Could be very important to send email as proposed.
"
To gain clear feedback directly from other long-stay tourists wanting to stay in Thailand, the officer at the PDMU invited such tourists to email a clear description of their situation. By arrangement, such tourists can send their emails to [email protected]. The Phuket News will forward all relevant emails directly to the PDMU. Emails must include contact details and the Subject line must say, “Please let me stay”.
People were urged to send their emails as soon as practically possible.
“We have no deadline for receiving these emails, but the PDMU will report its findings directly to the Prime Minister, and this will need to be done soon,” the officer said."

Again Thailand would look very bad if there is a panic exit on 26 sept.
It already look like bad business, scare people to go the agent way...
Again Farangs here are covid free ; they spend money ; no outside tourist anytime soon... What's the problem to allow everybody already here to stay without hassle until at least end of year ???
It looks like bad business already. They could just annonce long amnesty, pay money direct to immigration (2000 per month would be a good deal for both part), period.
My guess though is they will not want to abandon the agent / money under table way, so they will make it complicated, last minute and immigration too (as since a few years). Not great business.
But if they apply the 26 exit, wow, image will be seriously damaged. Not human, only country to do that, and stupid business... no, Thailand does not do that... I mean old Thailand ????
Just do good business : 2000 bahts per month, pay direct x months, max 6 months or 1 year. Everybody win. Thailand looks great.

I am French.
Are those letters not automated via internet for those who can have them ?
If so France is very stupid not to provide this. Ok first Thailand has ZERO reason to ask Farangs to leave...
Tired of this world non sense.

Again : could be related to the way Thailand handle so poorly tourism and expats since the Covid thing.
No realistic plan to bring tourists (but our quarantines are soo nice, come on guys ????)
Immigration still say farangs "why don't you go back to your country ?" ????
Guess the guy is smart, and has seen how probably this situation will last maybe years !
Unless gouvernement start to re-consider farangs as "clean" ???? Put some order in Immigration
ransomrandomness first. Avoid to make expats go away maybe hm ? Reconsider all this shut-down country plan better than "lock-down on an amazing island..."... Not easy for the later i admit, without an accurate immediate test. But things like insurance 100K$ is not good thinking for example too. Etc.It's like Thailand does not know anymore how to do business since the last gouvernement. After 40-50 years being a model !
No wonder the guy does not want to stay... If draconian and non-sense rules are maintened : business is in bad shape for long.

And in the same time they insist Farangs must go away on 26th september... Or try to find a often lottery way with immigration / pay a agent for bad reason...
Thailand was, once upon a time (and for so many years), like N°1 for business. They are just killing it since the last coup.

As i said, Thai Immigration HOTLINE told me today there was NO extension without letter (witch i can not have from French Embassy).
Has someone else called this number ?
For Ubon Ratcha, interesting to see if you actually will have it.........
Typically at the same office you get opposite answers from different officers......
I miss the old Thailand.
And with all this mess, once i will be able to leave, i doubt i will come back with this gouvernement.

Immigration was very nice before.
But since the last coup, it has totally changed.
And getting worse and worse.

You don't forget to eat when high on ganja, on the contrary ????
It's used in medecine for that too, people sick with no appetite, regain appetite.
Problem with pharma ganja is it will be extract of CDB only i think.
And like with illegal weed, nobody will know the chemicals added to grow it. And if the plant has ever been rinced (water only the last 2-3 weeks to get rid of most chemical). Nor the process used to grow it (natural light or not, quality of water, soil or the wrong "hydro", etc.)
Nor actually if it will be Sativa (as Thailand seeds are originally), or Indica, or a GMO.
Duration of grow matters too. Drying technique too. Etc.
So if people (including farangs) can grow it themself, it would be really great !

Obviously but they still don't do it for "some" reason ????
At least we now are clean farangs. Can Anutin confirm ? ????

About the normal extension 30 days from TV or exemption on arrival :
Has someone ask the immigration hotline ? They are supposed to know ? I've never called that's why i ask.
Good idea Sam ????
I had immigration hotline finally, and THEY CONFIRM THERE IS NO MORE "NORMAL EXTENSION".
Only the "special" with embassy letter.

Thanks for the report!
Although it is bad news, it is good to know that regular 30-day extensions for those on a Visa Exempt or Tourist Visa entry are now not accepted anymore at MTT (even for first-time applications),
I am really surprised by this, because there is NOTHING different than before 31 July (when this was still possible and done successfully). The Cabinet simply extended the Amnesty till 26 September but it seems that some Immigration offices are interpreting the last extension of the Amnesty as 'overruling' the regular IO practices.
>> As you reported, MTT IO told that you could apply for an Embassy letter supported 30-day special extension. However, it is not clear whether such an extension would allow you to use it as a spring-board to apply for the 90-day Non Imm O Visa and subsequent 1-year extension, because that special extension is only meant to provide you with a legit temporary permission to stay when not able to return to your home-country yet.

Tricky now.
I think there will be another short amnesty last minute.
Unless borders open.
It's just business as usual, you pay agent who pay immigration who pay up gouvernement.
They can not say it officially but Thailand work like that, everybody knows, and it's fine, and their country.
What is not cool at all is to take advantage of this virus crisis in a stresfull way, last minute to make a max of agent fee.
Immigration attitude is all about that since a few years, not as friendly business like before, just to make you go the agent route. Main reason i think.
Otherwise it would be a total non-sense, looking for tourists but almost impossible because of fear of virus, and still making farangs virus-free go away ??? Not good business obviously it would be, that's why i think last minute 1 month amnesty.
For me i do not want to stress every month or so. I'll just pay for peace of mind. It's fine.

I am not qualified since i never used agent, but i have read it's more expensive (and maybe risky) if you do not meet the requirements.
In your case (you meet the requirements) i would look for agents if money is not an issue (20-30K i think for 3 month+1 year i think)... not too bad to avoid Immigration (i miss the good old time when they were so friendly... has totally changed).

My english is so bad i thought the tiger thing went up with a "roar"... ????
What a story they have to care about in social media... ????

I forgot (busy day) to mention the agent i saw told me it was NOT possible to get this extension. Not sure he lied because anyway after 30 days i would have the same need of him...
So still wondering if people have successfully obtained this normal extension recently...
It supposed to be ok (nothing official saying "no"), but well... I will have to go ask local immigration tomorrow.
-
I am both interested by :
- People having successfully obtain a "normal" extension of 30 days, without embassy letter, as it looks possible on a visa exemption on arrival (french passport), not having used any extension.
Only ONE report on TVF somewhere ???
- Quote for agent service, since obviously that's what all this mess is about (when they are desesperate for tourists to come back on another hand... ????)
I just have been quoted 40K and 31K for 6 months ED visa, half for agent half for school. No need to go to school. Valid only until 1 year after arrival max, witch would be fine for me i hope to be able to travel in fck normal conditions before 6 months...
Point is it looks like i have only until thursday to apply ! Or to get a 30 days extension.
Why could not immigration just ask 2-4K per month up to 6 months or more i don't understand... Would be direct, easy, not stressfull. Good money for them, good clean farangs staying in Thailand ????

Will the dirty farangs be under the same law ?
Considering the very bad quality of what you (not me hm ????) find everywhere in Thailand, the bad compressed full of chemicals...
It would be a great news to be able to grow your (no no, not me i swear ????) own product, you would have access to a clean product that way (and only that way, no pharmaceutical extract, this millenaire plant has many components acting in synergy, not just THC or CDB).
For "those" talking about addiction, well let's start with booze and sleeping-anxiety pills... All legal. Most of all very addictive. Wikipedia has a good page about that, including social dangerosity.
That said i am not one to critic those who need booze or pills. I just know ganja is WAY less dangerous and much better for health. Looks like medecine finally has agreed after so many year of prohibition (still existing), thanks to the USA.

Indeed. Or in your mobile.
For me the goal is to not have to use my mobile for that.
And it's cheap. I recharge when i want, separately.

Portable Wifi device.
AIS has it. You pay the device, and then refill like for a mobile phone.
Has a battery obviously so you don't have problem with electric cuts (for some hours).

That's what Samut Prakan's immigration is saying. So, do we have any options to try to get the 30-day VE extension we still haven't used? We are talking to them about the extension that we would get with a letter from the US embassy for an extension, but that's it.
Thanks for any guidance on this!Same.
Immigration should have a clear rule about this. Normal extension, not used because amnesty, ok or not ok... Not the usual "depends on IO"...
I guess all this mess is just to extract money from farangs already in Thailand via agents.
In the same time Thailand is desesperate to get tourists back but under virus fear, too complicated, BUT still Thailand make it complicated for those already here (and virus FREE) to stay... Non-sense...

If that were true, refunds on cancelled flights would be issued immediately when the flight is cancelled - rather than leaving people stranded AND w/o the money to purchase a flight that might actually happen.
What the airlines are doing is immoral to the extreme. Their mandate is "maximizing revenue for shareholders," which is fine, but must be balanced by governments forcing them to abide by sane regulations/laws.
Exactly. With the help of visa mastercard etc. The middle-corporations controling
yourmoney.People should require the simple rule :
- You buy a ticket : money is looked
- Service (flight) is provided : money is spend
BUT IF
- Service is canceled, money is NOT spend and immediately unlocked (to you)
Crypto and smart contract do that very easily. Time to evolve ?...

Anyone has made a "normal" 30 days extension on tourist visa (exemption on arrival) ? Without embassy letter i think ?
-
Thanks.
Not clearly stated in infographic indeed for this particular case.
I was understanding this option had gone, considering the "amnesty" like already kind of extensions... But it looks tricky indeed.
Will ask local immigration but i know they are "random" ????
Will wait end of this month to see if others have done it.
Tourists to get unlimited 30-day extensions to stay after ‘visa amnesty’ ends
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits

Indeed. And the letter thing is the same unnecessary business without saying it (not so good because Thailand lose money from those getting the letter, annoying Embassies and immigration...). And it's corruption.
Why the gouvernement and immigration can not be happy with a simple fix :
2K per month. No requirement. Official. Period. Everybody happy.
