In terms of CO2 generated,  maybe the same or slightly more as the ethanol provides additional oxygen to ensure more complete combustion and reduce the amount of partial combustion products in the exhaust. Ethanol in fuel is intended to reduce the amount of photochemical smog created, particularly around big cities with lots of vehicles, when the chemicals from incomplete combustion react in presence of sunlight in the atmosphere.

Neither fuel is “green” by any measure.

If the ethanol are plant based, would the co2 released be more recently 'captured' by the plants used vs petroleum's which was captured long ago

  2. I've looked into getting the smart topbox that unlocks with the bike's fob, you have to order the wiring loom as well as the box and honda's own rack, to the tune of around 20-30,000 Baht

not sure if big wing dealers for the proper big bike can order them for the ADV750 and such, but the smaller shophouse selling PCX and ADV350/Forza won't have a clue, but look around webike.com and you can find the whole kit

With the price and uncertainty whether the Thai version ECU has the necessary port to plug into or not, I can put up with the inconvenience of another key

You early adopters are in the golden age of EV charging.

It's only a matter of time until there are long queues for fast highway chargers like the UK is experiencing now (with the public charging cost higher than petrol).

few years back when all the charger were free were really great for the early adopters though

but the selection of vehicles available now is great too

Patts has train service to BKK, not sure how convenient, times & station are.  HH station (old) is very convenient and walking distance to surfside and most things city wise that interst.

Patts even has a rapid train on weekends, or use to.  Worth checking out.

I forgot about the Bangkok-Pattaya leg of the train, which is not recommendable yet, takes three hours whereas most coach and minibus can do it in under two, usually an hour and a half to the skytrains at Bangna

The weekends one are just airconditioned - similar schedule one service a day each way is also too limiting

the improved service is Bangkok-Huahin which the  new improved times is about three - three and a half hours over the almost four hours plus delays previously, will definitely beat the rush hour traffic on Rama 2 road

Being locked out of ibanking due to an expired card also sounds unusual.  Are you sure this is the reason?

He need to log in again as he's got a new phone

without debit card and PIN, or access to the bank's own ATM other methods to log in to internet / banking app is to use username and password that you have set up for online access, many never set this up as they only need the app,

The Thai wording specify that copper rod, copper clad iron/steel rod or zinc plated steel rods are acceptable,

but in the end they say they don't allow iron sheathed steel rods due to the possibility of the copper riding up against the dirt exposing the core resulting in corrosion.

What exactly is the difference between copper clad or sheathed are they talking about? most of the ground rods I see in homepros has exposed steel heads you can drive in the ground, but I have seen case when hammering the rod down and the side were against some concrete in the ground that tore the copper and bunch up the copper up the rod which is why the regulation is trying to guard against here...

I've just bought another Condo and the TT3 was supplied by my bank without issue, I seem to remember it cost 500thb - nowhere near the amounts you've been quoted. The Land Office however are "special" - because when I transferred the money from the UK, I chose to let my UK bank send in THB (not GBP), we had to pay 5000thb 'tea money' - even tho I produced the UK statements showing the GBP amounts that were sent over..............

if the money were transferred recently it is pretty routine to get one for purchase of Condos and such... no need to 'buy' the service to get one except for small bank's fee

but the original poster's situation is that he has transferred in the money long ago, and banks would not normally issue the FET

hence the higher fee to 'facilitates' issuance of such paper

I'm not aware of any EV that has visible battery packs you can take a picture of. They are encased and protected and often built into to the chassis of the car, for obvious reasons. Do you really think they are hanging off the outside of the vehicle?

Do you ask to take photos of the fuel tank when you rent a car because, you know, the previous renter might have damaged it and there could be a dangerous fuel leak? (Hint: fuel tanks are also generally not visible as they also don't hang off the sides of the car)

Protective covers or not, The EV version of Honda HR-V has badly positioned battery packs you can see

even in case of hidden packs, earlier this year Ora Good Cat here in Thailand rode a kerb, damaged the battery cover and insurance company deemed total loss as the cost to replace the whole battery was over 70% of the insured value

"when you pay someone in Thailand or withdrawing cash with the card then you are actually transfering money into Thailand".

    Thank you for clarifying that.

how would they know which purchases are from genuine tourists and which are from tax resident using foreign cards, there are around 800 million card transactions in Thailand each year,

A few weeks ago I was driving past a large private hospital in Hua Hin; on the opposite side of the road to the hospital there had been an accident between a car and a motorcycle; two injured people were on the road; a rescue foundation ambulance and the police were present; here was no ambulance from the private hospital, nor could I see any medical staff from private hospital; I guess the 30-40 metre walk from the private hospital ER to the scene of the accident was too much, even on a nice sunny day.

and cut the body snatcher out of their commission? if the rescue foundations bring the patient to the hospital, even just across the road they got paid

and how would a private hospital knows to response unless somebody called them directly, if I called 1669 and they sent a Bangkok Hospital ambulance due to them being the nearest I'd rather die than pay the resulting bill

I was told by a nurse I knew from a well known hospital in Bangkok.  She said private hospitals are required to accept serious emergency cases.  Such as the type of emergency in this story.  If the patient has insurance or not.
Near where I lived in Bangkok.  I passed by the scene of an accident.  It appeared a motorbike driver had an accident with a car.  The motorbike driver was laying on the ground injured.  An ambulance responded from the closest hospital which was a newly opened private hospital.

In case of road accidents, the hospital can claim it against the compulsory insurance, up to 30,000 baht, maybe the other party did a runner hence the uncertainty on whose insurance should pay in this case

Only if you were on a data base which shows how long you have been where ever, does the local Immigration Office linked to the one at the airport ?

all the office's system should be linked,

edge case are probably some land border that don't have linked system, and if you did a visa run using those borders and only got stamps or a service took your passport to be stamped out and in using dodgy methods, in which case the gat just won't open and you have to go see an officer in the normal queue

What happens when you put passport in if you over stayed, does machine swallow passport

Sirens sounds, red light on the gate where you are as immigration officers runs towards you shouting and escort you to the back rooms

    /joking aside

there should be a desk where you could willingly surrender to pay your overstay, or they might have a sign that those on overstay should go to the manual queue,
