Frozen pension policy turns British expat's dream into a nightmare
FruitPudding replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Well said, it's a cesspit of human trash and it ain't worth your time or money. -
Now, reorder this taking into account population size. Thailand would be top. Also, I am sure it isn't counting Thailand's plethora of online freelancers and sideliners who hold down regular full time jobs or studies, nor the fact that almost every regular masseuse in the country offers you a handy with an oil massage and will drop her knickers for the right price. Thailand is actually #1 for sure. This is what they excel at.

One does wonder why she was adjusting her security camera the day before her death. Death by gunshot, also a very unusual suicide method for a woman. -

This isn't a really good response. Not all laws are easy to comprehend and there are a lot of technical loopholes. Google also has a lot of inaccurate information, so you need to be sure you have a good source. Also, what about before the Internet? Go to a library? How many books would you need to read to understand all laws? It also requires a level of intelligence many people don't have. My grandparents don't have smartphones or computers. -

Well, that's easier said than done. We don't all have law degrees and the law ain't always logical, intuitive, or just. -
Foreigner Assaults Phuket Tuk Tuk Driver Over Fare Disagreement
FruitPudding replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
If he had paid only 100 for a 400 fare it would be the driver going after him for more money. Seems like the driver was pretty happy with what he was paid, but the customer thought he was owed change. Seems like a clear cut case of another scumbag Phuket driver keeping the customer's change; like that hasn't happened before, lol- 403 replies

I think there's only one definition of scam. Lol Makes a pittance? It's very common for them to keep the change off a 500, claiming you gave only 100. 500 a ride ain't a pittance. Yes. A scam is a scam. Blatant theft in most cases. -

You can pay class 2 or class 3 national insurance while working abroad, like I am now. It's more expensive than class 1 (working in UK), but still. They also just allowed me to backpay 14 years of missed contributions since I left the UK. -

Yes, but British people generally have zero clue about investing and if they live just a few years after retirement age, they've made their money back. I do agree with you though
