Dana is usually a better interviewer than this. She was very good during the Trump/Biden debate- professional, prepared, and factual. The first thing CNN should have done is say "no, this will not be a pair interview. We want to interview Harris only". Also, Bash gave her guests far too many 'off ramps' to her questions. They were long and wordy and ate up far too much time. Pointed and succinct would have been far better. Even so, Kamala managed to flub the softballs and look confused.

Trump's Political Strategy: Shifting Blame for Afghanistan to Harris
Hanaguma replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Yes, on the Commander in Chief of the military. And who might that be..... Biden wanted the withdrawl to coincide with the 20th anniversary of 9/11. He wanted a photo op and a meme, and he sacrificed lives to get it. What a chump. -
Trump's Political Strategy: Shifting Blame for Afghanistan to Harris
Hanaguma replied to Social Media's topic in World News
The VP was very proud to say that she was the last person that the doddering Joe Biden spoke to before many, if not most of his decisions. Including this one. Hard to blame a man who was not in power at the time. The Biden-Harris administration had no trouble reversing any of Trump's policies when it suited them. Nah, this is on Joe and Kamala. They screwed up the timing and the execution. -
If these are "bombshells", if this is Kamala at her best, then Trump has nothing to worry about. A very gentle Dana Bash gave her trouble over the course of a grand total of about 20 minutes' time. She will wilt in a debate.

Trump's Political Strategy: Shifting Blame for Afghanistan to Harris
Hanaguma replied to Social Media's topic in World News
For one thing, don't do the withdrawl during the 'fighting season' just to look good and have a convenient anniversary date. Wait until winter. For another, don't abandon billions of dollars of military hardware for your erstwhile enemy to use. Including more than 10,000 Humvees and 300,000 personal weapons. Casualties? There had been zero deaths in 2021 up until the pull out. In 2020 there were 11. So waiting and phasing the withdrawl to coincide with better timing would have been the smart play. -
Follow ups yes, occasionally. But no real push back, no fact checking, and just accepting the word salad answers that did not address the questions. To be honest, Bash did a bit better than I thought- she DID try, but I am sure was hampered by her instructions from her bosses and her reluctance to make Harris look bad. I did notice that almost everything bad that happened while she was VP was Trump's fault somohow. She talks as if she were not the incumbent VP.

The actual interview parts totalled 18 minutes. The rest was filler, video clips, commercials, etc. Very gentle probing from Dana Bash. She occasionally asked a follow up question but never actually dug deep. Just accepted whatever answer Harris (and rarely Walz gave) and moved on. This was a gentle and friendly little chat. As an aside, the optics were strange. Why did Walz sit directly opposite the interviewer, and not Harris? Having Harris in the middle made her look phusically small and definitely not in control.

A bit new? Come on, man. Harris has been the VP for more than 3 years- first woman and POC in the job. You think she is new to the public? Biden even requested that his government be called the Biden-Harris administration. She is as high profile as any VP in recent memory. And yet, she still needs her ESG (Emotional Support Governor) at her side to guide her through a tongue bath interview with a friendly network. I'm dying to see if CNN will ever release the unedited and complete interview.

Politicians often kiss and make up, especially in the name of expediency. The current administration is no different. Vance freely admitted that he was wrong, based on Trump's performance as President. How and what did Kamala win exactly?

There is a large gulf between books being banned and books not being available in a public library. The books are not banned. They are freely published without punishment. They are freely available for purchase in many ways. But libraries have limited shelf space and a mandate to serve the pubic. It is not censorship to question whether providing books that show underage sex acts is questionable.

That is because Harris was part of the decision making process that led to the disaster. She has always boasted about being 'the last person in the room' when Biden makes decisions. So she can wear this one too. The basic idiocy of the timing and procedure of the situation rests on the Biden/Harris Administration. It is a classic media technique these days. The Republican reaction to a Democratic failure gets more attention than the actual failure.

The interview will be massaged and packaged and produced more than any Hollywood movie in the past 50 years. This is Kamala's "coming out party" and it will be made to look amazing. However professional Dana Bash may be (and usually she is pretty good), she will be on a very short leash and only given a select list of questions to ask. Follow ups will be non-existent. And the Emotional Support Governor will be by Kamala's side to jump in if she starts windmilling her hands and talking like a kindergarden teacher.

I'm sorry, I don't understand what you are getting at...

Entirely possible. Trump is old. But if he is elected and cannot serve his full term, then Vance will step in. And do a very good job. He is used to dealing with crisis and coming through successfully.

Trump and Biden both took advantage of student deferments (four and five respectively), then when they ran out a medical deferment. Biden DOES attend ceremonies, when it is convenient. But he does seem to get bored easily, as his watch checking scandal showed. And also 'forgets' the fallen. Trump attended the ceremony at the request of the families of the deceased. Ask yourself why Biden and/or Harris were not invited.

Tom Tugendhat Military Intervention in Illegal Migration
Hanaguma replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Makes sense. The real villains are the human traffickers and smugglers who depend on fleecing immigrants to make money. Remove their incentives (and hopefullly remove THEM in the process) and the problem will largely be solved. There is no reason any true refugee or asylee need leave Europe and 'flee' to the UK, except convenience and economics. Which AFAIK are not valid reasons for an asylum claim. -
Canada Implements 100% Tariff on China-Made Electric Vehicles
Hanaguma replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Canada needs EVs like fish need bicycles. We have more oil than almost any other country. Brutal winters. Long commutes. Crumbling infrastructure. Where do EVs fit into this scenario? Ford and Toyota are correct in switching to hybrid engine technology more and more. I think Trudeau very very reluctantly is starting to push back gently on his lefty tendencies. There is an election looming, and he needs to drift back to the centre and try to appeal to voters. -
Yet again, the Harris campaign is trying to explain their policies by proxy. Nothing direct, but a spokeshole hints and speculates about an issue- testing the wind before making a commitment. I guess we are all waiting with baited breath until Herself finally speaks on CNN. At least speaks a little, as much as her Emotional Support Governor lets her.

Neither does Joe Asthma. I guess that is why he hid at his beach house and did not bother to attend the ceremony.

Now, zero for infinity plus four. Although I do agree, Walz WILL come tumbling down. Down to defeat after Vance exposes his totalitarian beliefs and BS.
