People who are on holiday want to party till sunrise. The Thai authorities should just introduce different licences for different types of venue. Clubbing until only 2 AM is a joke.

I've been to many places in Isaan, aside from it being sort of nice to see some countryside for a bit there isn't really anything there to make me want to go back, and definitely nothing that would make me want to live there. I think Bangkok is the only place worth living full time.

I can't imagine many tourists use a pool like that. Most hotels have free pools for guests.

Better yet, don't move into somewhere that has damaged or stained anything. Have some standards!

I'm well under 70 and have lived in Asia all my life. I am working on being able to finally move to an English speaking country. I'm sick and tired of living in an Expat bubble and only being able to enjoy interacting with 1% of the population. I've found myself a Farang GF who I will marry maybe next year and then within a few years hopefully I'll be able to afford for us leave Asia. I have no interest in learning Thai and my fiancee doesn't want to live here long term, we want to be able to put her daughter into a good school without paying millions of baht and when her daughter turn 21 we don't want the family to be split apart because she won't qualify for a dependant visa anymore. Options and choices are very different living here if you are a farang family. I should point out that I love living here except that I don't find Thai women appealing as long term partners. *IF* I was going to stay single (ie hadn't found a Farang GF) then I would stay until I die. But now my situation has changed I am planning to one day leave.

He said he doesn't want to immigrate in the near future, not he doesn't want to immigrate at all. He want to have 10M invested here in fixed deposit or Govt bonds for when he does want to immigrate. Always nice to have options and places you can escape to if things in the country you are living change. Plenty of people out there for whom 10M is pocket change and well done to those people for having figured out how to make lots of money. I wish people who don't have that sort of cash would be a bit less jealous about people with money.

Not a waste of time for some people. In 8 years my step-daughter won't be able to stay in Thailand as my dependent because she'll be 21. At that point I would happily invest 1 million USD for her to be able to stay (assuming she was). The rule that kids cannot be dependents after they turn 21 is terrible as it means kids who've grown up here and no know other country have to leave not only Thailand but their home and their parents!

What are "phone calls"? Every single person I know sends text based messages through whatsapp, line, fb messenger, telegram, signal or discord. I don't know anyone who uses voice.
