As the Thai's say.....OVER or OWER. I can't see tourists spending money to come to a bar scene like what wa mentioned or the local ex-pat community supporting that. It definitely needs a major re-think

Alright, Booze ban lifted, travel back to normal. Now all the drunk auto deaths can resume. Yea for Thailand! More deaths and any virus can cause.
LOL. bah bah bah! ???? Yes the answer is we should all stay home forever in our bubbles and exist rather than live, we can already see how well that is going down and wearing on people. You stay safe under your rock, i'm going to go out and enjoy my life responsibly

and the "foreigners" were dragged into the bar.....
You surely have been around long enough to know the answer to your question mate. if there were no foreigners wanting to drink they would have not opened so it is the foreigners fault. Just like accidents if we weren't in the country the accident would have not happened 555

This will be unpopular but i really don't see the big deal. if leaving Chonburi which boasts one of the lowest infection rates and death rates , then we do not have infected people returning home. The lockdown is set to lift as the holidays end anyways so people will be free to move about the country regardless.

Ok you're right. They are not hanging Somchai by a crane for having a bottle of lao khao just yet

No, you ban and fine those sitting in groups eating it. Food is essential, alcohol is not.
I'm very sure the people that work in that industry and rely on it to feed themselves and their families that now have to stand in hours long food lines stressed out about money would disagree with you.
People are gathering eating together anyways, they are gathering in very large groups for hours standing in lines for food. They ban alcohol because it is an instinctive moronic act when they don't know what else to do so they starve out more workers driving up suicide rates further damaging their economy. Yup makes total sense now!

I just hope some of the other Governors around the country don't blindly follow suit in a knee jerk reaction.
They will and then some. Sorry to have to say this but "monkey see monkey do".

It will take a lot longer than that if they keep this up. Prohibition is not a tourist attraction. Thailand is now a hard line Muslim dry state masquerading as a peaceful Buddhist country

Because it is a great way to keep their boot heels in the peoples throats, keep more people out of work relying on government handouts lining up for food everyday. A great way to try and show the world how responsible they are being as they choke the life out of their citizens

Big deal ! Just drink loads of fluids and rest, you will be just fine ???? Dehydration caused by Dengue is the biggest danger.
Not true at all. i had Dengue 4 years ago and the biggest danger is the reduction of platelets in the blood. I spent two nights in the hospital as they were waiting for my platelet count to come up. A friends wife was hours away from needing a blood transfusion because her count got so low

Up to the provincial governors?
Not if the PM bans transportation of alcohol like he did prior, effectively forcing the hand of provincial governors to implement a ban as it would run out anyways

Another stupid article. Making people continue to suffer based on "ifs" and contingencies. We are far better able to deal with it now than 3 months ago. Is the government better able to deal with more crushing blows to their economy? More failed businesses? More mental health issues? More suicides?

Being as there is no quote option in the OP i will just call out the OP as being one of the dumbest and least informative useless articles i have seen in a very long time. It was however good for a quick chuckle

I believe the new story relates in inbound international flights, not domestic.
Yes you are correct the new story says exactly that. The one i commented on didn't but i had already read about the exclusion for international, thus the comment.

As covid 19 subsides will they keep the country in lockdown because if they open it up there will be more road deaths? Are they only interested in showing off numbers to the international community? They use the excuse if they open up there will be a second wave so we have to remain locked down, wouldn't the same illogic apply? They just shot themselves with an article like this because most of know - although few will admit it publicly- what a crock this is.
-
What do they mean "if" everyone cooperates? i see at least 95% cooperation everywhere i look. Even the food lines are a lot better than they were 2 weeks ago

Why did the police need to take away 12 litres of booze? When my wife was selling counterfeit shirts, the police used to raid the shop seasonally and take away 'evidence' that never re-appeared.

It appears the Mexican government is trying to stop the cartels from winning the hearts of the people. Why doesn't the Mexican government start handing out even more food and show they care rather than taking food out of poor hungry peoples mouths? They are already powerless enough against the cartels, they are only making it worse.

Put already poor people out of work and then take away their food for many of which is all they can hope to get. What can possibly go wrong? As stated above, why can't a few police actually police and keep everyone at the recommended distances? Disgraceful!

Let's hope the improvement continues and restrictions can be eased nationally at the start of May.
The suggestion that Chonburi, Bangkok, Phuket and other areas that have recorded the most cases should be kept locked down until June may sound sensible, but a balance has to be made between the relatively tiny number of cases involved and the suffering that another six weeks of lockdown will cause untold thousands people. Suicides among Thais are already rising (or so the GF tells me, that fact doesn't seem to make headlines in the farang media), and forcing the poorest people to rely on daily food handouts isn't only demeaning to them, it may also be harming their and their children's health through insufficient nutrition.
Very well said. You reach a point where prevention becomes worse than the problem itself.

Love how he uses not opening a bar as a result of social distancing which is understandable however, has he seen the food queues?

No other way to say this other than DUH. Restrict air flow while you are increasing your demand for it, people really needed to be told that?
