  1. Does this timetable include rolling stock? With or without "propulsion"? Korat is lovely. Getting to the "Gateway to Isaan" quickly? Meh. Then what. Sit around and wait.
  2. Revamp: 1.) How much can she pay for her Elephant Ticket? 10 million baht guarantees a promotion. 2.) How attractive is she/he? Winning two or more beauty pageants is the minimum. 3.) What is lineage? DYKWIA factor must be 0.95. na Ayuthaya = you're in.
  3. This ex-MPs? Current MP's? Future (first time just elected) MPs? Are Senators subject to this same "rule"?
  4. But, but masks are "medical tyranny" so I would think these "nationalists" would be against masks? But who knows with nazis, suspect they're flexible on their beliefs? And where do they get the nazi paraphernalia? Who makes these flags?
  5. Want to see his real height, without his shoe lifts, in the mug shot. And how the burnt umber make-up looks. Some of the Watergate conspirators mug shots are classics. AG John Mitchell for example.
  6. It looks like passenger arrivals will have to go down three levels (from 2, to 1, to B1 to B2) to board the APM to the main passenger terminal, then go up three levels to clear arriving immigration, claim bags and clear Customs. Is that correct? How will baggage be transported from/to Sat-1? I'm not sure the third runway will alleviate or accommodate many additional flights. I think it will only be used for landings, no takeoffs, and it's too close to 01L/19R for simultaneous Ops. And another second midfield terminal, basically a copy and paste of this new Sat-1 terminal is planned, directly south. https://en.bkk-runway3.com/
  7. "Advocating violence" is against the law. Section 114. Preparation to Overthrow Government Whoever, collecting the forces or arms, or otherwise making the preparations or conspires to commit the insurrection, or committing any offence as the part of the plot committing the insurrection, or instigating the private persons to commit the insurrection, or Knowing that there are the persons to commit the insurrection and making any act to assist in keeping such secret intention to commit such insurrection, shall be punished by imprisonment as from three to fifteen years. And making the three-finger salute is also against the law. Section 118. Use of National Symbol to Deride Nation Whoever, making any act to the flag or any other emblem to be symbolized the State with the intention to deride the Nation, shall be imprisoned not out of two years or fined not out of four thousand Baht, or both. Pretty much any activity can be portrayed as being "against the law".
  8. Interesting that these "protesters" wear masks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vg_LNrRp6Kk
  9. I found this video to be a reasonable explanation of the current situation. I am not a reddit user, nor an Apollo/iPhone user. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UsQQJkoKQE
  10. How much worse could it get? As long as the kids can count to 10 they're good to go.
  11. Republicans control the House, where they could easily bring impeachment charges. Why they haven't yet is curious. And why are they wasting time on "weaponization" investigations, when they could be pursuing Impeachment? My guess is that they have bupkis, and are "trying" the "case" against Pres. Joe in the court of public opinion. And I too am surprised that drivel from Grassley and Fox News is allowed here. Oh well, red meat for the rightwingnutjobs. They need to eat too.
  12. Maybe why Prayuth was savvy enough to NOT run as an MP candidate? TV Channels 5 and 7 are both owned and operated by the Royal Thai Army, according to Wikipedia. Hence all MPs and Senators with ANY relationship to the RTA should resign today.
  13. Cool. Let's hear the recordings. And can we also get the deets on Hunter Biden's laptop. The rightwing nut jobs have had that for ages and, somewhat mysteriously, have chosen NOT to release any details. Funny how the rightwingnut jobs love to harp on Pres. Joe's age, but 89 year old Chuck Grassley is just chipper thank you.
  14. Classic Thai Lakorn (sub) plot-line. That the formation of a new government is teetering on the question of what constitutes a media company is embarrassingly laughable. And it will get much, much worse. I'd say you couldn't make this up, but I would be wrong.
  15. 50 billion and rising each day. This has been a fugly battle. Fares are too low, without significant subsidization. The BMA wants (/hopes/prays) the government to bail them out. In other news... Bangkok's Airport Rail Link still suffering big losses from drop in passenger numbers Bangkok’s Airport Rail Link operator has been losing approximately 70 million baht per month as passenger traffic has not returned to pre-pandemic levels yet, the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) said. https://www.nationthailand.com/thailand/general/40028026
  16. FWIW, I do not think Chuwit's "exposure" referenced here, refers to Captain Cat, but rather to another woman who may be 'associated' with his arch-enemy. Captain Cat: https://aseannow.com/topic/1297414-ex-beauty-queen’s-rapid-thai-police-promotion-sparks-patronage-investigation-call/ https://www.khaosodenglish.com/news/2023/06/09/new-stars-of-captain-cat-police-scandal/?fbc
  17. Chuwit suggested that ALL graduates of this "Special" course, K.S. Or Sor, be required to serve at police stations in the restive South for one year. And that such a requirement would mean that the HiSos would no longer find this a viable career path. FWIW, the local saying is that the "third son" goes into the RTP, because it results in massive income, and they can "take care" of problems if needed. Until they have problems of course. HiSo Jimmy... https://www.khaosodenglish.com/news/crimecourtscalamity/2020/10/26/hiso-police-capt-kills-fishball-seller-in-hit-and-run/
  18. The beer brewing industry was deregulated 2 Nov 2022 by ministerial edict. https://www.thaipbsworld.com/thailands-new-liquor-regulation-small-brewers-delight-or-business-as-usual/ Since then the market has exploded, more than the cannabis market amazingly. The distilled spirits market is, like most things here in Thailand, still a bit loosey-goosey, and not as unregulated as the craft beer industry. Distilled white spirits (rice, sugar cane) are actually legal, and are MASSIVE. But they are limited to small distillers with 'traditional' history, and support of OTOP. Phrae and Chaiyaphum are the centers of this industry. Even PM Pita has been extolling the virtues of this market, perhaps as a result of his rejuvenation of the family's rice bran oil business? “At night, I love to drink local Sangvein Spirits, which are made from sugarcane from the central province of Suphan Buri,” he said. He also suggested Kilo, from the southern province of Krabi, saying we should add value to local sugarcane and his government has the intention to promote local liquors abroad. https://www.thaipbsworld.com/is-pita-a-real-influencer/ The alcohol control freaks might have to have a bone or two tossed their way, so the day sales hour thing may stay. But the midnight rule will not be granted. Online ad-hoc advertising is already off the hook. No way to reel that back in.
  19. Relevant history... 2001 January 6 - Thaksin's Thai Rak Thai (TRT) party wins in general election January 18 - Constitutional Court agrees to put Thaksin, who is set to become prime minister, on trial for allegedly concealing assets when he was in government in 1997. The move comes a month after his indictment by the National Countercorruption Commission, an independent body. Thaksin denied any wrongdoing in the case. February 9 - King Bhumibol Adulyadej appoints Thaksin prime minister. He would become the country's first prime minister to serve a full-term in office. August 3 -- In an 8-7 decision, the Constitutional Court acquits Thaksin of concealing assets, citing insufficient evidence. He avoids a ban from politics. The 8-7 vote was due, in part, to the signifanct electoral mandate Thaksin/TRT received (248 of 500 seats). Of course Thaksin was eventually "dealt with".
  20. I think that was the (2nd or 3rd?) wife of former Prime Minister Chavalit Yongchaiyudh, who was referred to as "a walking jewelry box". She used the Prawit Defense, "just borrowed that brooch from a friend". Chavalit is on his fourth wife. On Thursday, the Bangkok Post carried a front-page report that Chalerm Yubamrung, a minister in the prime minister’s office, had compared Chavalit’s wife to a ″walking jewelry case.″ It apparently was a response to charges by Chavalit of corruption within the government. While army chief, Chavalit said corrupt officials should ″have their heads chopped off.″ https://apnews.com/article/74b043a07954827aadfa58a044992405
  21. Hardly a meal-time goes by without another report of police corruption. I honestly do not remember hearing about more than one or two police corruption cases in a year. Has the RTP gotten more corrupt? Or have they always been this corrupt?
  22. It looks like a significant number (5 ~ 10) of MFP MPs-elect will get red or yellow cards, and assuming PTP have none, that would swing the majority party to PTP, who will then form a government with BJT and "the uncles parties". The violations include not having voted in local elections (one assumes Bangkok local election).
  23. CW filed 09/06/2023 05:47:39 approved 12/06/2023 07:47:33 so one calendar day was running ~ 3 calendar days for me previously.
  24. Buying a Pixel device here is "as is" with no warranty repair/service. thainexusman might replace a DOA (if stocks permit), or offer a full refund, within some prescribed period, normally seven days. Ask for confirmation on DOAs. I never, ever recommend (to others) buying a grey-market device here. In fact I strongly discourage it as the risks far outweigh the advantages.
