La Cumbre right around the corner, too, Good Times
Yes, it's been years but it was the famous Valencia place and that was the only one of that brand then. Hugely popular and deserving. Spoiled me for street stuff here though. As it was in the famous for Mexican food Mission, a lot of people thought of their food as Arabic burritos.
Truly Mediterranean was the most popular in SF, on 16th and Valencia, used to be same name shop on Haight, ran by Jordanians , and one in North Beach, last two have closed, 16th and Valencia still going strongDoner is Turkish. Schwarma is Arabic.
I find the street stuff like that here appallingly bad.
People must be very drunk to actually think it's good.
My reference point is a Palestinian schwarma place in San Francisco, about 10 times better.
If people want real Arabic food here, try the Shish Tawook (spice rub chicken kebab plate) with real deal garlic sauce, 180 baht at the Lebanon Gourmet on 2nd road roughly across from Beverly Plaza Hotel (Arabic,Iranian,Indian part of town). They have cheap street chicken schwarma there too (have not tried it).

Disgusting...I know a Thai that runs one of these in a market, friend of the missus. The shutters go up at midnight and the meat is left in place. Shutters come down at 4pm and on goes the grill with the same meat.
I didn't know this until i did some investigation following 3 days of turbulent bowel syndrome after consuming a kebeb that my wife brought home for me.
Never again.

yes, the Best, but I haven't seen him in a Long time, wife yes and relative, but not see himI have tried many of the sharwarma shops in Pattaya and my favorite is the one run by the Egyptian guy on Second Road near the intersection with Pattaya South. As you go on Second road from the intersection heading north his shop will be about 50 m on the left.

35 baht for moo noodle soup in Udon, Soi farang
I dont think you can eat a meal at any restaurant in Udon for 20 baht. And if it is a noodle shop, then it certainly does not cost over 50-60 Baht in Bangkok.25,000 a month gives a luxurious life in Isaan to feed all neighbors.
Unlike Bangkok where it's 500 baht for a meal, in Isaan you can eat for 20 baht per meal. I know this because I just had it today in Udon Thani.

Hurry they re closing for 6 monthsFactory bread sold in plastic bags in the likes of 7/11 is not real bread, and it does seem to be sweeter than, and nowhere near as good as, the UK version. Not quite as sweet as US sliced bread though which tastes like brioche to me.
For real bread I would suggest BigC on Klang where they bake several times daily under the control of a proper French baker. Their bread (and they do many sorts, including sourdough) tastes very much as it would in France. They have a slicing machine and will slice free to order.
The French rustic baguette at 39B is particularly nice, if you like a crusty loaf.

. Jomtien, expatrentacar.com, I think they can pick u up to, not sureI would like to take the wife and son along the East coast, as we'll be 3 people I would like to rent a small car for about 3 or 4 days from around the 27/12/16 (give or take a day) to around 31/12/16 (give or take a day). Days are flexible, I arrive in Patts 24/12 and will be leaving on the 4/01/17, not sure yet if we'll be going to Hua Hin or Chiang Mai after Patts.
If we were only the wife and me I'd rent a 300cc or bigger scooter / motorcycle, but as we are 3, it'll have to be a car
Any guidence or sugestions will be apreciated.
Regards

I believe it's Closed, I'm staying near it , in hotel ,has for Rent sign on steel door, too bad , I wanted to try it.If I may add a recommendation for a small Thai eatery in central Pattaya. 'Noi Reastaurant' is located on the right side of Soi Honey as you head up toward Soi Buakhow from 2nd road, about a third of the way up the soi, opposite the small car parking lot between the Intown Hotel and Honey Massage. Nothing fancy, but surely a relaxed place. About five tables, some out, some in, all open air.
it's open I believe from about 9:00 AM till about 7:30-ish for last orders. I'm surprised this place doesn't have more regular customers, given the location, foot, traffic, quality of what it offers, good value, etc. Thought I'd mention it here, see if it will help get a few folks to give it a try.
It offers Thai dishes, the basics, but still a fairly extensive menu for that. I find the dishes tasty, the ingredients fresh, the food is prepared quick enough, the drinks and beer are cheap (smalls, 50-60B), and prices of the dishes are quite reasonable, either the 'one-plate with rice dishes', or the standalone dishes, especially for the area. Very nice. It's operated by a couple of sisters; one cooks, the other serves. The type of place of which there used to be many but are disappearing, the type you hope can stick around.
