I used it quite a bit on Friday and again on Saturday around 3pm when I went from Sukhumvit 103 to Saphan Taksin to take a boat to my friend's condo. I didn't notice it being any busier than I've seen it before. I haven't needed to use it this week.

At what time of day? I use the BTS every day and rarely see it packed unless I happen to use it during the morning rush (people heading into town) or 5pm-7pm when the evening rush happens as everyone heads home. Having to wait for the next train is no big deal and only really happens in rush hour. Although of course Siam station being a major interchange and heavily used by tourists who move slowly because they don't know where they are going, is busier than most stations.

I should probably delete my earlier post, as you've answered my question. I was not aware that people in the UK paid tax on their pensions!!! I'm glad I never bothered with a pension and just self-funded my retirement, but knowing they do does mean I have to rethink my plan to maybe go and live out my last 20 years or so in the UK.

I'm a bit confused as to what the actual issue is. I'm aware that UK pensions are frozen for people who choose to live in Thailand, but what is the issue with Tax? Thailand is only going to tax you (if they even do it at all) on the money that you bring into Thailand. What difference does it make what the UK Pension is for people in the UK? You won't be bringing that amount into Thailand so you won't be taxed on the current UK pension amount.

https://www.perplexity.ai/search/did-trump-put-a-cap-on-insulin-IkIVbkNMRASSbsLNMe6vBA#0 Summary While Trump initiated a program that capped insulin prices for some seniors, Biden's legislation established a more robust and permanent cap affecting a larger population. Trump's claim that he deserves full credit for lowering insulin costs is misleading; both administrations contributed to this issue, but Biden's approach provided broader coverage and security for beneficiaries. -
I grew up in a fairly rich family, went to private boarding school etc. You've held a grudge over a small incident that happened 25 years ago? Wow that's crazy!

I don't understand how people can not love their family, let alone not like them. My sister is easily my best friend. My parents were wonderful, but have sadly passed away. All my relatives are great, we've never not got on with each other.

Turkish Tourist Tied Up and Robbed in Pattaya; Insider Job Suspected
Freddy42OZ replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Do you walk around wearing rags and pretending to be a peasant? Or do you spend money on nice things but only enjoy them behind closed doors because you are afraid people will know you have money and nice things to steal? What is the point of having money if you can't enjoy owning nice things and can't show those things off a bit. -

Use a tablet with browser without it defaulting to the app
Freddy42OZ replied to atpeace's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
The problem is that tablets identify as mobile devices, therefore the browser will know its opening on a mobile device and will ask if you would prefer to use the app. Newer tablets with desktop sized screens don't all do this because of the larger screens. You can force Android to always open the desktop site and this may stop it asking if you want to use the app. To force Chrome on an Android tablet to always open the desktop site, open the Chrome app, go to settings, navigate to "Site settings" under "Advanced", and then toggle the "Desktop site" option to "on" which will make it the default setting for all websites you visit. Key steps: Open Chrome on your Android tablet. Tap the three dots in the top right corner to access the menu. Select "Settings". Under "Advanced", choose "Site settings". Select "Desktop site" and turn it on. Important points to remember: Premium tablets: On newer high-end Android tablets, Chrome may automatically default to desktop mode due to Google's optimization for larger screens. Individual site adjustments: You can also choose to override the default setting for specific websites by accessing the "Desktop site" option from the website's menu. -
How is that a hazard? Those are super nice pavements and you're complaining about a tiny bit of rubbish on the side of the path?

British drug dealer arrested after his suspicious behaviour in Phuket
Freddy42OZ replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
I know a few friends who've found a bag of coke in their wallet once on the flight, one even found a bag in his passport while in the queue for immigration! I once lost a bag of weed while on a snowboarding trip in Whistler and had to unpack everything to try and find it before flying back to HK. I never found it, but I was 100% sure it wasn't in my bags. I guess maybe one of our maids took it.
