  1. 90 day reports are required when you are within the national borders of the country of Thailand for 90 consecutive days. If you leave prior to 90 days, no report is required. If you leave and return, the day you return is day 1 of your new 90 day cycle.
  2. If you liked Chiang Mai in 2016, you'd probably still like it. If you didn't, you won't.
  3. I think it depends upon the transaction in question. IIRC, many transactions through WISE can go through an intermediary bank before landing at Bangkok Bank. So, even though you bank at BBL, WISE may send your money to SCB first (as an example) and then it gets transferred from SCB to BBL. In that type of transaction, it would be unclear which is the "partner" bank taking longer to process. That said, if you have asked WISE to "tag" your account - as I have done - so that no Thai intermediary bank is used, then it's a direct transaction between WISE and BBL. Since "tagging" my WISE account, 100% of my WISE transfers take at least 24 hours, sometimes 48 hours.
  4. I was pretty sure it was the Bonvoy Brilliant and I'm relatively certain the Platinum status plus 25 elite nights credit that comes with it is the main benefit you value. I had considered it until they switched to the dining credit (instead of the $300 property credit) and then raised the annual fee to $650.
  5. Taken from a similar discussion on anther forum, response was 10 months ago, establishments below are in Bangkok: Fuji Japanese Restaurant - Terminal 21 + Siam Paragon Piri Piri Flaming Grill FOGO ASIA Steakhouse (This is El Toro on Sukhumvit opposite Soi 22) The Sportsman - Sukhumvit Soi 13 Burger & Lobster - Bangkok (by Chit Lom exit on Sukhumvit) Paul - (Central - Chit Lom) / Bakery in most high-end malls The Game - between Soi 9 and 11 Hemingway - Soi 11 Sushi Express - Terminal 21 Asoke Starbucks near Asoke BTS (Btw, I hate the AMEX "coupon book" approach whereby one pays a large annual fee to hold the card and receives a "monthly allowance" from AMEX to offset the fee. Insulting and far too much effort.)
  6. Tangential question - if one were using the income method (65K or more THB transferred FTT per month) into an account, is there an optimal time to switch banks so as not to run afoul of immigration? For example, would Thai immigration accept six months' of transfers on statements from one bank and six months' of transfers into another bank? Or would one want to switch right after the annual extension?
  7. Enjoy it while it lasts.
  8. This is what we got in KL. Complimentary small basket of four biscuits for the two of us when we sat down. I don't eat much bread any more but I'd probably make an exception for a couple of those biscuits.
  9. Interesting that they charged you for the cheddar cheese biscuits (which I used to enjoy). A couple of years back at Red Lobster in Kuala Lumpur the biscuits were provided free of charge to each table as a "starter" of sorts, much like chips and salsa are provided gratis at many Mexican joints.
  10. Some have two.
  11. For most of the OTPs that I require, I can receive via push notifications through the bank/retailer apps. In those instances where that isn't possible, I use another individual's Thai phone number.
  12. I use T-Mobile exclusively in Thailand. I didn't even bother with a Thai number this time.
  13. Nice. Seems most of the problems with WISE transfers are those destined for Bangkok Bank.
  14. True in that it will be rejected online. In Chiang Mai and my last 90 day report was rejected when submitted online because it was my 'first' (first on this particular visa and passport.) Instead I mailed it in and it was accepted - so I didn't need to go in person, as was alleged by the poster to whom you were responding.
  15. Whether they enforce that or not is unknown to me.....but they're quoting the Immigration Act which, if this law site is correct, reads: "Any alien, alien, who fails to comply with the provisions of Section 37(2), (3), (4) or (5) shall be punished with a fine not exceeding 5,000 Baht and with and additional fine not exceeding 200 Baht for each day which passes until the law is complied with." The real question to me is whether CM Immigration's additional fine of "2,000 baht per day" is a typo or not (meaning is it deliberate?). https://library.siam-legal.com/thai-law/thai-immigration-act-penalty-sections-61-84/
  16. All of the lowbrow humor directed at this poor woman....
  17. Politely disagree. OP also said in another post: "So you telling me that if people move around and the address of their original stay has changed they have to approach the resort and ask them to go online & fill out a bunch or <deleted>. We have taken numerous people to get a tourist visa extension and never had this problem before. " Pretty clear to me that OP doesn't know what a TM30 is or how it's submitted. We'll never know since we weren't there but, as they say, based upon a preponderance of the evidence...
  18. I also did not receive my weekly Monday BBL balance notification today.....my friend finally received one very late in the day. These are normally received early Monday mornings. Perhaps not directly linked to the WISE transfer problem but that's two separate procedural aberrations for Bangkok Bank on the same day.
  19. From what you've described, this sounds like a TM30 issue. Don't think that's anything new.
  20. So were you finished 20-30 minutes earlier than you expected? Sounds like a good news story.
  21. If you're referring to the former construction site on the corner of Huay Kaew Rd and Ratchapuek Rd, it appears to be some sort of automobile maintenance/repair and/or tire sales place.
  22. After finally catching the fugitive, it turns out that the confused foreigner in question had simply missed his 90 day report and was not, in reality, on overstay at all.
