorded for some reason.
  12. Many people below 60 are also getting AZ. This study does not state the ratio. Eithwr way, we know 1 shot does not give good protection, and good protection is only after at least 2 weeks after the second shot. But it is interesting that sinovac is not mentioned at all. Probably just bad reporting, that we have all become used to.
  13. What ingredients in the vaccine concern you re: long term effects? You do realise that the body destroys all components of the vaccine within 2 weeks. Juat take your chances with natural immunity then. Indeed, natutal immunity is the way to go if you want to risk it with infection. You will get a broader level of immunity to the virus. Vaccines only attach the spike protein, while natural immunity attacks all other proteins of the virus. However, it's looking like the best approach is to get full vaccination (this reduces the chance of death / hospitalisation, and then natural infection following that (as opposed to a booster shot).
  14. So you had coronavac:) Really you should have deleted the QR code:) That is your vaccination record.
  15. The vaxxed shed for a shorter time though. Take your chances with covid. Up to you. Because you will eventually be infected. I can assure you of that.
  16. May not be a huge issue in thailand. My vaccination certificate has a qr code. Scan it and its linked to the MoPH site and shows my vaccination record - type of vaccine, lot number and date. Not sure it will ever be used here for entry to establishments, though, but who knows.
  17. ...and there are no or very few backpackers now. The OP should: 1) Find work with a language school (probably easier to get than a University). Universities usually want a Master's as a minimum, but could ge lucky), Hopefully they will give the Non-B, or 2) Scrounge up 400K for an extension based on marriage. (or 40K / month salary). , or 3) Enrol in an online course and hope they give another extension based on "progress to being qualified". Try the St Robert's course. I don't know much about course that myself.
  18. No. These kits rarely give a false negative test if used in the correct way. False positives are also rare. The problem will be non-medical personnel using them - not swabbing deeply enough in the right location. 7000 positives is a lot, If those numbers are added to the 20K today, the total number shows there is still a linear increase in cases. I expect that trend to continue for some time.
  19. I did mine Tuesday afternoon and got approval Wednesday morning. This is the second time I've reported online and had no problems. The first time I submitted the info in the morning and got approval an hour later. That's the right page. I don't use a VPN, so if you do it's best to turn it off (some here are reporting problems when using a VPN).
  20. Most medical workers were vaccinated early, so they were given to shots of sinovac. Many of them have since been given a booster (az or pfizer). More recently, they have been given sinovac that will/is being followed by az. sin+az gives similar antibody titers to az+az. This is a good thing, actually, as that will allow the doses to az to go much further. Most Thais don't travel overseas so they don't care that they are mixing vaccines.
