  1. Today, an altercation between a jealous ex-husband and his ex-wife’s new boyfriend led to a heated exchange of gunfire in front of a house in Tha Mi Ram, Phatthalung province. Police are on the hunt for both men involved in the incident. The scene of the crime was a single-storey concrete house owned by 22 year old Radamanee, who stood outside waiting to give her statement to the police. Later, investigators escorted her to the local police station for further questioning. Approximately 60 metres away from the property, officers discovered evidence of the shooting, including bullet holes in a refrigerated truck and a tree. According to initial inquiries, the conflict began earlier that morning, when Parames, Rattamanee’s ex-husband, arrived at her home to drop off their 7-month-old daughter. The couple had only separated three months prior, but Paramet continued to maintain a close relationship with their child. Upon his arrival, he saw Rattamanee chatting with 21 year old named K on her mobile phone. Consumed by jealousy, Paramet snatched the phone and began hurling insults at K through text messages. 11. A medical technician warned motorists against leaving pressurised liquids in hot cars as explosions could cause shattered glass. Yesterday, May 25, well-known Medical Science Technician Phakphum Dethatsadin warned in a Facebook post about the risks of leaving tightly sealed fizzy drink containers, whether bottles or cans, inside hot cars. The message quickly went viral, with numerous netizens reading, sharing, and commenting on the hidden dangers that are often overlooked. Dethatsadin’s warning cautioned that exposure to high heat could cause gas within the fizzy drink containers to expand and eventually lead to an explosion. This could not only result in a messy situation, with car owners needing to clean their vehicles thoroughly but also become life-threatening if the explosion shatters windscreen glass. Following the circulation of the cautionary post, many people took to social media to share their own experiences of how such explosions inside cars left their vehicles covered in sticky residue. The warning serves as a timely reminder to the general public about the potential dangers of leaving pressurised containers in hot vehicles, encouraging more cautious behaviour in the future. 13. Durian farmers in the Soeng Sang district of Nakhon Ratchasima province are beaming with joy as the demand for Thai durian in China has soared, leading to a significant increase in their income. The region has over 2,000 rai of farmland dedicated to growing the popular fruit. Thawatchai Saitongtip, a soon-to-be-retired school director, has a durian plantation in Dong Yen village, Sisawang, where various durian cultivars, including Mon Thong, Musang King, and Kan Yao, are grown. The 60 years old’s 15-rai plantation, with about 580 durian trees aged between 6 and 9 years, now produces the delicious fruit sought by the Chinese market for its distinctive non-pungent aroma and sweet taste. Considering the high demand, the Sisawang Agricultural Promotion Office has been actively supporting farmers to maintain high-quality standards. They have been trained to harvest only the ripe durians, helping to avoid any complaints about tender fruit and preserving the popularity of Sisawang Durian. The office is also promoting GAP, which controls the use of chemicals on durian plantations. Amornrat Khonputra, a staff officer of the Sisawang Agricultural Promotion Office, informed that those interested in growing Sisawang durians could visit the “Sisawang Agricultural Promotion Office” Facebook page for providing timely information on the availability of durians from various gardens in the area and monitoring the quality of durian production. Sirikanya Tansakun stated that new laws will be implemented to regulate the use, production, cultivation, import and export of the drug, which the caretaker government had not addressed. She emphasised that registered cannabis business operators and marijuana growers will continue to be protected and allowed to operate as long as they have the necessary permissions, reported Bangkok Post.
