  1. I just had a look at them and one word sums them up Shocking..... Thought I'd take the offered bait (just to get a view of this fantastic rate) and sigh at the first page requirements but persevere Up comes the 2nd page now they want home details names and telephone numbers Off to the bin you go.....
  2. If you're sending the equivalent of 5 Million baht with HSBC as opposed to using Wise (I think Wise limit is 2 million per individual transfer but the point is the same) than my laptop would develop a rash if I number crunched how much money you're losing on the bottom line by using HSBC Wise still the only remitter using full interbank rates Wise is regulated the same as HSBC and all the rest for that matter
  3. The trouble with half the forums readers (in fact all different forums readers for that matter) is they cant grasp that Sterling/Baht has no "direct" exchange rate but is the sum of two pairings I've given up in the main trying to politely educate Asean Now readers because there are some especially quality dim readers here lol
  4. Whats odd about it ??? It was Sterling/Dollar on one side of the currency pairings that took it down when we hit $1.03 and its now reversed back up to around $1.11 Hence Sterling/Baht rebounded nicely
  5. lol I'll give you some statistics as regards Retail traders (such as the poster you refer to) 95% of "traders" get wiped out within 4 years......4% that make profit work for Banks Trading Houses etc.....1% of retail traders make money long term Whereas 95% of "investors" (buy sit and hold) make money over the same time frames The poster you refer to quoted me on another thread over Foreign Exchange trying to impart his wisdom......the problem with people bullshighting on the forum is occasionally they come up against people who do actually know what they're talking about lol
  6. Nope I give up. I've tried to grasp what you're on about but have utterly failed... "Especially with the trolls from the days of the 1995ish"
  7. ^^ So you joined the forum to add that perhaps lol.......... Fella after nearly 40 years in Finance I know exactly how foreign Exchange is calculated No further bait will be taken....out
  8. I've explained to you already in this thread that the AUD/Baht rate is the sum of (Dollar/Baht) x (AUD/Dollar) and movement in either of those pairs affect the bottom line number crunch This is how foreign exchange is calculated (For Aussies obviously) Its not magic lol thats how it works !
  9. He's talking about Sterling/Dollar not Sterling/Baht Sterling is the weakest since 1985
  10. I've explained to you how Foreign Exchange works further up the thread
  11. Dont give up your day job Supporting the Baht ?? They're actively shorting it fella Lowest for 16 years If thats support God alone knows.......
  12. Its utterly astonishing how so many just dont grasp how foreign exchange works.....thats not aimed at the quoted poster per se The Baht takes its "fix" off the worlds "reserve" currency USD 24/7 (as does every other currency for that matter) Dollar/Baht is part of EVERY exchange rate that relates to Thailand whether your fiat currency is Sterling/Euro/AUD etc etc etc Its the strongest or weakest depending on your point of view its been since 2006 (Dollar/Baht) x (Sterling/Dollar) (Dollar/Baht) x (AUD/Dollar) (Dollar/Baht) x (Euro/Dollar) And so on..... What is WEAK is all our fiat currencies value against the USD No matter where you come from only 2 ratio's are of importance Dollar/Baht and your OWN currencies value against the USD Anything else is just "noise"
  13. What are you talking about lol ?? Support to the Baht ?? From who ??
  14. The Baht is at its weakest level for 16 years not its strongest lol at over 37.30 at time of post Last time we saw Dollar/Baht at this level was September 2006......every single currency exchange no matter what base currency we bring to Thailand involves the Dollar/Baht ratio The sum of (Dollar/Baht) x (Sterling/Dollar) equates to Sterling/Baht Movement in either pairing affects the bottom line. Forget all the "noise" you'll hear on the thread its those two pairings that solely matter
  15. Highest rate (or lowest depending on your point of view) since September 2006 Good news for absolutely everyone no matter what your base currency is bar those remitting back home
  16. I had similar with Halifax around a decade ago albeit I had good reason to know why in hindsight It was released 4 days later
  17. You've been red flagged hence the "pause" External agency for some reason has requested Wise clearly hold the money for now pending an investigation. Assuming you're clean I'd imagine it will get released fairly quickly
  18. Somewhat comedy gold that some are only "suggesting" that yes it might be a good time to transfer USD At close to 37 you have to go back a long way to get to the same level
  19. Passed that on to someone yesterday in Pattaya and can confirm its works as per your post Excellent work thats how to post accurate information without any waffle
  20. Very good recommendations. Thats what the forum is all about sharing real information
  21. Meanwhile on the opposite of the pairings and the sole reason for Sterling/Bahts current decline we sit at just $1.145 the lowest level since the Thatcher years when we edged closer to parity Thank our lucky stars that the Dollar/Baht is actually at 37 !
  22. Brits holding Sterling will be extremely grateful of the Bahts current demise Baht currently at multi years weakness......close to breaking 37
