Some labor offices insist on seeing the laboratory result. Bangkok labor office doesn't.

They check for signs and symptoms of tertiary syphilis (without testing) just like they don't test for any of the other diseases mentioned on the certificate (leprosy, elephantiasis, etc. etc.) It's just a physical examination. Tertiary syphilis - by definition - has symptoms. It's not the asymptomatic phase of the disease (i.e. latent syphilis). It's the final stage of the disease when symptoms have re-emerged (usually after 10-15 years) and it's gonna kill you in the most horrific way. Check Google images to see what it looks like. No doctor would be able to miss it, lol.

And there's plenty of drink n drugs involved, too. And it usually ends in some teenage lad in a coma from a gang beating. I've seen it all, Buddy! BS. I know cos I have extended family who work in this industry in Japan and Korea making 100k (baht) a month and when they work in Phuket they make 50k a month. The kids don't benefit. No education No dentist No healthcare No decent clothes No safe transportation Total neglect (by grandparents), abandonment (by parents) and various kinds of abuse. It's common. Try living in a rural Isaan village and see for yourself. Plenty of money for gambling though. They love that. I am absolutely certain they'll encourage their daughters to do the same. It's a good earner.
