  1. You appear to have totally missed the point that the passport expires before his extension of stay, and the he does not have time to get a new passport (ergo the op needs to check when his extension actually ends)
  2. You can not switch from a Non-OA visa to a Non-O visa inside Thailand
  3. very true, but an extension of stay can not be issued for longer than the validity of your current passport " 𝗠𝘆 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗼 𝗶 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗶 𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗮.. I believe you misunderstand the process. You get an extension up to a year OR for the validity of the passport (if it's less than a year) When you get a new passport they will transfer the extension stamps to it BUT they will not give you the time you lost because you're the one that applied with a passport valid less than a year You now have a new expiration date for your extension (which as you say is May) and that will be your yearly extension renewal date from now on." To quote an ASEAN Now global moderator :-)
  4. That is what he wrote in the OP I would be checking the old passport to confirm when the extension is actually valid until
  5. Terminated does not mean cancelled. Plenty of horror stories of people not cancelling Ed and B extensions and then being charged overstay when they apply for a new extension
  6. It is your air carrier that may refuse you boarding if you do not have an exit within 30 days No, Chaeng Wattana and Laksi
  7. And to further clarify, nothing, absolutely nothing needs cancelling. (before someone jumps in and gives you spurious info).
  8. As you have not yet recieved your work permit, guessing you are on a single entry Non-B, if so, just leave the country without a re-entry permit and it will be invalidated. Then enter visa exempt/waiver.
  9. True(ish), it is invalidated but not cancelled, but if you ever want another extension again, there will be major problems if you have not cancelled the previous extension
  10. What about the other million Youtube "bloggers" ?
  11. There is no requirement for it to be "about the same time", as long as a transfer of over 65k per calendar month is done, that is fine, the date of the transfer is immaterial
  12. For the benefit of people who may read this thread, the 60 day extension is to visit family, so wife/husband or children
  13. It is called a Residence Permit https://www.immigration.go.th/en/?page_id=1744
  14. You specifically said "red notice" and that is the term that refers to Interpol.
  15. Must have been a very long time ago, because the 7 day denied extension has in living memory always meant that you had to leave the country
  16. https://www.immigration.go.th/en/?page_id=1890#4a1226858b1ca2799 Seems to say that here ?
  17. Red notices go to the Interpol hq and then disseminated
  18. Nope https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interpol_notice
  19. Because that is the age that that extension becomes unavailable
  20. You have to apply for a 7 day "extension denied" extension and then you MUST leave the country, so your plan is highly flawed. I am pretty sure that now you can have more than one employer on a work permit so possibly this might work; Add new employer to work permit Get termination letter from old employer Get immigration paperwork from new employer Go to immigration and cancel old extension and immediately apply for new extension
  21. Nothing to do with immigration really, it will be the air carrier that denies boarding.
  22. a link to the legislation that states that would be handy :-) also he has "suspected leukemia", so maybe not an emergency at all
  23. You can apply for a re-entry permit during the under consideration period, but it will only be valid for that period
  24. Actually very poor advice, because there have been no reports of proof of onward travel being needed when entering on a Non-Imm visa
