divorced but staying on marriage visa
bigt3116 replied to stoicccc's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
It is at the senior IO's discretion, as are ALL extensions of stay. If the senior IO says you can stay after your wife passes, then it is valid, if however they say it is now invalid due to her passing, then it is invalid. -

divorced but staying on marriage visa
bigt3116 replied to stoicccc's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Yes it does, it is just that most immigration offices will let you have until the current extension runs out to sort out another permission to stay. -
OK, you need to get a letter from your employer stating your last day of employment, go to immigration and cancel your current extension of stay, (this can be done in advance), you should also cancel your work permit, (but you say your school will do that). Then leave the country and apply for a new Non-B based on teaching. PS Yes you need to go to the same office that issued your extension to cancel it.

Please help with overstay?
bigt3116 replied to greenapples's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
So wrong it is stupid. Going to immigration to sort out your overstay is not "asking for trouble" at all, getting arrested or stopped on the way to immigration or the border is when there is trouble. -

They will not DEFINATELY give the 7 days refused extension and the OP would return on a visa exempt entry or a visa on arrival. -
A little advise needed...
bigt3116 replied to BillStrangeOgre's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
No! You are allowed 2 visa exempt via land or sea in a calendar year, and there is no limit on the amount of air entries. OP, there is also no limit on the amount of 30 day extensions you can get. -
"early 20th century: perhaps from slang posh, denoting either a dandy or a coin of small value. There is no evidence to support the folk etymology that posh is formed from the initials of port out starboard home (referring to the more comfortable accommodation, out of the heat of the sun, on ships between England and India)."

Tracking Overstays
bigt3116 replied to Photoguy21's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
A new 90 day report is only as long your current extension is valid or 90 days, whichever is the shorter - because you needed a new extension on the same day, that is why you could not do a 90 day report.
