  1. Twisting word as always :

The competition require that no one have their flag or country symbol on their board or equipment

    Israel athletes refuse

    =

Israeli athletes not go to Malaysia.

I believe it was a restriction placed only on the Israeli athletes, not a general one.

There are certain models which do not normally carry prominent flags, but definitely not all.

Flags are usually in evidence on athletes sportswear, TV coverage and when presenting medals etc.

If this was only for Israeli then I feel sorry for the Israeli athletes, but in this case the article is poorly written.

If presented as a general rule, then it is their choice to not go...but it seems to target Israeli only, and they even refused to have their national anthem played in case of gold medal...

  2. Just the same as Israel blocks Palestinian Athletes to perform abroad....Som Nam Na !!!

It's not as simple as that, and I'm sure you know that.

In any case, what international competitions has Israel been rewarded lately?

I doubt they would get any because of the racist BDS propaganda movement.

It's even more simple as that,.....A bit more than a month ago Israel blocked at there airport the Palestinian football team just before they were boarding on a international flight, on invitation to play a important international competition. Not that I give a toss about football or any other sports ???? but my dear Mother raised me with the wise words, "don't do to others what you don't want to be done to you".....

Now, ... they should not be surprised that there athletes don't get visas...And more country's should do the same.

Just like they did with that other Apartheid regime South Africa.

    Regards,

    Off Road Pat

Not familiar with the case. Why didn't they go to Jordan to fly out?

As another said, suggesting an equivalence between Israel and apartheid South Africa doesn't make sense. Israeli includes about 20 percent Arab citizens. No separation of water fountains, etc.

Now the stated goals of a future Palestinian state are pretty clear about rules banning Jews from owning land and usually explicitly state NO JEWS at all will be allowed as citizens.

Also keep in mind, nobody is saying that Malaysia or any country can't disagree with policies of other countries, BUT if they are going to reap the benefits of hosting international athletic events, they need to leave the politics out of it and treat all competing teams exactly the same.

Israel of course is being singled out for totally unfair scapegoating. Not surprising as surveys have repeatedly shown that the levels of JEW HATRED are very high in Malaysia. Not only anti-Israel. Anti-Jew. They are usually but not always closely connected. Almost no Jews living there but they hate them so much. For Malaysians and other similar Jew hating nations, if Jews didn't exist, they'd have to INVENT them. Scapegoats serve a political purpose.

But separation of buses, separation of grocery stores, separation of streets like in Hebron...revise your classics.

Israel athletes refused to agree on the conditions which was, for each competitor : no flag or other country representation. They chose to not go.

And which Country in the world would permit the denial of its own existence?

  3. Many shudder. Especially the ones that will loose their foreign aid and others that will have import duty raised on their products.

With the Asean and TTIP this is not coming, in fact quite the opposite...

Your signature is quite funny as it apply perfectly to the Trump mentality : Not serve people

  5. Excellent news.

There will still be shops all along those pavements where tourists can buy things, leaving the pavement for what is supposed to be for, walking.

Those vendors have been taking the piss for years, not much sympathy from me.

They were here long before you arrived. It was an institution and part of the Bangkok way of life.

If you need a very clean street with no motosoi, no vendors, no beggars you should go live in Singapor it will suit your needs

Or maybe you should go and live somewhere like Mumbai.

Thai people are the ones instigating the current crackdown on vendors encroaching on pavements and from my experience most

Thais want the pavements to be cleared.

What I or any other Farang wants means nothing, it is the Thais who want to improve the situation and to be able to walk on the pavements.

I bet the thai people who want these removed are the one you see at emporium, not the mass

  7. Nothing wrong with a children owning a gun, as long as they learn to shoot their wads responsibly. You don't want a bunch of adult first-time gun owners any more than you want adults who can't read.

However, IMHO - and I might be in the minority here - a school cafeteria is not an appropriate place for gunplay. Luckily, in this incident, no one got hurt except for a few students... but what will happen next time?

Yeah it is well known you have all the maturity needed to have a weapon at 14.

Pushing kids and teenagers into this habit is just plain stupid

  8. "It is better to live one day as a lion than 100 years as a sheep." - nothing can be said better and to the point. This was and is a motto of every freedom fighter in the world. Bravo Trump! Cowards, politicians and money cheaters are in the latter category and they hate lions.

Let wait his tax return before assuming he is neither a cheater, a coward and a freedom fighter.

By the way calling Trump a freedom fighter is quite amusing

  9. I don't really care who the quote can be attributed to, it is the quote in itself that matters. And I see nothing wrong with the quote.

    Have to agree..

Even Hitler had some quotes no one would have thought might be attributed to him...

But that doesn't mean the quote itself should not be a followed..

For example, how about this Hitler quote:

"No matter what happens in life, be good to people. Being good to people is a wonderful legacy to leave behind"

    http://quoteshunger.com/hitler-quotes/

Does that mean because it was said by Hitler we should not agree with it..

    Or how about this one...

"To conquer a Nation, first disarm its citizens"

So since it was Hitler that said the above, does that mean that if those on the left hate all things Hitler, there should be no gun control ?

His life could be resumed by his quote then?

"No matter what happens in life, be good to people. Being good to people is a wonderful legacy to leave behind"

I am quite sure a lot of people who witnessed his goodwill would disagree

  10. I don't really care who the quote can be attributed to, it is the quote in itself that matters. And I see nothing wrong with the quote.

Yeah of course, why not going to the top then :

Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Fuhrer...it is not important who the quote is attributed, right?

And I am quite sure Trump would not deny this quote neither

Hitler, Goebbels, Mussolini, Stalin, Mao, Ho Chi Minh, Lincoln, Attila the Hun, Genghiz Khan, JFK, Marquis De Sade, Cardinal Richlieu, Napoleon Bonaparte, Duke of Wellington, Rommel, Charlie Chaplin, Muhammad Ali, Croucho Marx - to name but a few who made quotes.

Learn from others rather than closing your mind.

Learning from the other and especially dictators is not a good teaching method. I am more inclined to quote Grouch Marx than Goebbels, but maybe I should open my mind to the Aryan theory

  11. I think the point of the rally was to be provocative in the first place. Their aim was to suggest that Whites are a target of violence moreso than other races...They succeeded...it is an absolute truth that Whites are the most frequent target of hate crimes, as defined by the DOJ in the USA....it's amazing that all the people who disavow White nationalists and claim to support free speech feel absolutely justified to use violence and censorship to attain their goals...the cost of free speech is that you occasionally hear something you do not like...and if you are truly open-minded, objective, and liberal in thought, that offers a starting point for critical evaluation...in the case of the KKK, much of their rhetoric draws upon misplaced frustration, irrational conspiracy, and overly simplified conclusions...they should have claimed more accurately that ALL Lives Matter...the police in the USA will kill anyone at the slightest provocation...it's not a race issue particularly, except for the undeniable fact that Blacks and Hispanics are most overt in committing street level crime, and thus come into contact with police more frequently...

For the KKK everything is a race issue. It is even their motto.

.in the case of the KKK, much of their rhetoric draws upon misplaced frustration, irrational conspiracy, and overly simplified conclusions

Wrong : it comes from plain dumb racism, anyone saying it is not should go on their websites and have a look, especially their forums...a wonderful reunion of unicorns and fluffy bears

  13. This is just another example of how well the gun laws work. They don't. Criminals pay no attention.

They don't mostly because of the availability of the guns, the lack of regulation about second hand market, the promotion of gun industry...

In USA a semi auto cost 2000 doll on black market, in Australia since they enforced gun regulation it is around 15,000doll...guess you don t need to be a criminal when you have 15,000doll on your account

  14. Israel has de facto annexed the West Bank and holds the Palestinian people under a brutal occupation and apartheid conditions.
My gut feeling is: well you Israelis claim the West Bank as part of Israel, then you look after security and your duty of care towards the residents under the Geneva Convention. Why should the Palestinians do your dirty work for you? It would certainly cost Israel more money, manpower and hassles. That's the price you pay when you invade another's land. Som nam na.
Maybe the gloves would be off then, and we would see more clearly on the social and international media what thugs the IDF terrorists are, and could hasten the end of this monstrous injustice.
But I also feel that would cost more Palestinian lives, if the PA police weren't protecting some of their own as best they can against IDF atrocities. I would not want to see that.

Maybe you should brush up on your general knowledge of Israel and the so called "Palestinians". A race who has never existed ever in Caanan (now Israel. )They are ARABS descendants from various invaders. Maybe read the following ( written by an Arab from Jerusalem by the way !!) go and google

imninalu.net/myths-pals.htm. Maybe ALL commenting here on Israel should read this.

You mean by opposition of people like russian jewish, Usa, French, etc... they are not more on their land than the Palestinians then, right? i thought middle east could also be called "arabic land" but maybe they are all lying their, another conspiracy theory maybe?

  15. I DO know history. If the Arabs had not started murdering Jews in the first place and lived in peace, there would have been no need for separate countries. They made their own bed.

you probably wanted to write : and LEAved in peace,

There would need separate countries : israel doesn't want a single country which will have more arabs than jewsish...when the english gave them the land I am quite sure some people were already living there, right?

and i am not sure anybody asked them if they were ok to leave their land, would you?

  16. In 1947 the UN has divided the land of Israel in a way that would have accommodated both Jews and Arabs in 2 separate states. The Jews accepted, the Arabs did not. A war erupted by the Arab countries in order to end the Jewish state before it even started. The Arabs lost.

That is EXACTLY what happened. The Arabs started the violence in the first place, they have repeatedly been beaten in wars that they started and they have been losing ever since. They are to blame for what they have done to THEMSELVES.

Yeah we all know it is so easy to come and just tell the people to leave their house as it is now yours... please at least know History
