It's not so much about high numbers of tourists but more to the point is the fact that many of the "sois" within the market are completly devoid of vendors. The central sections of the market are mostly shuttered and very little to purchase. The road around the outside has many places open though. Fair to say the market is a shadow of it's former crowded experience.

Considering how many kids this criminal slapper has popped out she's still in reasonable shape for a 43 year old. I hope she enjoyed her Thai holiday but bet she met very few Thai people other than service staff and that she has zero respect or understanding of the Thai culture. That's hardly a "tiny" red bikini as it seems to cover her silicone enhancements quite well. When is this bankrupt going to start repaying her creditors?

If there are no assets, no job reliant on good reputation and no need for future credit then no need to worry. I like to think about better times in the future so hate the idea of having later problems. Chances are the debt will be resold (happened with my Thai ex-wife) and can be settled at a much lower rate. I paid her old CC debt as by then we had aquired land and I wanted no claim on her land title. It amounted to about 25% of the original debt - she got a cash advance on a credit card to lend to a friend who never repaid (or so she said). Not sure you can renegotiate at an early stage though but worth a try. Nothing ventured...

Either do Bolt, Grab or walk out to a busier street and get a Taxi Meter <deleted> don't sweat the easy stuff. Pay what it costs and it won't likely be more than 300 Baht (about 10 USD). Get on with and enjoy life.

At least Boris did one thing. We were sold a pup as some might say. Nothing has improved. Nothing has changed except for the worst. Did Covid derail this - who knows. I think it was always going to be bad leaving Europe. Real question is would we really have been better staying IN the European Union? Will Scotland benefit from leaving the Union of the UK?

Passport numbers are not normally required (certainly not with Thai Airways) to book a ticket. They are needed for online check-in. I would say use the passport number issued by the country they are entering. We never encountered any issue with this over the years despite my wife's (now ex) Thai passport being in her maiden name and our airline tickets always in her married name that matched her British passport.

Your friend should get a Thai passport for the 7 year old. When checking in at the airline counter show both passports. At Thai immigration on exit use the Thai passport. On arrival in the USA use the American passport. Opposite on the way back. My Thai wife and son always did same with Thai/British passports when travelling. Never any questions and never any problem.

Who'd have thought it! 1) After being locked down for nearly two years many have the urge to travel and start enjoying their lives again. Also they may not have seen family or friends for those two years either. 2) "Higher average holiday budgets" is likely the result of those people with jobs or investment income having more money due to not being able to spend on travel in the last two years. The question should be; will this last into 2023 and beyond or this this just pent up demand for now? As a business owner servicing inbound tourism in London we are currently busier than ever with extreme demand. We don't see it lasting to summer 2023 but hope we are wrong. Haven't seen any Thai clients so far this year (usually got a few pre-pandemic).

US passport Stamp transfer problem
soi3eddie replied to hereforgood's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Exactly how it worked for me at CW in 2019. Got a new passport while in UK. Entered on new passport (showing current extension of stay and re-entry permit). Went to immigration at CW and they transfered the visa and extension stamp to the new passport at no charge. No letter from embassy was needed! Suspect different immigration offices use their own interpretation of the rules. -
Didn't realise it at the time but with hindsight it was pretty much within a few years. Just carried on not realising what was happening. It took about 12 years before I woke up and decided to take action. Got plans in place. Left and was persuaded to go back. Went back and things were ok for a few months. Then she started again (coersive control, irrational behaviour). Stuck around for another year and planned my exit (rented a flat, got some cash together etc.). Waited until my son was in his second year at boarding school - aged 12 - then left for good and started the divorce. This all in the UK as we never lived in Thailand.

Mine lasted 14 years before divorce ????

I've got no skin in the game and find the cycle racing fraternity quite hilarious. Most are usually doped up and think they are in the Tour de France. Looks to me like the downed biker thought he was Neymar (Brazilian footballer known for taking a dive). It did happen fast and the aggressive rider was being a tosser but then after driving in London with suicidal cyclists (MAMILS) everywhere it comes as no surprise. Get up and get over it IMO.

Hi Leonard, great 1970 sitcom! Did it cure the problem?

More U.K. rail strikes extremely likely, says union boss
soi3eddie replied to onthedarkside's topic in World News
If ever there was a case of "fire and Re-Hire" then train drivers must be prime candidates. £59,000 GBP for a 35 hour week - yes please! True that station staff and others on the railways are on much less. They likely deserve a raise. ASLEF now talking about strikes (they represent most train drivers). For most on TVF or AseanNow then it's all in the past. Many here left the UK to enjoy better lives and simpler retirements without all this BS. The Summer of discontent is here. Bills in the UK for Electric, Gas, Petrol, Diesel and food are through the roof. Some things should never have been "privatised" and at least being in Thailand with PEA/MEA there is no price gouging. £2,800 for an average household energy bill from October anyone? -
I've been setup on the immigration TM30 hotel/head of household website for a few years now. Takes about 5 minutes to file it, print a copy and keep with passport. Always do a new TM30 update at some point before having to renew extension of stay just in case they get difficult and want to impose a fine. This after always entering on a reentry permit to my same address (condo). Unless you have to have interaction with immigration to extend stay or do 90 day report or something else then I wouldn't bother with TM30.
-
Thanks. I got 2 single reentry permits on my old extension at a cost of 2,000 Baht. If I had got a multiple reentry on the old extension of stay I would have wasted 1,800 Baht (being the difference in cost) before getting the new extension. A reentry permit is only valid until the current permitted stay expiry.
-
As @DrJack54says, do it at the airport. Very easy and the last 3 times since Nov 2021 I've not waited longer than 5 minutes (didn't do multi as for me it would have wasted 1,800 due to visa renewal). Advise complete application at home with picture attached before going. Simply go to the office and handover passport, application and payment. Take a seat and the officer will bring out to you once done. Then line up to get your exit stamp as normal.

That's going to be difficult. Is there a Cambodian birth certificate? Getting a Cambodian passport whilst in Thailand will be impossible using proper channels. My GF is Cambodian and her embassy in Bangkok refused to issue a replacement for her full up passport (despite 2 visits). A few months ago she returned to Cambodia to visit family, renew her passport there and get a new Non-O visa to return to Thailand. Suspect going back to Cambodia is best option in OP's case.

Video: Pack of stray dogs chase tourists on popular southern Thai beach

Would get more attention if the dogs ate a few generals. See how quick authorities would take action then. -
Motorbike 'commute' Bangkok to Hua Hin?
soi3eddie replied to marvw's topic in Motorcycles in Thailand
In 2020/2021 I rode Victory Monument to/from Hua Hin at least 6 times. This on my ADV150 which can keep up with most but the fastest cars and pick-ups on the route. A 650 would be a lot easier. First time was quite nerve wracking (but I had only recently bought the bike). Getting out of the city not difficult but very hot when stopped at lights. Section along highway 35 (Rama 2) busy and ongoing construction. Lots of truck traffic too with all the factories. After Samut Songkhram things get easier and calmer. None of it could be described as relaxing. Would not want to have to do it as a regular commute. Heat is bearable but doing that in the rain, at night or on a schedule? No thanks!
