What I don’t understand is how Thais can enter and do as they like ? The last cluster of 31 ( ?) religious travelers coming back from Dubai ? Why did they go there in the first place ? I thought religious gatherings were a no go. Also there is Th e Expo on in Dubai at the moment, so was it religious or a shopping spree for wealthy Thais. Anyhow, Omicron is well on its way to being number one , so there’s no stopping it in Thailand now. Two options, live with it, vaccin everyone, boosters, or close down and bankrupt the country. Closing down will not get rid of Omicron.

There are already travel restrictions all over the place. If France goes into confinement, then you can’t go on holidays. Please correct me if I’m wrong, I’d love to be. Mentioned in such a case * only necessary ( imperious) travel allowed.

Yes, same here. I’m in France. Im ok to do a Phuket sandbox as I’m flying there direct on the 15 th. The worry then is rebooking my hotel for 7 days sandbox, and not being to fly cause France goes into lockdown and holidays banned.

That all may change very soon if the Anutin announcement yesterday is accepted . Then I suppose I will have to change my Test and Go bookings ( hotel/PCR/ taxi) to a maybe Sandbox style program. I assume they will then have to change the Thai Pass ?? How will this work for people who are fully booked and have Thai pass for the coming weeks ? Others have onward flight and hotel bookings for after one day Test and Go which they will not be able to use, due to a possible 7 day Sandbox .

There will be no more tourists if it’s a lockdown quarantine. The high season will be over before it starts. Maybe a Sandbox program would save some .

You can get a private taxi from Koh Chang people.Book at Colin’s agency CocoDeeBoKohChang, or iamkohchang, Ian.Both great guys. Ian has a good website and advice on travel. I always do that as I don’t have a car, and no way I’d go in a mini van again anywhere ! Door to door pick up,and drop,off.

You can hardly expect an airline to fly with half empty seats can you . The airlines have lost billions over the past 2 years, I’m quite sure they haven’t got the money to carry on flying non profit routes. Of course I feel for people concerned, best thing get on all companies and see what they can do.

Fujitsu, you say “ buy a return Ticket”. You don’t need a return ticket, just any ticket that takes you out of Thailand, for example, Bangkok Phnom Penh has lots of flights. You don’t have to use it, but handy for checking in when you leave your home country for Thailand.

Hi, I’m going to Thailand middle January 2022. Visa exempt with one 30 day extension. I have friends in Cambodia that I’d like to visit for around 8/10 days. I know it’s a bit early to ask, but what are the odds of me flying in, visa on arrival, ( or what else?) then applying for Thai Pass early to make sure I get it and don’t get stuck in Cambodia.?? Has anyone done this, or applied for Thai Pass from Cambodia ? Could an agency secure it easier than myself ? i will have Covid insurance and a condo rental in Thailand to go back to. Thanks for any info.

Well no one knows that yet. The EU is waiting to see what happens in UK , which will give a good idea on how dangerous this new variant is and how best to react. It’s only been a few weeks, let’s give them time. The UK is a good example having a large population of double/ triple vaxed and a similar population to other larger EU countries. Just heard this now from French immunologists and re animation doctors that are obviously very impatient of knowing more., Most important , everyone agrees , is getting the most people vaxed and triple vaxed quickly.

I always fly Emirates long haul as they fly from Nice( France) which is 20 mins drive from my home. It’s a very good airline, no complaints . I prefer Singapore airways but I’d have to go to Paris to board . If flying to Bali , Australia, Auckland, I would book them. If flying to Myanmar ( not any more) Phuket, Cambodia,Vietnam, Malaysia etc would take Air Asia or Bangkok airlines. No problems either. South America, British airways or KLM.

Do you think it will be possible to fly to Phnom Penh or Malaysia, stay 10 days, re do THai Pass and fly back to Thailand and receive 30 days on arrival ( uk pass) and then extension 30 ? I see plenty flights to Phnom Penh. I have friends there.

Sheryl please, I’m still a bit confused over PCR timings. If I’m leaving at 14 hrs Saturday , I thought to do my test the Friday morning, as in France we get the result the same evening. Am I right ? I’ll arrive midday (12h) Sunday.

Not much, but if you have a good education you are more likely to learn these things, and also advice from parents is important. Parents should teach their children from young , savings accounts , weekend jobs, etc . Of course I doubt very much that the majority of Thai parents have these abilities. From a kid I had Saturday jobs, summer jobs, a savings account, my father made us kids have a little notebook, money earned, money spent. I never regretted that as it has helped me all through my life and now I’m a pensioner I’m really happy I can do and go whatever and wherever I like. My brother and sister the same. I have two friends who have been very fashion conscious all their lives. ( in the business). Dior bags and Chanel trainers, expensive cars etc etc. They don’t have half what I have, and now have to downgrade on rentals etc. This is a big problem in Thailand, money goes out faster than it comes in.

I’ve looked into going to Bali, and it’s practically impossible unless you have a special kitas visa, if you are living there or working there. If you go as tourist , you must enter through full quarantine, not sure but think it’s 10:days, and only in certain areas of Bali. At the moment it’s heavy monsoon season until April/May, so no pleasure, almost everything closed and strict rules.Have a look at the entry requirements and Bali forums for advice.

spidermike007, you have to do PCR before leaving home within 72 hrs, then, with the Test and Go, 1 night hotel, transport, and PCR again., There are packages , just look’Test and go. Agoda have the SHA PLUS + listed too. If you arrive on Test and Go in Phuket, the PCR test is done at the airport., Lots of people are having problems with the THAI PASS application, it’s easy, but can take up to 14 days + to get accepted. So apply early. I doubt things will change, especially with New variants lurking, making people panic.
