  1. Neither of these has any bearing on the OP's post.
  2. https://th.usembassy.gov/visas/nonimmigrant-visas/
  3. Wow, how many are you taking? Not hard at all, she is Thai after all.
  4. Strange, because the revenue office state "You need to be able to prove that you were in Thailand (continuously or not) at least 180 days in the year by showing the copy of your passport pages where there are stamps of your entries and exits.", so it would appear that they use the same figures as immigration?
  5. The under consideration period is done because the extension application has to be approved at a higher level of immigration than the office where you apply. Not by the "big boss" is in the local office.
  6. None of those relate to tourists? And the post is about tourism.
  7. What a ridiculous statement! 90 days per entry, multi entry = quite probably way over the 180 days in any fiscal year.
  8. Maybe that is exactly what they will do, as they will assume that you will be spending over 180 days in country. As for single entry, maybe they will ask for tax details when you apply for your second one in any fiscal year.
  9. How will they cancel your extension of stay without your passport?
  10. Your extension of stay becomes invalid the day you cancel your work permit. If you are flying on the 1st November and your work permit is cancelled next week, you could find yourself with a nasty overstay fine down the line. If you are flying the day after your work permit is cancelled, you should ensure that your permission to stay is cancelled also, or you may face a nasty overstay fine down the line. One days overstay at the airport, the fine will be waived, but you will still get the overstay stamp.
  11. This is from a Mod on this very site. " To relate a story about the perils of NOT canceling an extension; One person I know had a Non-B extension, quit work, left the country got a tourist visa, extended it, left the country, got another tourist visa, extended it, then went and got a new 90 day Non-B visa from a consulate. When they went to get their extension they were fined 20K baht for not canceling their earlier extension even though it was over 9 months ago and they had TWO tourist visas and two 30 day extensions in the mean time."
  12. Where has anyone said the they think a work permit and extension are the same thing? In my post they are written as an either or both. This is reinforced where I mention both immigration and the labour department. Using the correct terminology when giving advice is paramount to giving the correct advice, it is not "semantics" or pedantic, it is vital. Maybe you should reflect on your reading skills and immigration policy knowledge.
  13. The OP will not get any "visa", that is why it is called a visa EXEMPT entry
  14. You can't be sent out of a country you never entered !! Clueless
  15. The OP does NOT have a VISA, and you do not know what you are on about. The problem with an un-cancelled extension/work permit comes if the OP ever needs to visit immigration or Labour in the future.
  16. It is the non-cancellation of the extension of stay that COULD lead to overstay fines, depending on then the OP finished work and when the OP leaves the country.
  17. Maybe a little contradictory?
  18. " Posted March 24 My Thai wife and I are applying for a marriage visa for me and part of that is to have an officer from immigration visit the house, look around at the environment, and interview a neighbor..." Thought you used an agent? Also, your agent does your extension of stay based on marriage, not a Non-O based on marriage, totally different things.
  19. I think you will find that those figures are per semester, not per year.
  20. This from their website, "Many of our families make UCIS their home because there is a multitude of locations to live within close proximity to our school.", if they can't get their grammar right, would you trust them with your child's education?
  21. On what basis would the OP apply? He is neither married nor over 50.
  22. Do you have a link to this? I can not find a single ranking system that mentions it.
