  1. Based on my experience if I was you I would pay a bit extra and go thai smile to swampy mate I have done Don muang twice and twice from both pattaya and the return to Pattaya was a bloody nightmare plus on both occasions there was a good 45min delay from DM. Thai smile straight to swampy for me from now on used this route 10 times now never delayed more than 5 mins. Plus so much easier on arrival at swampy to get to Pattaya

  2. Hi went today needed some other paperwork sorted for yellow book so thought I would do 90 day report (due 4th Nov) arrived at 1300 the actual process took 5 mins that was with the additional paperwork for yellow book however the wait was 2.30 hrs staff were friendly indeed happy would be a better word. Given the quick story I am about to convey 4 desks working all four for the full time minus the 5 mins it took for my bits were occupied with (not having a pop here) Americans four getting extensions based on marriage now wether they had decided to go together or just coincidence I have no idea but it was very entertaining and quite a bit embarrassing I have to say. Non had correct paperwork all refused to accept it was there fault arguments in every corner in fact at one stage all 4 immigration officers were I belive talking to each other on there mobiles. Pictures and bank statements were the two main ones one chap didn't have his passport but could not see a problem with that as he had photocopies? ??? Anyway it passed the afternoon as for mine nothing needed just passport and a smile. Job done new date stapled to passport and additional paperwork stamped and signed with a smile. So from me well done immigration officers at KK no raised voices from them very professional.

  3. I think it would do you good to spend sometime in detention and mix it up with fellow law breakers. And it's true people like you make it difficult for law abiding people. Master the art of not dropping the soap in the shower before u turn yourself in. Hopefully you'll learn your lesson.

What a really really helpful compassionate post I bet the OP is gushing with the love you give to him. Or what a plonker you are learn your lesson indeed hope no sorry I hope it happens to you someday and then please come back on here so we can share the love to you.

    OP good luck mate

  4. Well sorry but it hasn't and from what I read and for what I do online won't affect little old me on any way so no big deal as far as I'm concerned and most Thais I speak to don't really care either way and before you come back with "most Thais in village don't understand" yes they do they have a great understanding as most now use Internet for there small businesses. Let them do what they want to do call it what you will single gateway whatever it will not impact 99.9% of Farangs here as we don't work or have a business here. Unless of course you use certain websites for your gratification of course.

This kind of "I'm ok...so any assault on personal freedoms is ok, because it won't effect me" attitude is particularly pathetic when it comes from farangs who do come from countries where there is some understanding of the concept of choice and the rights of the individual. Your "let them do what they want to" implies that the majority had a choice in the matter, which they did not. Your knowledge of what will and won't affect "most Thais" and "99.9% of farangs" is amazing. Pray tell how you are such an expert? All in all, apologists for the state have always been a particularly spineless & an ingratiating breed...don't you think?

It's called talking to real people on the streets not reading millions of posts on here and other forums spineless I won't comment except to say you don't know me and may add you never will

  5. Oh shock horror what if tactics start. It hasn't happened why try to scare munger before anything has happened. If the sun blows up we will all die but is that likely !!!!!

It's not scare tactics. It is raw fact. Today, it can NOT happen because of normal government or military action. It would take extraordinary steps and planning, and would have to overcome very heavy pushback, for even a chance of the government shutting down the internet.

If ... sorry, when the single-gateway is done with full government (or perhaps not; perhaps military) control, it can immediately happen.

It is not scare-mongering to point out the factual, real differences between now and then, which are actually planned. In fact, the entire point of the single gateway through CAT is full, total control of the internet, and, when the internet is running, its traffic.

In short, it is the whole POINT of the military policy for "blowing up the sun", and soon they will have the untrammeled, unopposable means to do it. Unless people like you stop enabling them.

Have you heard of Pastor Martin Niemoller? Interesting fellow.

Do you live here as a guest or citizen???

I am not enabling anyone to do anything as I am a guest on a country that enables me to live the life I want. I care not about a single/double/1000 lane highway. I came here to enjoy the country and it's people not to jump on any bandwagon or to try and have some sort of deluded influence over the countries own people. The simple truth is Thailand is an independent country ruled by the army for now not Farangs who belive they are somehow better placed to say what this country should or should not do. If you are set against this so strongly the solution us easy GO. Let's not forget here if this so called single gateway stops even one paedophile then to me and to a certain child it is well worth the hassle. So please don't try to spout I'm holier than thow retoric, live with what you have in a country which after all YOU DECIDED to live in

Wow, another "if you don't like it go home" post. You must be really, really smart!

Yes I belive I am as I have a few letters after my name yet another type before you think poster but I won't resort to your level have a good day

  7. Does anyone on here have the technical knowledge to explain what this really means in practical terms??

The whole online world is a series of cat an mouse games... someone encrypts something, someone else cracks the encryption... they block access to something, we load a vpn and access it anyway...

What is the realistic impact of this, assuming it ever actually gets implemented. (which is seriously doubt...)

Imagine a busy 7 lane motorway going to one lane and a police checkpoint stopping every vehicle and you will have a resonable picture

Very simplistic and not a really good explanation of a single Internet highway but it helps spread the scare mongering thanks

if the internet stops working because the government decides it needs stopping, it will affect you and everyone else in the village

  10. I would love to see the recipe for the result being called wine or whatever. then inform everyone concered tthe procedure and items used to demonstrate to the wee ones the action ??? of yeast.. Unless she had seen wine making in progress from start to finish, i doubt she made nor did the kids drink wine. i would put money on bad viniger. this wild guess is if she used fruit or juice of, sugar, another odd and end and rigged up or attempted to, a working system isolated from thr atmosphere (airtight)

she needs to be working at a much higher level in the so called Thai education system., sex education, comes to mind

Sad man we are not all at gutter level thank goodness

  11. Lighten up here perspective is called for its not the end of the world it's a drop of wine and didn't a so called son of God turn water into wine and up until the early part of the century beer was drunk instead of water as the water quality was so poor!!. Do you not have alcoholic drinks in your place ever!! The law as it stands in UK 14 years old in a restaurant with adults can consume wine and cider he can not purchase it nor can he have more than one glass but the adult he or she is with may buy the minor alcohol. Wine in small amounts isn't going to hurt anyone in fact if we teach our kids one glass of wine or cider or beer is enough from an early age they are less likely to binge drink when older IMHO of course

Found this which I think covers the school as I understand you it is a private school

The Alcoholic Beverage Control Act of 2008 increased the drinking age in Thailand from 18 to 20, private drinking is not regulated in private locations.

  12. Certainly additional routes would be very welcome but I'm afraid it is a supply and demand issue. Of course if there's no supply...

I am very pleased with the improved quality of the buses. Not that many years ago the head room was much, much less. And the various "grips" on the back make boarding much easier and safer. All in all, I think the Bath Buses add hugely to the positive side of Pattaya.

There hasn't been a fare increase in over ten years. Maybe it's time for one. I think 20 baht for non-Thai at least. Yes, I know that causes problems. There was certainly an uncomfortable period of adjustment when the fare went from 5 to 10 baht. Dual pricing was attempted and failed in short order, to my chagrin.

Why should non Thais pay extra???? So are you saying there should be dual pricing for all services and goods for non Thais!!! OK let's pay 130 bht for a bottle of Leo and your girlfriend/wife gets it for 65 bht. Get a life for goodness sake tourists pump millions into Thailand sure way to lose tourist is introduce dual pricing as the floating market does. Been there twice payed Thai price entry and you don't see a lot if tourists there

  13. I think, and quite rightly, every member of TV supports the pregnant woman. The wife of the naval man showed what a stupid nasty bitch she is.

Further to this I belive hitting or abusing any woman is wrong and any person man or woman doing either of the above are in my opinion trash

Immmm, sounds good until you have a crazy women with a knife trying to stab you, sometimes turning the other cheek does not work.

I have a friend here on TV who often has to lock himself in his bedroom to prevent his drunken abusive wife stabbing or attacking him with a bamboo stick.

He was brought up to never hit a woman, but in those circumstances i don't think i would be so tolerant.

Easy leave her walk away there is never ever justification for a male to hit a female. Walk away if she is assaulting you restrain her without hitting her then walk away simple and yes I've been in that situation more times than I ever wished to be and I can say with complete truth I never hit any of the women (or there kids which usually was involved as well).
