Could an October Surprise Shift the Deadlocked Trump-Harris Race?
Hanaguma replied to Social Media's topic in World News
That is the standard dodge when confronted with uncomfortable facts. Like the untold billions wasted in Ukraine that could have been spent in America on American people, helping THEIR industry and exports. -
Could an October Surprise Shift the Deadlocked Trump-Harris Race?
Hanaguma replied to Social Media's topic in World News
...None of which matters when groceries and rent cost too much. Which they do under the current administration. What you and many on the left simply don't understand is that many Americans aren't voting for Trump to be pastor. They are voting for Trump to be President. Warts and all, they think as President he will do a better job than Harris, based on his track record of low unemployment, low inflation, low prics, and low interest rates. -
Relying on the so-called popular vote to make any judgements is an exercise in futility. Nobody can tell what the actual vote would be if everyone thought their vote mattered in choosing the President. As for the Trump years being "the worst in history", well current polling suggests otherwise. Voters prefer Trump to Harris on handling the economy, inflation, and immigration. Also, pre-covid America under Trump was humming along. Low inflation, low interest rates on loans/mortgages, low unemployment. Seems a strange recipe for being the worst ever.

Obviously not. But it would be far better if NO ineligible voters did this, regardless of party affiliation, correct?

You ever been shot at , WIll? Ever feel the sting of a bullet? Ever see and feel your own blood afterwards? Somehow I don't think so. Give the devil his due. Getting to his feet afterwards and gesturing to the crowd was a boss move. You are just too blinded by The Syndrome to be able to admit as much.

Not first hand, true. But I can read, which puts me ahead of most of your ilk.

Both. In many states as well, if you get a drivers licence you can automatically register to vote. But there is no citizenship requirement for a DL. California is like this.

Can I admit it for him? Trump lost in 2020. AND... there is no good reason that I can see why voters do not need to properly identify themselves. I cannot think of a single modern democracy where voters do not need to prove who they are and that they are citizens before voting. Can you?

Many men of Trump's generation, some quite famous in the world of politics, dodged the draft. He has a lot of company in that regard. But what cannot be denied is that he did show some serious stones when the would-be assassin tried to blow his head off.

It's actually a pretty good question. On the one hand, Trump is a well known germaphobe. Not to the level of Howard Hughes, but close. The idea of him having sex in a grotty hotel room with a "well used" porn star doesn't match up with that. On the other hand, he is a well known horndog. He'd fvck a snake if it was held down and immobilized. Banging a porn star would be , in his mind, a feather in his cap. Which could it be...

Good Lord, we agree on something...time to buy a lottery ticket. But you are right. Kids don't care about how much money their parents have, barring abject poverty. They crave time and energy. I could teach my son how to throw a football, how to tackle correctly, etc. We went on hikes and adventures and got filthy dirty. Being a father takes good health and time more than financial resources IMHO.

Dems fear harris is MIA during campaign stretch: …
Hanaguma replied to riclag's topic in Political Soapbox
Sure. Yet another softball interview. Heavily scripted, heavily edited. WIth a very friendly and sympathetic reporter who has interviewed her in the past, more of a tongue bath than an actual interview. You think they would do the same for Trump? -
IMHO, before 30 is the way to go. My son was born when I was 29 and his mother was 25. Now, he is 28 and a new father. So I get to enjoy my retirement years spoiling my grandson. Not worrying about paying college tuition for my own kids. Basically, my wife and I can live a carefree life. Another bonus is that the great-grandparents can see their great grandson! They are in their late 70s and still active. What a great gift for their later years.

Tim Walz's Verbal Missteps Stir Concerns Amid Tight Campaign

Considering the topic is about the VICE presidential candidates, you could easily say the same about JD Vance. -
Tim Walz's Verbal Missteps Stir Concerns Amid Tight Campaign
Hanaguma replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Finally, Walz' mis-statements are not simple memory lapses or oopsies. In every case, the 'lapse' is in the direction of Walz looking better. So on Hong Kong, he lied so that it looked like he was a witness to history in Beijing. In his military career, he lied to look like a combat veteran and a retired CSM. He even lied to appear like the head coach of a football team in order to take credit for their success. His lies are always self-serving, never deprecating. That is what makes them look so irresponsible. -
Tim Walz's Verbal Missteps Stir Concerns Amid Tight Campaign
Hanaguma replied to Social Media's topic in World News
As for Walz, a couple of things are obvious. a/ he has not had any actual interviews or taken even moderately pointed questions for a long time. b/ he is not used to being contradicted or asked to prove what he says. Sounded to me like he was over-prepared. A couple of times he was rushing through prepared statements and jumbled the sentences so that they made no sense. He was also not listening very much to what Vance was saying either. Vance listened very carefully to Walz' answers and rebutted them or built on them. Walz just spoke in whatever pre-memorized sound bite seemed appropriate. -

As if on cue, "b-b-but Trump!" manages to sneak into the very first comment. -
...or perhaps you could leave it up to the other CANDIDATE to call out anything stupid that gets said. And if they can't, well that's on them. The more time the moderators spend preening in the spotlight and being smug, the less time the public has to evaluate the candidates. Nobody watching cares a whit what the moderators think or know. They want to see the two candidates sparring. So the mods should stay out of the bloody way and let them have at it. And once the discussion starts to run out of steam or get repetitive, step in to change to another topic. I get frustrated every time I hear a moderator say, "there's SO much more we have to get to...". No there isn't. Unless they have been given a list of 'approved' topics and questions by their bosses.

Which state that Trump won in 2020 will he lose this time?
Hanaguma replied to theblether's topic in Political Soapbox
Trump will win ARizona and Georgia, possibly Nevada and Pennsylvania. Has a shot at Michigan. -
Serious question- do you actually know any veterans who served in Iraq? I do, and what you are implying is garbage. 2005, when Vance was in Iraq, was not a quiet year. Nowhere in the country was considered safe. The US military suffered nearly 7,000 casualties in that year. So please spare us your ignorance.

What Happens If There's a Tie in the US Presidential Election?
Hanaguma replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Good point. Harris DOES have a case of 'man hands'..... We're back to a tie now. -
Danderman likes to police the discussion, especially with those who disagree with him. Standard tactic for the left.

It is Quebecois comfort food. Best with fresh curds and bacon on top. Then again, every food is improved with bacon on top. "Fries and gravy" have been a staple of the diet for God knows how long. I remember when fries in my high school cafeteria were 25 cents, and the gravy an extra nickel.
