Yes and no. Many Thais go to the Korean BBQ places (often in malls) that cater more to Thai tastes. But when I go to more hard core authentication Korean places it's mostly Koreans.

Ok, maybe I do not know what hardcore Korean is.  I admit I have never been to one here, but several in BKK usually yes in the malls.  It seems to usually be a mix of Falang and?  Difficult for me to tell who.....:)

Many Koreans in that part of town? Without their patronage it could be a struggle to survive. There used to be a Korean place near Fairtex, but no longer. Northern end of Beach Rd and 2nd Road is the prime locale for Koreans.

All Thai restaurants only have Thais?  Chinese, Vietnamese same?  The place may do well with absolutely no Koreans.

I am Falang and enjoy Korean food.  So......

  3. Is this true?

I have a friend who has lived here full time for 3 years.  He owns a condo.

He claims that he has never done a 90 day check in.  He said because he owns a condo, it is not required.

Each year when his retirement visa is due, he said he easily renews it for another year and has never been questioned about not doing the 90 day.

Is Beefeater's buffet really up to 399 now? Last price I recall was 349?

HA.  I am all screwed up on my prices.  Maybe I eat out too much or probably just losing my mind.

I think Beefeaters Mex. buffet is actually 345 b.

Maybe easier to just these call places and get prices.

Please continue to advise of new restaurants. It's informative and entertaining. I honestly had been by there several times in the last 24 hours looking for it and still have difficulty believing it's there. I do know that "Louisiana" place has been remarkably open for many years I don't even know what if anything, they sell. Indicating it was next to it would have helped. Landmarks help. But you did make it clear where it was and the fact I could not see it is my weakness, not your lack of specificity. As for chicken being 800 Baht for a whole, 200 Baht for a chicken leg? Those must come with a Vietnamese girl to light your cigarettes  and laugh at your stupid jokes as you dine. Is after all in the what seems like new Japanese area of Pattaya and that's what they like...God Bless You and pray there is some valid explanation for the chicken prices.

WOW, it so so great to see so many nice Christians here...... ??  Go to the intersection of Pattaya Klang and Soi Buakhao.  Go to the left side of the street walking "with the traffic" toward Sukhumvit.  It is not at the intersection but walk approx. 200 m (maybe more), toward Sukhumvit and it is on the left next to Louisiana.

  6. Many of you probably know about this place.  Tonight is what I feel is the greatest buffet in Pattaya.  The greatest for the quality of food, preparation, variety, and price.

399 b at Cherry's.  It is just off 3rd road down the street from Bliss lounge. :)

Living in Bangna area, about 3-4 years back I had some work done... the hilight being a few roots. One was a single root at the front (top, very easy) and the other was a molar at the rear (bottom). I forget some pricing, but the molar root needs a crown also.

The total cost to fix the molar, with a total of about 6 visits for root and crown work, was maybe 12k - at Silkarin hospital just off Srinakarin road. The 360 X-ray camera was rather a novelty to me... and the way they prepared for work was impressive to me... not at all what I've been used to... I felt I was being prepped for major surgery - and that's about right in my opinion. I can't imagine anything worse than tooth pain!

There was absolutely no pain 98% of the time... half of that is from spray (I'm extremely sensitive to temperatures... cool spray hurts).

Following the first visit I mostly snored (according to my son) my way through the sessions when the dentist wasn't bugging me by waking me up.

I just had two fillings done at a local clinic. After doing the molar she told me that it turned out to be a large cavity (no xrays done beforehand...) and that maybe there might be some pain later and the need to do root surgery.

The pain came a few hours later, and I'm looking at a few days without sleep until I can get an appointment booked.

I'm bored with the stupid 'you get what you pay for' comments. Dentistry is mostly skilled labour - and great dentists with great equipment aren't always expensive. Much as I'd like to save money, I can't see my way past returning to Silkarin. My only problem is with the Payment counter which did sometimes seem a bit random (their job being to add more to the charge sheet.... I protested and had one bill reduced by 40%).

Sounds like you need to load up on some Tylenol.  My Dentist in the states is driving a BMW based upon what I have paid in dental work over the past 15 years.

Your 12,000 b cost on your procedures would be close to 100,000 b in the US.  Root canal and crown each over $1,000 US now in California.  I trust most Dentists like I trust Attorneys.

  8. Subway and other sandwich shops:

Anyone else experience if a Thai is making your sandwich they are very frugal about the meat?

At Subway here it seems they put on 1/2 the meat from shops in other countries.  Same with some other shops.

A Subway foot long with a single slice of ham connected with others along the bread.  I don´t want a  bread sandwich.

Anyway, I have to order double meat just to get it up to standard.

  9. Uber is for a Cheap Charlie but is not really cheaper.  The drivers cannot find you and lack confidence in their driving.  It is not much cheaper for me time is money.  But, if important for some to possibly save 30 or 40 baht, go for it.

The service staff don't as soon as your drink drops to 30% full they constantly pressure you a refill.

You are right about that.  The girls do mostly leave you alone but staff wants you to buy drinks.  In fact, I have seen them confront dudes for not drinking fast enough.

  11. I bet Angelwitch is defunked within a year.  It use to be good but now the show is terrible the girls on stage hate their job and it is obvious. Don't go in there alone or with buddies you will be attacked by many girls "buy me a drink".  If you don't they are rude and snotty.. The good performers went to Amethyst on LK, but now that place is gone and so are the girls.

  12. Hit up Baccara again last night.  It was worse then last time.  Sorry to say the appearance of the girls here now is not good now. Large girls not good looking.  I went early,  but the place was still packed I counted 77 men downstairs and I was one of 3 Falang.

Asian dudes bf girls still I guess they see something I do not.  I saw one guy bf a lady and he never said a word to her prior just bf her from the stage.  He did not know her as she walked up and introduced herself?? Whatever, it is their money who am I to judge.
