  1. I think that he meant more than sales hours, but I could be wrong. Production checks, licensing, age verification systems, tax. But I do not infer that cannabis will be regulated EXACTLY like alcohol, more like similarly regulated. Assuming those hours are not changed/eliminated - something mentioned as a legislative possibility - then yes, I could see cannabis shops sales hours being limited. Most don't open much before noon anyway.
  2. The "plant" is 100% legal. Flower is now a "controlled herb". I'm not sure there are any other "controlled herbs", so this is new ground? Some "controls" are defined now, more will be either with edicts or legislation or both. Extracts of the plant (flower, obviously) greater than 0.2 % THC are illegal. That includes shatter, budder, crumble, (vape) oil, hash (possibly), live resin, wax, distillate, isolate, crystalline, terp sap, RSO. Many of these variants are sold here, imported, although there are some home-made vape oil carts.
  3. I think that this remains the current "law of the land"? Edibles and extracts over 0.2% THC are illegal. Basically anything with more than 0.2% content by weight, other than FLOWER, is ILLEGAL.
  4. Like so many things here, they are "not illegal" until they are. I think shortly after 9 June 2022 date when Cannabis was "legalized", further restrictions were added to public cannabis use... (this was when they added the 20 YO/pregnant women restrictions)... The notification made clear that anyone smoking cannabis and hemp in public for recreational purposes still faces legal consequences of imprisonment of up to three months or a fine of up to 25,000 baht if they cause a public nuisance or pose health hazards to others. https://www.nationthailand.com/in-focus/40016662 So someone in the hotel could complain, resulting in a call to the police. I have not heard of such an incident, yet. Simply inquire at the hotel. Some have smoking rooms, but the majority of hotels here (~ 75%) are non-smoking.
  5. Seems reasonable, although we have to see the impacts. "Controlled Herbs" is definitely a new "category". Saw some comments on Thai social media regarding a "Cannabis Card" allowing one to purchase flower at certified outlets. That seems like it introduces too much control?
  6. I wouldn't think so. But obviously you can ask at the front desk. I think most people smoke in their homes, or outside their homes. Tourists probably just smoke outdoors? I guess you could ask them where they smoke? A leading cause of death here is gravity overdose, which usually involves a balcony. Maybe best not to smoke there, unless you're on the ground-level floor.
  7. I saw one quote attriibuted to Anutin during the presser after this meeting... "We operate a policy mainly for medicine, economics, never aiming towards recreation. Up to now, there will be some cases, some groups misuse. let the law handle it." So he appears to be staying on message, which obfuscates the recreational aspect, for now. My quick read is that the primary defense is that the Cannabis Bill will "control" cannabis, and that progress should re-commence on that activity. Input to the bill from all concerned parties will be listened to, debated, and added or rejected. Assuming the Bill passes at some point, other efforts to re-criminalize cannabis (Administrative Court) will be stopped. Cannabis usage for recreational purposes will be tolerated, much like the services sex workers provide, and controlled. Many of the controls are already in place of course (20 YO, pregnant, public nuisance, licensing, etc.). The Bill, and the resulting Cannabis Commission (24 members proposed with Anutin as the Chair), would continue to refine controls.
  8. They are "meeting to discuss". This step follows the formation of a committee in the Thai government operating flow chart. After the "discussion" the NCB may comment on their discussions. No one, other than a "Court" makes decisions, and even those are often "suggestions". Re-criminalizing Cannabis will require much more effort than allowing it to maintain its current status.
  9. Are Russians still challenged with credit card and ATM usage? Or has that issue been sorted. Is it easy to buy THB with Russian Rubbles?
  10. How long after the day you apply are the COR's delivered? If you pay for two, do they both came in the same enclosure? Or separately. And they are good for 30 days, I think. Does that start the day you apply? Or sometime between the day you apply and the day the "process" and mail it? I think EMS would only take two days max.
  11. KE 659 Great time to arrive, off-off-peak time with few/no arrivals +/- 20 minutes. Now compare that to 12:00 - 13:00 with a dozen or so international wide-body arrivals with half being A380's.
  12. Confused. Are these your plants, or your "friends" plant(s)? OK, now I'm really confused.
  13. Of course not. A bit like the claims that cannabis growers in Thailand, Laos, Cambodia actually spend money on pesticides, and then sell brickweed in bulk for 1,000 baht/kilogram. Because they have extra money, want to increase their production costs and make less money. Anti-cannabis zealots know they are fighting a losing battle so they need to construct false arguments to buttress their position. And those arguments need to big, scary and at their core, unprovable. They hope to create fear, but ultimately just end up making themselves look silly. Meanwhile the Kingdom drowns under the weight of a methampetamine crisis, with per dose prices reaching single-digits. And there are no controls on the sale of meth. I'm all for controls on the production (testing), marketing (limited, but I do see some slippage on internet marketing of Leo, Chang and Singha beer), sales outlets (locations, opening times). I'd prefer to keep online sales intact, with biometric age verification, understanding that that system could be spoofed. But the benefit to smaller Thai growers is massive with direct to consumer online sales. I'm not sure what might happen going forward. I think Anutin would like to maintain recreational, even though he is loathe to use that word - recreational got lumped into the "economic opprtunity" bucket when he spoke at length yesterday, and is willing to accept many/most reasonable controls. The other side - mostly political opponenents looking for a wedge issue, seems unwilling to accept anything short of full re-criminalization.
  14. Most of these charters operate 1X weekly. And they (Pegas/Ikar, Azur) have smaller aircraft. Aeroflot has 3X/4X weekly flights SVO-HKT/BKK. They operate B777, for which they have limited access to parts and service. Planes are packed, in one direction at least.
  15. The Administrative Court on Monday has accepted a petition by board members of the Medical Council and opposition MPs to revoke the order by the Public Health Ministry which decriminalized marjuana for medical purposes.
  16. https://aseannow.com/topic/1276182-non-paranoid-train-of-cannabis/ Never had that paranoid reaction, but it does seem like some do. Could be your brain chemistry? Could be latent pychological issues/trauma? You only feel paranoid when you smoke ganja? How often do you smoke? Which strains are you smoking? Why are you smoking if it makes you feel paranoid? I guess the obvious solution is to stop smoking?
  17. Can't see the NCC adding Cannabis back as a Category 5 "Narcotic". This is simply allowing the opposition to have their say, hear their arguments, and then fashion both replies and eventual legislation. While they could revert to medical-only, I don't see that happening. Eventually legislation will pass, and that will provide more controls - who can produce, who can sell, can anything be marketed, how can they sell, any new taxes, who can buy, who can use, where can you use it, etc. But in the end recreational cannabis use will remain as not illegal, a la sex workers.
  18. Article mentions... Googling that gives more info, includinh photos. I think another alias is Haozhe Du, and Mafia Hao. He is said to be married to a Thai policewoman in Phuket who is a niece of a former police general. Just when you think Thailand couldn't be more corrupt, they go ahead and crank it to 11. At least someone in the RTAF was smart enought the move the jet from RTAF HQ at DMK to some tiny field near Hua Hin. This one has everything, the government/ruling party taking bribes donations, the police protecting criminal interests, the Thai military supporting criminals.
  19. Yes, that was the point of my post.
  20. Yes, but the OP mentions Delta (DL) as the airline operating the last segment. ANA are Star Alliance, and Delta is Sky Team. And yes, in many cases the excess baggage fee would cover all segments. And I do not think ANA flies TYO (HND/NRT) - DFW direct, non-stop. So much is lacking in the OPs post that any recommendations will be flawed.
  21. Kevin McCarthy entered Congress in 2007. Does your opinion apply to men? Republicans?
  22. How often do you taste poison? Oh, now I see you handle. Nevermind.
  23. Who cares. It's the "leaving" part that has us all excited.
  24. Congratulations to Speaker Pelosi. She did an AMAZING job leading her caucus effectively as the first female Speaker of the House. Her steady hand guided us through a tumultous time period. Kevin McCarthy, assuming he can herd 218 cats - and many think he won't be able to muster the votes - will have big shoes to fill. Her father was a Congessional Rep., and Mayor of Baltimore. One of my favorite photos of her...
  25. It's also not the first time rupert has attempted to "ditch" trump... I give you July 2015
